Rest in peace Sean Callahan.
November 19th, 2009 at 6:33 pm
Taken out like a coward. If he took his own life, he’s a chump.
November 19th, 2009 at 6:34 pm
there is no excuse for that ish.
November 19th, 2009 at 7:13 pm
Travis, 4life, please keep your opinions on this matter to yourself. Even as a friend of his, I can’t fully understand the “why.” There’s no basis for you to go passing judgment.
Have some respect for a rollerblader.
Thanks for the thoughts, everyone. Chicago will miss him.
November 19th, 2009 at 7:16 pm

November 19th, 2009 at 8:37 pm
I feel sorry for him. I don’t really support suicide myself. So i must especially pray for his friends and family that they will be able to live and move on and will not be adversely affected by his decision. But still really sorry to hear this happened to him.
November 19th, 2009 at 8:46 pm

you little kids sittin in you’re momma’s house on your computers have no idea what is going through a persons head or what kind of hardships someone is going through when they make a decision to take their own life. You don’t know shit, and I never met the kid but one thing is apparent from the edits – he was a dope rollerblader. So keep your opinion to yourself and pay your respects to the man.
RIP Sean Callahan
November 19th, 2009 at 10:55 pm
he was a great creative skater RIP
November 19th, 2009 at 11:04 pm
Everything post on this website has nothing but little shit talking idiots on it. Makes me sick. The guy who runs this site should either disable comments or quit doing it all together.
R.I.P. Sean Callahan
November 19th, 2009 at 11:14 pm
Like Ras said.
Jees. Can’t believe some of those comments.
Really refreshing skating in those edits!
November 19th, 2009 at 11:15 pm
That lad seemed a like a talanted rollerboy. I thought Seans sections were mint, he looked to have a raw, agro style.Steeze to that. Its reminds me a lot of how my mates seem to roll.It hits home when you think of how his family and friends must feel.No friend or family member wants that to happen to someone they love or are friends with. Reading on here what seemed to have happened to him makes me feel for the guy. He must have not been able to have seen a way out of what he was going through. Some people on here should have a word with them selves for what they are saying and show a bit of respect.
Sean slap, fist to you mate sick tricks, R.I.P
November 19th, 2009 at 11:58 pm

complete lack of disrespect for anybody dead or alive, rollernews you fucking suck.
November 20th, 2009 at 9:27 am
yeah, suicide is a complicated choice. You go to dark places, its like a limbo, and you dont know that you are dead.
It takes some time to figure it out, and that can be years, because the time and space in the universe and the fourth dimension, and all the other dimensions, isn’t like the time on earth and the third dimension, our world.
Time can pass by really quick, or really slow it depends on your perception, and if you are disturbed… well, you get the picture…
its like you get punished for having “forced exit” the game… its kinda bad to speak about this in a time like this, and I feel so bad, cause a friend of ours has just done the same thing here in brazil, we are all very sorry for his loss.
I only feel the urge to speak about this because, I have gone through real hard times, and I know sometimes you go down so hard and you feel so lonely that you feel the only scape is death itself…
one of our friends have commited suicide yesterday, he was also a skater, and he won the latin x games here in brazil, in rio de janeiro. we feel so sorry about this…
I dont know if I sound foolish, but I really feel for them so I had to speak my mind. Its so sad, I went in here for some skate videos, I was shocked,
its so unbelievable…
So, to whoever is reading this and goes through hard times, know that, suicide is the most complicated choice to ever make..
Dont ever do that…dont even think about it, it will surely make things worse, so try to solve them here, while you still know who you are and what you came to do… try to stick to that… and know that,
after the goddam storm comes the sun… and its no bullshit, you dont believe the kind of shit that goes down here in brazil… and I’ve seen miracles.. dont loose hope.
I’m sorry if I wrote too much, and sorry for my bad english.
Fred

Wow. Those sections were AMAZING. I absolutely loved everyone of them…Reminded me of Micah Yeager a bit. The true toe-roll on the U was absurd (in a good way) and the last two tricks of the last section were badass. And good choice of Xiu Xiu to Joe Esquivel.
I’m very sorry about the loss of this truly inspiring skater. You will be missed and I hope that somehow you know that I will be watching these vids before every time I go blade.
Rest In Peace My Friend.

November 20th, 2009 at 12:44 pm
these comments should be removed
Its not nice…these edits were put here to remember how the lad skated. Not find out what happened to him or anything. I presume some of his friends will read these comments. Not good
November 20th, 2009 at 2:45 pm

this is sean’s mom again. we are going to have a service in st. louis on wednesday nov. 25 and a memorial service in newburgh, indiana on saturday nov. 28. because we wanted to bring him home to st. louis and this happened in illinois it is taking more time than expected. there will be an annoucement in the st. louis post dispatch and the evansville courier & press most likely on sunday. anyone is welcome to come to either service.
once again thanks for everyones comments and for posting the videos, as a mom it was always hard for me to watch sean skate live, always thinking he would get hurt, so it’s great to see these videos again and seeing how amazing he was.
i love him and miss him so much
November 21st, 2009 at 10:40 pm
dude from going through depression myself I can say that people should shut the fuck up before making condescending comments on someone elses choices. Sometimes life can be hard to face so leave him alone. Not everyone is hella insensitive some people have complex emotions.

No one here would say anything about him being weak or a chump. I went to school with this guy. I hate hearing this, but either way, he was a good person. Only he knows the reason for his choice.

No one should disrespect his choice in the end as no one will know what he was dealing with in his mind.

So show a bit of respect ok? and for those who dont think the same way as these idiots thanks for the support!

I’ve always enjoyed viewing cinemas with Michael Cain. I was searching for information on Michael and somehow ended up on your site. I’ve found this post interesting. I will take a look at the rest of your blog. Thanks.
