Put some skin on them, couse they ugly as hell.
January 17th, 2009 at 10:44 am
i might be totally wrong on this, but it looks like the buckle couldnt last a week of skating. its so exposed its bound to snap off. plus every time your soul foot doesnt lock on, it will unclip and youll have to adjust it. again…i might be totally wrong

Man its like he reading a script and that he has been pulled out of bed early one morning by RB to film this. Terrible delivery.
Also so much bullshit, bigger wheels helps you go fast and give you longer grinds, thats a ridiculous comment, if you want to go faster just skate faster upto the grind. Then he said that the heel pad thing helps you not to damage your foot by reducing big impact such as when you come of f a handrail going real fast, FAIL going fast reduces impact through direction reducing the vertical forces.
Where were you when god was giving out brains?
January 17th, 2009 at 12:52 pm
bigger wheels do make you go faster. Look at bikes, 24″ bmx bikes go much faster than 20″.
Back to the topic.
They are ugly as fuck, I have yet to see anyone skate these with impressive style.

:- )
Anyone skates rollerblades?
January 17th, 2009 at 2:26 pm
For some reason I love the look of this skate…I think its because it looks so old school and the massive soul plate is sick. I’d probably buy them if I didnt love my xsjados so much
January 17th, 2009 at 3:21 pm
Yeah these look horrible. I bought the DT5s when they came out and skated them for a month before going back onto my G7s because I just wasnt skating as solid as I do on rzrs. These skates dont look much better. The soul area looks nice and thats about it. So I have some size 11 DT5 boots for sale if anyone is interested!

look like salomon back in business. they looks like them.
January 17th, 2009 at 5:44 pm
i got talking to steve swain the other day and he said they are insanely good. looked better on his feet than in the pictures i’l add.
January 17th, 2009 at 7:45 pm
sorry alex but i have to say that those look almost nothing like salo’s
January 17th, 2009 at 8:23 pm
I don’t think they look like salomons but the soul plate look is like the ones salomon had before they stopped selling in the U.S.. The thick heel pad is just like salomons almost and the whole concept of the skate being skinnier and lighter and flexible is just like salomon used to be. I think anyone who loved riding salomons would love these skates, I could be wrong though.
January 17th, 2009 at 8:37 pm
those look the worst most cheap looking god awful things ive ever seen, i dont care whos on your pro team
January 17th, 2009 at 9:27 pm
i love how he says the shell was designed for agressive skating when its an old rec mold thats still in production. also the small downtown cuff fits on those skates. I saw the rec version at a shop the other day and “urban street” edition or some cr4p , has the dt5 cuff and it looks so much better. velcro is bullshit. i guess these skates could preform really well, i mean i get it , nice soul, nice new liner and pretty light but they’re so slim that they look bannans on people feet. Put the old cuff and maybe they’d be worth it, cause theres no way you can tuck your pants into that cuff and have it look descent. Swain looked 1000x better in thrones. and another thing…dropping dalnas ? stupid move… no one really cares about Rob g. or richie v (i know hes a good guy) and they new euro aditions are an iffy move. If these skates dont perform incredibly well i think this will be the end for RB’s agro line….and i met julian bah and hes a d1ck..i offered to smoke him up and he acted like i was holding some schwag and turned it down. Sucka missed a blunt of sour deisel
January 17th, 2009 at 9:28 pm
i wanna try them bad, the ones with the whit look alright then just get a white cuff that would be sick, i wonder if razor cuffs fit
January 17th, 2009 at 9:33 pm
yup thats true no doubt
January 17th, 2009 at 11:54 pm
That buckle is fuckin horrible, i remember when i was skatin on my broskows and i must say – that buckle is a fuckin worst shit on earth. Tom if you wanna change something with rb skates, start from that buckle, and then say its a revolution and other bla bla bla and put some skin on them! If you need an inspiration just look on Grey estillos and white details

THIS IS A MESSAGE TO ALL THE NEGATIVE POSTS>
HAVE YOU TRIED THEM YET?
nope
so why bang on about how shit you are.
everyone who i know whos rode them really like them.
so stop being gay and worrying about how they look so much and try and skate them.
No skate looks good fresh out of the box
they need scuffing up ect.
id love to try them
+ the ability to put big wheels in the frames is a good thing.
effortlessly smooth and fast skating
p.s watch swain skate them,
then youll not talk about people having an inability to skate these skates with style
January 18th, 2009 at 5:33 am
say what ever you want people, this is progression.
my hat goes off to hyser for putting his ass on the line in making these.
January 18th, 2009 at 8:16 am
garbage, i didnt even have to watch the video. utter garbage.
January 18th, 2009 at 5:21 pm
First off Tom, you need a cup of coffee bro. The frame is truly innovative agreed, but why would anyone want that dirk when they can have remz, razors, usd, xsjado,or valo’s?
And to “angry”, Rob G is the Godfather and Richie is the Kingpin. Jeff D is straight up sick but he is no Rob G. I do aggree that while Julian has steez he is a dick(why do you gotta be a dick to people dude?)
flowskate- “no skate looks good fresh out of the box” -words of wisdom.
January 18th, 2009 at 7:17 pm

Hey ‘Angry’ –
They are not an old Recreational model.
They are a brand new mould. The rec model you have seen is a brand new freestyle skate that is coming out at the same time as these and uses the same shell but with a rec frame and wheels on it. They do this because the aggressive shell works really well for a freestyle or slalom skate because of it’s good ankle support and durability.
I have tried these skates and they are really REALLY good. Especially, in my opinion, if you take off the Salomon style widebody soul kit.

the worst idea is to have tom hyser desing skates,
1 average skater
2 no style at all
3 never been an opinion leader
4 horrible taste
You have an audience, listen to them,
1 go white
2 redesign the buckle area (looks like crap)
3 its a proven fact that velcro straps in the upper part of the cuff dont work as good as classic buckles. even remz redesign that
4 get and opinion leader, some basic examples Arlo, Haffey, Latimer, Franky, etc i know those names allready have a place in the industry but im sure there is a bunch out there to choose from (hyser and guerrero….i doint think so)
5 TIME TO MARKET, this is marketing 1.1 Release the product when everybody wants it, i think u r lil bit too late, also know what the competiton is doing
i like rbs, i started with tarmacs, it would be nice to see some improvent again.
January 19th, 2009 at 5:53 pm
I totally agree with Roussel.. “my hat goes off to hyser for putting his ass on the line in making these.”
And I’ve read Sven Boekhorst’s opinion about them, he thinks they’re great skates, look way better in real live, an the dude skates HARD on these skates…
And if you don’t like the skates… it’s just your opinion, just like this post expresses mine.. to each his own
January 21st, 2009 at 5:12 am
he should be giving out this for free for poor kids that needs skates nobody will paid a dim for them, they suck is like going back in time, you cannot event compare to old roces or rollerblade they suck such a waste of time resources and people ONE MORE TIME ROLLERBLADE GOING ONE STEP BACK!!
