Razors Aragon 2: Press Release & Video

The Aragon 2 is the first of Razors Superlight (SL) generation of skates and marks a tremendous milestone in Razors’ history.
The skate’s impressive performance stems from Brian Aragon’s years of and skating and Razors experience in designing and manufacturing high-performance skate equipment.

The skate is designed from scratch, every part is new and it features a number of engineering advancements never seen before:
- Baseless Boot Design:
Key to the skate’s revolutionary technology is its baseless boot design. This results in a significantly weight reduction of the skate (over 1 pound less weight), a lower center of gravity and it increases the responsiveness and control of the skate.- Replaceable Sliders:
Two sliders on the outside of the skate hold the soul frame to the boot and can be easily and inexpensively replaced when worn.- Flat Grinding Area:
A flat grinding area and smooth transition to the center groove deliver an effortless performance of tricks such as backslides, royals and front torques. The difference to traditional skates is so impressive that Brian Hicks demanded a law to ban this skate as it makes tricks too easy.- Jug Shock Absorber Footbed:
A new Jug footbed combines a shock absorber and insole in one. Its oversized heel pad effectively protects the foot and a molded reinforcement provides support in the arch area. It fits inside the liner to prevent unwanted shifting or moving inside the skate.- Jug Aragon 2 liner:
The Jug Aragon 2 liner is optimized specifically for the footbed insole and delivers comfort, heel support and a glove like fit as never
experienced before. It features a super strong neoprene gasket with 1 year warranty.- Ground Control Frame:
The Aragon 2 works best with Ground Control’s Featherlite or Formula 1 frames with the grooves of the frame and backslide plate being perfectly lined up. It comes with the GC Featherlite frame which perfectly
complements the skate with its 25 % lighter weight, ultra strength and durability.

March 5th, 2008 at 1:08 pm
Who is Brian Hicks? lawl!
I think the skate looks very nice and even nicer in real life. We expect a white Murda4 SL soon. And more replacement colors please, at least a blue version of the cuffs/souls/bs plate….
March 5th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
.Fx Says:
a white Murda4 SL soon ?????
March 5th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
man 319.90$ is not expensive
in the us the skates are much cheaper than in eu
the Shima 7 were 300€ thats about 440$ when they were released in germany….
March 5th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
can’t wait to get these
can’t decide whether to order form the states or wait till they hit the UK
March 5th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
they look good how they are but i cnt wait to see sum customs or newer models of these. with a remz cuff even to fix the high cuff? =)
March 5th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
they look nice. like an advanced cult skate. it would be alot better with a v-cut cuff. Somebody will put it. until then i will stick to xsjado. but if theres a murda4, im buying it.
March 5th, 2008 at 2:52 pm
wow people just don’t get it. “wah, the cuff is too high.”
flex = broken ankles….. BEND YOUR FUCKING KNEES!!!! LEARN TO SKATE FAST!!!
March 5th, 2008 at 3:02 pm
Brian Hicks ?! lol
March 5th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
if ankles have quality don’t will broke…
good skate but…
problens: high cuff. ugly cuff and single laces…
March 5th, 2008 at 4:17 pm
these look amazing
aragon is not in this video because aragon is a god and he doesnt really exsist.
March 5th, 2008 at 4:27 pm
Yeah the cuff/liners do seem a little high. I’ve been rockin them with v cut cuffs and liners and they are perfect. Only thing i noticed is no shock absorber, so they lean back a lot, but its easily resolved with the gynesis shock absorbers and a bit of duct tape to hold them in place
March 5th, 2008 at 4:33 pm
Im DEFINATELY gonna have to get on those, much prefer them to the look of the genesys boot
March 5th, 2008 at 4:41 pm
nice try ;) , kinda late hehehehe, but nice try. They´re sure good, but nothing too different.
Evolve is XSJADOs or DESHIs. Everything else is just plastic
March 5th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
to heheh, yeah xsjado is improvment, but deshi is probably the worst skate i have ever tryed on, they allways dissopoint me if i try new model on:D.
about aragon skate, yeah design needs a pit over work, i thing double lace system would make it look better, but then again, im sure that razors will make some pro models of it whit double laceing, cause if you look back in time, genesys were whit double laces and allso from cult models, elliots, so there will be some sure in future. Im sure theyl skate good, but i guess, im getting now a g7 whit , v cut cuff, to try how they work, and whit f1 frames. i guess, ill wait a bit and let the new product mature.
March 5th, 2008 at 5:04 pm
the ONLY thing i dont like about them is the price… =/
March 5th, 2008 at 5:42 pm
these seem like great improvements and i’m digging the higher cuff!
why complain about more support?
then again my favorite skate was the oxygen argon.
March 5th, 2008 at 5:43 pm
‘it was built from scratch…’
‘… but they somehow managed to make it look like the cult and genesys boot had an ugly baby.’
-narrator
March 5th, 2008 at 6:20 pm
MSRP: $319 - That’s fucking crazy.
Its still a basic Razors mold.
March 5th, 2008 at 6:28 pm
Razor’s are setting the standards, by keeping there customers closer to them (through podcast), continually innovating new products and extensive Internet marketing.
March 5th, 2008 at 7:41 pm
CANT WAIT TO GET MINE…
THIS VID MAKES MY MIND TO GET A PAIR OF THIS SKATES…….
March 5th, 2008 at 8:04 pm
skates look nice. But can anyone tell me what on earth do they pad those liners with? Burst sofas, old teddies enriched with uranium? They stink like a cat corpse after a few skates. I swear that shit must fuck your feet worse than a set of mouldy air max.
March 5th, 2008 at 10:44 pm
dude, u skate on them for hours, they are closed, it would be EXTREMELY weird they smelled like fricking flowers.
March 5th, 2008 at 10:45 pm
if they smelled*
March 5th, 2008 at 11:47 pm
Im pretty sure aragon hurt his foot, so thats why he isnt in the edit
and also why he hasnt been at the latest comps like bittercold
March 6th, 2008 at 12:01 am
so really sick, didnt like them that much before but now i love them after i seen this edit and the better pics. dont no if to get them or the benny deshis lol fuk.
March 6th, 2008 at 12:58 am
the black looks too fuckin ugly, the gray/white ones were hotter in appearence
March 6th, 2008 at 4:17 am
Bambino was killen it in the edit…shit! I didnt think id like these at first but now that i see them im kinda pissed i got the Icons. only bad thing is that theres gonna be a big chunka change common out the wallet
March 6th, 2008 at 9:12 am
what is the real weight for them in gramms? would be nice to know to compare
March 7th, 2008 at 10:28 am
Rafacarv DUDE. it would be weird if they smelled like flowers but it is even weirder that they smell like no other skates ive ever had. clearly made with the cheapest materials with only one thing in mind, profit
March 7th, 2008 at 8:53 pm
agree whit pete the prize is way cheaper in US than eu.
Eu is ripping of peoples really big time…
Really nice skates from Razors im very impressed.
March 7th, 2008 at 9:53 pm
bit doubious at first but the video has me sold….i’ll be picking me up a pair of these after the invitational
March 8th, 2008 at 9:47 pm
My bad about the no shock absorbers comment. They come with amazing shock absorbers in the liners! lol. Basically an all round perfect skate then!
March 9th, 2008 at 12:33 am
well i think they look like the old m12s i mean its the concept if the thing simplicity makes a good skate. thats where our culture is heading thankfully no more impractical parts or lots of leather its like an ipod who the fuck would fill an ipod with like 10,000 songs its impractical thats the same as these they are back to the core of the boot thats why i want the m12s i prefer them to these but the concept is the same.
