Rollerblade Estilo Proto: lot of photos (FF Shop)

Rollerblade Estilo Prototypes: lot of photos (FF Shop).
PLEASE NOTE: the skates are prototypes and are not the FINAL product!
There will be changes added to the SOLO system that will come with a GROOVE, and the liner will be a lot better.
I have tried them on (perfect size for me) and i can tell you ONE thing.. this is the NEXT level in skates! The system works perfect! They could protect the second buckle a little bit more or try a new system for buckle there..
But thats about it for flaws! This skate is superlight, superstrong, fits like a glove (no kidding!).. if you see them in person.. LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!!!
Check the photos of the Rollerblade Estilo Prototypes.

where is the royale groove???
August 22nd, 2008 at 10:19 am
Like i said.. The skate is a PROTOTYPE.. the final skate will have a groove on both sides! Also, the liner will be improved then and some other small things to make it better..
August 22nd, 2008 at 10:25 am
Can’t help but think it looks like a new salomon mold? But looks interesting? Might look totally different when its finished? When r these due to be finished? Wouldn’t mind trying a pair : D

August 22nd, 2008 at 10:33 am
They normally come out in Februari/March 2009. But it is possible that i get the skates sooner in the shop. But it should take 2 months for sure to have them here since they are just in production. Normally they will send me out the final product soon so i can test them and skate them.. also will they sponcer one of the forward team riders soon..
August 22nd, 2008 at 10:35 am
Their kinda growing on me… a little..
August 22nd, 2008 at 11:14 am
without that awfull soul plate they would look propper nice. its like a nice plain smooth looking skate with a big square black slab bolted to the side! X
August 22nd, 2008 at 11:44 am

Stepback… Fugly….
August 22nd, 2008 at 1:14 pm
skates looks ok… but soul plate >>> wtf???
August 22nd, 2008 at 1:29 pm
Am I the only one who sees that this is not a new skate? This is the Dirk/Swindler boot mold with a slightly different buckle and UFS compatibility. Not saying that’s a bad thing, I had both of those skates and loved them, just saying RB should be honest and say,”we tried something different, but in the end we went back to what was developed 10 years ago”
August 22nd, 2008 at 2:22 pm
bring back your skates from 98…. those were perfect… no one wants that disease you call Estilo
August 22nd, 2008 at 2:50 pm
BULLSHIT !
I think RB needs money !
August 22nd, 2008 at 2:51 pm
ingeneers don’t even know what a bakslide groove is
THIS SKATE IS UNSKATABLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 22nd, 2008 at 4:28 pm
FYI.
The sole plates will have grooves. Our Pro team wanted to try the sole plates without grooves. It worked well once a groove was made from grinding ledges. However, based on input from shops and the public, we added nice grooves. The buckle protector will be taller. Yes, there will be some other small improvements. These skates ride amazing!
August 22nd, 2008 at 4:40 pm
lol, evidence sucks @ reading and spelling!
August 22nd, 2008 at 6:27 pm
I really like rollerblade as a brand and I loved the TRS skates but please.. drop the 2008 models.. they are a disaster to be honest, only kids up to 10 will buy these, if even that.. big mistake RB, major stepback…
August 22nd, 2008 at 6:41 pm
wow it’s really funny see that so many people actually CAN’T read a news…
“ingeneers don’t even know what a bakslide groove is”
“where is the royale groove???”
etc etc
LOL
August 22nd, 2008 at 6:53 pm
Hey Tom,
Thanks for your input. Will these skates be able to utilize a standard buckle instead of the strap system?
Whatever skate is your “secret project” skate, that’s what I’ll try, no matter what it may look like. I don’t know if this is it, but that’s the skate I’m waiting for.
August 22nd, 2008 at 6:57 pm
Those will fail so hard, and I’ll be laughing when they do.
Grossest looking skates ever.
K2 for life, fuck RB.
August 22nd, 2008 at 7:02 pm
haha, funny you say that since k2 isn’t failing or anything…
August 22nd, 2008 at 7:10 pm
didn’t RB have a estillo skate like over 10 years ago. Lucas is right. I skated something like these back when I was a noob. This is like the skates right before teh paw series came out, just with the idea of a salomon wide body and ufs frames. they may look interesting but the problem is that this isn’t a new mold per say. It’s RB using a old mold with a few modifications. Which makes no sense since RB has the most money in our industry they could easily make a new mold that would be the shit. THE TRS series has been going on for the longest time. THe Team Rollerblade Skate was good back in the day and the changes were nice but damn. They do the same thing that Razor did. Tom you might work for them but the only thing you came out with so far is a much nicer frame for the company and a better sole plate for the company. your ability to produce anything worth while died with Fiziks and was never launched with Epoch. Why are you even on the company payroll. You get a whole new crew of riders and leave the ones who were with the company who repped the company hard in the dust. That’s a sign of betrayal and honestly You know, no one trust you in this industry anymore.
August 22nd, 2008 at 7:15 pm
rollerblade stepped it up with the DT4 and Point8, which skate so fucking well. i’m not sure about these. they look average, the instep buckle will be destroyed in 5 minutes and the soul plate is a bit odd. i know this isn’t the final product but still, i think they should of left it a bit before trying to up their game again. they did it perfectly with the Point8 and people will still be appreciating that now, so why try and better yourself like this? there’s only one way for rollerblade at the minute and that’s downwards i’m affraid.
August 22nd, 2008 at 9:34 pm
wow. whatever happend to rb making skates that didnt look like they came from the roller rink? hideous.
August 22nd, 2008 at 9:54 pm
its bullshit that theyre tagging it w the name of the best trs skates ever made estilo . these will never compare
August 23rd, 2008 at 1:39 am
You guys saying this is an old mold are fucking retarded. Honestly, how can you be that blatently stupid? I know the dirk mold, and the only thing remotely similar is the lace system. That’s it. Totally different cuff, and completely different shell. Dirk molds had that massive fucking fin for a heel plate, a wired rise in the backslide area, and a RAISED HEEL. I don’t see any raised HEEL on these fucking skates. Fuck, honestly, Lucas and Legend, go drink some fucking bleach.
Aside form that the soul plates is what kills the look of these blades, Tom, you guys should look into making the soul plate look like part of the boot, rather than a part bolted on. Tom knows his shit, every feature about this skate screams perfromance. In 6 months all you clowns will be dick riding these. Gauranteed.
August 23rd, 2008 at 2:12 am
I’m really glad that I would never skate those in a million fucking years.
I puked in my mouth, way to go RB.
Tom, you had better start looking for a new job because when the sales figures come in, your gone, man.
I’ve been on rollerblades since 1989 and these are the ugliest skates I have seen since Rollerball came onto the scene.
WTF were you thinking?
August 23rd, 2008 at 5:08 am
the shell material looks nice and light, what is the silver under the cut out areas? I hope not metal. I think the plate is not too bad, it could have some shape to it and the walls look too thick. the rear of the plate corner could be smoothed a bit so its not such a right angle like Xsjado and Valo soul plates, that can easily be fixed yourself anyway with a grinder or something. the cuffs look OK. I like the frame concept but the frame would be better if the walls were more defined like the GC Featherlights.
August 23rd, 2008 at 5:22 am
after my Downtown IIIs, i swore to not buy a rollerblade brand skate until i’ve skated nearly every other brand, so i definitely won’t pick up a pair of these for a while, if i ever even do.

