Very nice but as someone who has been skating for 18 years now Im very dissapointed that after all this time people are still calling what we do “rollerblading”. It just isnt true. Rollerblade is a company and “rollerblading” is a trademark of that same company. This company, as we all know, is not dedicated to the future of skating and in fact, as they did in the past, will sue people for using the term “rollerblading” when they think they can make a buck. So why are we all still using a term that promotes the one company that has proven it does not care about the everyday skate lifer.
My point is just call it anything other than rollerblading, because it only does us harm and helps rollerblade, the company, get stronger. Since the company was bought out by an even bigger corporation, Benetton, they just kick off riders and don’t put anything back into the industry. FUCK THEM. THEY dont deserve to be represented by US.
Do you all agree? Because I’m so sick of this useless phrase that ONLY helps the company Rollerblade. When skating has a public resurgence I dont want all the new kids to end up automatically thinking they need Rollerblade brand skates to do things right, giving them all this money that will never be put back into the industry. Now do you see what I mean? They dont call snowboarding “Burtoning” just because Burton invented the first snowboards.
So all in all, please, anything but rollerblading, not cause what it sounds like or what connotations exist, but because FUCK advertising for that shitty company. Honestly I’d rather call it “Razorblading” than “rollerblading”. At least Razors supports the skate lifer.
Peace and love and no negativity except to those who dont believe in the cause. Because if your not with us your certainly more likely against us!

what we call it shouldnt really affect what we do, if you keep skating/rollerblading/rolling thats all that matters

way to take over the post bryan haha.
sic work joey!!
but yeah that is my main problem with the name. just like hoover or kleenex. its a brand… and one that i would love to want to support but through due to their own actions i choose not to.
rolling fits best with me, always has. they all have their +s and -s but this is the one that sticks for me.

why not support Rollerblade when they have been in the sport since the beginning? maybe I agree about the name though

and isnt putting out new skates and sponsoring skaters supporting the industry? I also think it was a bad decision to fire their previous team, but I dont see any other reason to hate Rollerblade so much. Becuse it was bought out by a larger company isnt a reason to hate on the company. I dont think Its always bad to have large companys in the industry unless they are hurting the industry.

I think we need both rollerblading and the company Rollerblade. The bigger the skating companies get, the more influence will they have on media and the perception of rollerblading to the masses. Rollerblade is one of those companies that is able to distribute skates to ordinary sport shops in America, Japan and Europe which probably makes more kids start skating than Valo or The conference – albeit they’re skates being better (I assume since I’ve never tried Rollerblade). But it was a bad idea to change the topic, this is about a mag ffs!
Great work! Thanks for your contribution to rollerblading!

YOU ARE ALL RETARDED. rollerblading is a sport not a company. the company is trs or team rollerblade series, and it has been shortened to rollerblade brand. the term rollerblading came way b4 trs so shut up, get off you computers and go fucking skate. im sick of how much people bitch on these forums and now uv got me doing it. who gives a shit. go skate

umm you actually dont know shit do you?
how long have you skated? because your knowledge of rollerblade@ is short sighted.
i agree with this in some ways but also think the points being made about rollerbladeactually being world influential are valid too.
Just dont start calling this freestyle rolling again yeh?
that died a death didnt it>?
