…a friend of mine got these and they looked super huge in size 10.5. They looked even a lot bigger than my Nimhs and Im a size 11….
January 25th, 2010 at 6:05 pm
Nice little promo. Looks good.
January 25th, 2010 at 6:10 pm
yeah promo, and NOT review, more like PREview
January 25th, 2010 at 6:32 pm
Lukas we don’t care about your size, stop talking about how they look and talk about how they work. And still not a review but a promotional edit.
Straps are solution more than buckles that broke easily. But i hope Rollerblade review their material, the soulplate broke easily especialy the heel part is too much breakable.
January 25th, 2010 at 6:46 pm
I don’t understand why the Estilo lacks the velcro 45 degree strap. It’s obviously an improvement over the buckle which breaks way too easily.
January 25th, 2010 at 6:47 pm
nice ‘review’ totally unbiased.
January 25th, 2010 at 6:51 pm
they look like moon boots but I would love to see how they would skate and abstract you clearly are the biggest tool on this board of course size matters you clown I dont want to buy a skate that is a huge size 11 compared to a normal size 11 all the info is important
January 25th, 2010 at 7:07 pm
Yeah those metal buckles stink. and stink bad. The low end skates like the low jacks now have buckles that work. I don’t know why they insist on using those on anything else, my guess is they think they’re actually better than the those on the new jacks. Too bad those vents don’t take away enough weight…. Sounds like Tom is asking for a class action lawsuit, Glancing at the weights listed at Aggressivemall.com it seems the skate is one of the HEAVIEST on the market. nice try Tom.
January 25th, 2010 at 7:27 pm
am i the only one who doesn’t like the look of those??
imho they are soo ugly
January 25th, 2010 at 7:31 pm
rollerblade fuckin sucks!
January 25th, 2010 at 8:16 pm
For Russ>
” you clearly are the biggest tool on this board ”
Thx for that ! Just because i say i prefer to know how they work than how they look, sorry, but it’s not my fault if you have a clown feet, a lot of skates look big after a size 42 … the skate isn’t bigger than a throne or razors so shut up moron.
January 25th, 2010 at 8:18 pm

January 25th, 2010 at 8:51 pm

Havent skated either skate, so I dont know about them. However, I have modified my Xsjados to fit the switch frames though. First off they are quite heavy compared to the Featherlites Im used to skating. They are very fast for royale tricks, but I could not get used to the extra height of the frame when locking topside tricks on coping. I was most curious about all the hype surrounding how fast they would be with 72mm wheels. They are maybe a little faster, but not that much. Basically after about 3 good sessions total, I took them off, and put my featherlites back on. I run 59mm wheels and I felt No difference in speed whatsoever. It was a good experiment though.

Hyser’s still better than most of you RN faggots. Little dickheads.
January 25th, 2010 at 9:33 pm
bigger wheels are better for park u just roll over every little crack like its nothing dont even need to pump iv not tryed 72mm tho im just on some 60mm n there so much better than 57mm.
January 25th, 2010 at 9:50 pm

…hell I really didn´t see this coming. Next time I wanna share some of my experiences with a certain mold with anyone on rollernews I better think about how much people like you who suffer from abnormally little height and a chinese circus girl´s physique can be intimidated by the menace of a foot larger than the average twelve year old paper boy´s….WOW…

actually, i always wondered how one can skate ledges with that switch frame, regarding topsides. Large Wheels are cool, but 58mm are enough if as fast urethane is used. you just have to bend so much further to lock fishies for example. Bad Idea Frames to me

Sad to see rollerblade passing through some sort of retrogression for years already.
I still know how stoked i was about the TRS Detail in 2002…. now, i just feel compassion about their embarassing attempts to gain a foothold in modern rollerblading
January 26th, 2010 at 1:25 am
I enjoy the idea of having an interchangeable aggressive skate and fitness skate it works well when i commute, I have seen these skates in action on steven swain at the WRS finals wow dude wtf, they are so fucking tight, i was one of the haters,( i thought they looked redicilous but they are strictly performance and only getts better with grooves) definatly a must

Tom Hyser seems like a cool guy, I got a pair of Solo Tribes… for my girlfriend… because only a retard could miss a soul in these things and they’re cheap.
Good for beginners I’d say.
January 26th, 2010 at 5:43 am
the look of these skates is not a bad thing, dynamic design is necessary for the industry. look at xjado, how much were they bagged out and now they’ve consolidated thier credibility and are well recognised in the industry.
as much as ive lost respect for rb for trashing the team, i think they are fresh and looking to the future..
as for the high switch frames, it shouldnt be too much an issue locking topsides(like somebody previously stated), as the soul is quite large so it’s still in proportion, therefore maintaining the usual boned over angle required for topsides.
..so yeah, i guess i’ll give kudos to rb.