the human foot hasn’t evolved enough in the last 10 years to justify trying to come up with a fancy new form for a skate mold, sorry.

it’s a modified dirk mold. i don’t know if bleach helps you see better but if it does you should try some and then look at the pictures again so even you might actually notice the HUGE heel pad.
from what i heard bleach doesn’t taste that good and isn’t very healthy, so just get some glasses?
vincent wrote: “I’ve been on rollerblades since 1989 and these are the ugliest skates I have seen since Rollerball came onto the scene.”
rollerball! damn, why did you have to bring that up? i almost managed to completely forget about those. curse you!
anyway, are you familiar with the cinderella theme?
exactly! these skates have a fairy godmother who will turn a pumpkin into a coach, mice into horses, a rat into a coachman, and lizards into footmen so they can go out and get laid by some prince who might even siihb!
August 23rd, 2008 at 10:04 am
rb info center, may i help you?
Where did you get the “I didn’t see the huge heal pad” from? Infact what does that have to do with ANYTHING I mentioned. I said the heel on this boot shell is not raised, the dirk model was, pre ufs, aka not flat, aka had a massive fin coming down the side of the frame. I assume you know what a RAISED HEEL in rollerblade boot shells means? It means the shell itself has a raised heel. Dirks models did, these, do not. Of course I saw the fucking massive shock absorber ya dumb bastard, I’ve been skating since 96, it’s quite obvious this heel pad raises the heel. But again, the SHELL is flat.

