well he did say in that interview that because of problems with the new mould, razor are just going to bring out a genesys model for aragon for the time being. so this could well be that model, it does have a new gc frame, which he also said would have.

New Razors boot got pushed back to christmastime. There are some groundbreaking new design aspects that are still being perfected, shit takes time and with rollerblading being as small and poor as it is right now it’s amazing that they’re doing a new skate at all.
They don’t make wild colors because they don’t sell, and they are a business. if they don’t sell their product, they don’t make money to pay their employees, skaters, or for advertising (which the magazines depend on), or the next batch of skates (and developing new products); and obviously the owner wouldn’t make any money, and who owns a business to lose money?
Just because every single one of the hundred or fewer kids out there who dyed their skates has posted pictures of them on the internet, does NOT mean that every kid in rollerblading wants wild-colored skates. It’s simple supply and demand. And Razors DID put up an instructional podcast about dying their skates, for the few kids who do want wild colors.
Remember, Be-mag only represents a very small cross-section of rollerbladers: just because a majority of be-maggers think dyed skates are sick does not mean you can extrapolate that to mean that a majority of all rollerbladers think wild colors are sick.
Razors probably “just” gave Aragon a Genesys skate now instead of waiting for the new boot because Aragon is way overdue for a pro skate! Dude is fucking amazing and he deserved a pro skate at least a year ago.
Razors does not sell the most skates in the industry… maybe in America. Razors also has the largest flow program in the sport, and support their shops and events like no other. They are not exploiting anything, at least not any more than any other company in our sport:
Roces/Valo- using the ORIGINAL INLINE SKATE BOOTSHELL. Damn near thirty years old!
USD: only good skates are the Thrones, of which the Classic shell is over ten years old, and the UFS Thrones are at least five years old (’bout the same as the Genesys). Their budget skate is a re-worked ten-year-old Fila mold, and the Legacies and Grycons suck. Did anyone here know that the original USD skate, the Damocles, used the same generic bootshell the Cult skates use?
Deshi: popular to what someone said, they have only had TWO structural generations of boots. Re-doing the patterning and colors of the outer skin does not comprise a new model; otherwise you’d have to also count each of the Razors skates that had skins/softtops as a new model. And for god’s sake, Deshi has never even made a decent stock soulplate!
K2: the UFS Fatty’s are just a re-work of the ten-year-old SPB/K55 skate, and the “new” K2’s are about five years old as well, and have not changed AT ALL in that time frame.
Salomon: oh, wait, nevermind.
Remz: UFS remz came out 4.5 years ago, and they have just now released a new soulplate. Once again, cosmetic changes to the skins do not constitute a new skate. And the liners seem to have gotten worse since the 03’s and Haffey models.
Xsjado: still the newest skate in the industry. New boot out in late 2008, four years after the first generation came out.
RB: the TRS is about five or six years old. they reworked the cuff and grind system 2.5 years ago but have actually DOWNGRADED their liners.

Thanks razors for this new “innovative” skate that everyone will buy because it has some dudes name on it. how could these skates have “been made in the early 90’s and passed off as M12’s”? in the early 90’s the few people who were skating were riding lightnings, without low frames, groove, soulplates, backslide plates, flexible cuffs, shock absorbers, nice liners, or wheels smaller than 72mm. you should kill yourself for saying something so stupid.

i don’t believe the attitude of many of the people on this topic. YOU CALL YOURSELVES ROLLERBLADERS???? it is more typical for rollerbladers to be grateful for what is put into their industry, and not bitch and cry over something that they dislike. forget for a moment that these are “aragon” skates…. they are the genesys skates, loved by many rollers the world over. others do not prefer the razors genesys, and will not say much more than they don’t like them, and like remz, xsjado, valo, usd etc better. but as soon as people hear that it has aragon’s name on it, and it is STILL a genesys boot, the genesys mould becomes evil, and worthy of condemnation just because it isn’t a new mould. who cares, this mould will be out in due time, and as i’m sure someone pointed out, kids will still buy them. in short, don’t buy, bitch or be an ass if you don’t like these skates. leave others to buy them and love rollin in them. and p.s NEVER CALL ARAGON A PRICK. he owns everyone here.

this must be a fake ad because 1, i’ve seen the aragon prototypes in person and they look nothing like this and 2, brian says on his myspace that his new boot is an entirly new mold so if they threw away all that hard work just to rerelease another geneseys boot i’d be disappointed as well… and since i already ahve the geneseys 5’s i probably wont want another grey skate… and to whoever said it was the geneseys 5 photoshoped, that is possible but the g5s were a darker grey…