i wanna see rollerblade comback….dont hate try to help, appreciate and congratulate…works better than talking shit about a founding company that represents a good part of our lives….rollerbladers attitudes have really changes since the 90′s…its 2010 its should change back

Ugly, low budget attempt to worm their way back into an industry they abandoned… There is nothing innovative about this skate; it has a Salomon wide body, a velcro strap, and wheels from a tractor… Isn’t it the same boot that RB use for their speed skates?… So the ‘innovation’ in this low budget product is simply to attach a piece of square plastic to the side… The care that has been put into the product comes across clearly in the way it looks…
Skaters should change their attitude to the industry… We should all demand the highest quality product from every company in the industry, instead of just accepting whatever shit someone calls the ‘latest innovation’ or ‘newest technology’… Because hardly any company puts any time into genuine research of their products…
January 26th, 2010 at 2:42 pm
dudes… you guy don’t get the idea behind those states stupid fucks… :oS
agressive skates always had ‘comfort’ issues… all brands/skates have there tipical problems… foot is loos, or your heel lifts, or no good ankle support, … every skate has his problem…
if you ever used fitnes skates, then you know fitnes skates always fit like glove… no pain, no problems…
that was the idea behind those skates, start from the fitnes boot that offers great support en make a freestyle skate of them !
and they did a good job ! people who skate them like them verry much, even carbon skaters with ankle problems prefer rb above there carbons for the good ankle support.
and if you skate them in a size -42, they look smal/normal… al skates look big in bigger sizes
January 26th, 2010 at 3:32 pm
Rollerblade long life, you have a beautiful picture with your team
January 26th, 2010 at 6:43 pm
fuckin disgusting skates!! Im surprised anyone would buy them!
January 26th, 2010 at 7:14 pm
They are a great performance skate but the damn 45 degree buckle breaks way too easily. The switch frames are actually really great for street and jumping gaps due to the larger wheels. So much stability.
January 26th, 2010 at 7:57 pm
FYI.
RB will have a booth at the BCSD. We’re going to bring some Solo skates for people to test. We’re confident that anyone who tests the new 2010 Solo skates will agree, these skate are bad-ass. Be sure to come by our booth and chat it up with Rob G. and Sizemore. New features on the 2010 Solo skates: New larger buckle protector keeps the 45 degree buckle from getting “jacked”, New sole plate material, New frame spacers, New CR + G 72mm 89A wheels, softer shock absorber.

those blades seem amazing!
January 27th, 2010 at 1:29 pm
glad im not rob.g or the rest of the team, plug could get pulled any second
January 27th, 2010 at 6:42 pm
had the first estilo they fell to bits tbh, soulplates broke and strap/buckles fucked, these look abit diff with better materials for the soulplates they would be amazing, and i think rb should make a solo with the old skin over it sumhow so it doesnt look super uguly that would be pretty sick.

Try the 72mm setup for a week and you’ll never want to go back to normal frames. Trust me.
January 30th, 2010 at 9:27 pm
This is from my experience on the TRS Solo Estilo from 2009. Since july 09 they have been only a disappointment.
The 72mm are cheap recreational wheels, the profile of the wheel is the same as a rec skate wheel, with flimsy urethane, plastic cores which do not hold the bearings tightly. Riding Vert the wheels do not respond well to the ramp. They absorb the energy you try to put through them, they are unresponsive and they break.
The original 72mm that comes with the skate de cored after a few ramp sessions whilst incorporated in a flat set up with 56mm Eulogy JC Rowe wheels. The Hyper Concrete’s offered as replacements have cored after a few ramp sessions as well.
The Taller frame, to accommodate the 72mm is completely pointless when used with a standard street wheel. eg 56mm wheel must be rockered down in order to clear the chassis, to stop the skate frame touching the ground to soon, this lifts your ride height and raises your centre of gravity creating more work to stay balanced, besides looking ridiculous.
Plastic from the boot interferes with the cuff, obstructing the cuff from closing tightly, the boots fit loosely around the leg. and easily to tight over the foot.
The skate feels cumbersome and clumsy. The buckle protector and soul plates are after thoughts which fix to the skate in a way not seen since 1996!
Personally i am so disappointed, Trs Details 2002 on wards were excellent, the new 72mm series Trs are lousy, nothing special, with cheap wheels.

Dear Tom, What should i do with my useless Trs Solo Estillos?!