THese are shit skates, But there are always some dumbasses willing to jump on the shit wagon. Gay work RB,
August 24th, 2008 at 12:10 am
I want to ask a question. Where are all those old school sick ass skins they had back in the day like 5 years ago? THose killer white and grey ones the black ones the old estillo skins or even the broskow skins. Why dont they put those out anymore is it that big of an investment company wise to redistribute those being that those were, i would say and i think many others too, one of the most popular products that rollerblade came out with. More importantly can anyone answer me??
i mean innovation is never a bad thing but why turn your back on something that was a success
August 24th, 2008 at 10:33 am
i agree with mike. the old boots and skins were so good. i just ordered myself yet another pair of RB morales even though they came out in 2003. they still look good, they’re durable and relatively light. having skated skinned skates for a year now i don’t think i’ll ever go back to a plain boot. and now i’m off to order some alpha 3 skins tom. maybe you should think about designing a new skin.
August 25th, 2008 at 12:56 am
dude i like them
those frames new t be a little more low profile though..
i liek the roll from the splits and eveything but they look so wierd
August 25th, 2008 at 1:00 am
OH
and its going to be fucking hilarious when these are the best skates ever (which is VERY posible)
because all people do is talk trash
August 25th, 2008 at 5:15 am
Whaaaaaat!!!I hope they remove the buckle because I own a treseder skates & I lost booth because they placed the buckle outside, I really love RB but I’m very desapointed sience thay fired broskow, from there, I can only see bad ideas.& this prototype looks so bad right now.
August 25th, 2008 at 7:03 am
RB = suckers, no matter the products they have !
August 25th, 2008 at 7:10 am
if the old skins fit on em they wont be too bad, but as is they’re ugly as shit
August 25th, 2008 at 7:14 am
also i hate them but they look like they will be beast on your feet even if you look like a goon wearing them
August 25th, 2008 at 8:43 am
no, the old skins won’t fit them unless they remove the instep buckle. well they might, but you’d have a stupid big lump sticking out of the side
August 25th, 2008 at 12:21 pm
the lack of a midsoul won’t help either, you dumb skinheads!
August 25th, 2008 at 12:23 pm
midsouls aren’t neccessary for skins, faggot.
August 25th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
orly, i bet that would make the skate look way better!
and let’s not forget the increase in functionalty!
nobel prize right there.
August 25th, 2008 at 4:11 pm
actually, it would. who wants to skate this as it is with fucking souls that look like they’ve been ripped off Argos skates? skins make every skate look better unless it’s a clean skate like USD thrones or razors. compared to razors these are dirt.
i highly doubt everyone will be putting these on their christmas list.
August 25th, 2008 at 5:28 pm
wait a sec…
you think taking off the soul plates and putting a skin on the skate would be a good idea?
LOLZ!
hey, maybe you can make your own skin out of one of your gucci handbags so they’d match and you’d look like totally hot and stuff.
August 25th, 2008 at 8:10 pm
yeah i am pretty buff actually ;)
August 25th, 2008 at 8:41 pm
well im gonna buy em if i can fit my 03 estillo skins on em
August 25th, 2008 at 9:36 pm

…………..Since when is “5 years ago” old school or even back in the day?…….f!@%#…I’m getting old…And I do not care how they skate, they are UGLY. Really REAAAALLLLYYYY UGLY.
August 25th, 2008 at 10:28 pm
thankyou corey.
August 26th, 2008 at 9:08 pm
Sleezy G. are you really Rob G. Cause you sure are pressing pretty hard for RB. and these skates. I’m not gonna give any other skate companies any more ideas. I’ve already helped out with The 50/50 series to constantly be called a “moron” amongst other things. I’ve helped out with the Razor, RB, and Remz series without being paid, just simply by talking on this message board. I know the next skate coming out and now I’m quite for now on dealing with skate designs, functionality, flaws, ideas, etc… I’ll keep all those to myself. I mean hell I could’ve at least been paid a little something. but nope, just take the idea and run with it. I think that these skates are a creation of Tom Hyser’s mind and either they’ll sink or float. Some people will like them and some will hate them. SO is the way with all products. For now on You folks get nothing from me. I wish you the best of luck with your products and when the shit hits the fan remember that I gave you the ideas. that you would’ve been hurting for more things to do if it wasn’t for me. Those of which I’m speaking to know exactly who you are.
August 27th, 2008 at 3:47 pm
The skate looks really ugly but I wait forward anyway to see the skate inreal, light skate that doesnt fall to pieces right away sounds good.
August 28th, 2008 at 10:43 am
TRS mould without the skin perhaps? Would explain the weird vents in the sides. This skate could look cool if you could fit the TRS soul plates on it and would probably have a better/cheaper to replace soul area.
Loving the “crank straps,” very retro!
Whilst we’re being retro, bring back the dirk!
September 2nd, 2008 at 2:13 pm
whether its a success or failure, its an attempt at innovation,so stop your whinging you industry killing fucks.
