Rachard Johnson: Remz Os Edit

rachard johnson

Thanks Tafiola_22.

2009.04.15 ; quoting a mail from Oli Benet:

The rumors are true.

The skate brand USD and the legendary Rachard Johnson have parted ways.

As the years pass and new skaters push the boundaries of the sport it seems unfair not to give the chance for new stars to shine.

As the years pass the sport continues to fail to grow in strength and the world crisis darkens, we had to take a look at our team situation and react accordingly.

We would like to sincerely thank Rachard Johnson for his many years of Loyalty to USD and his work in helping USD get to where it is on the map.

Rachard Johnson will always be one of the key figures in making USD what it is today.

  4. Lee Says:

Rachard is an idol but he made nothing for the last 2 years? I understand USD fired him, I doubt he’s on remz too.

  5. Alexander Says:

Ahh man thats so gay, RJ = classic throne

  6. Jake Says:

YEah man, If USD can’t pay him anymore, doesn’t mean he can’t be involved with USD and skate classic thrones. I doubt he is on the Remz team so why not keep skating his promodel? I am sure USD will give him all the free skateshe needs.

  7. me tink... Says:

i think rachard made more poeple buy a usd-skate than every other guy thats on their team now.

  8. Mic Says:

me tink…. every other guy on the usd team is skaitng the deshi carbons basicallly

  14. josee Says:

    why rachard left the usd?

  15. at least Says:

no it’s USD who left Rachard hahaha

  16. josee Says:

this was the baddest decision of USD…

  17. josee Says:

    after legacy :)

  18. pete Says:

hahaha, it was actually rachard and Davee Blair who were in germany designing the legacy skate

  19. Decepticon Says:

    Rachard just got more pap.

  20. popcorna4 Says:

bad move on usds part this guy has been killing it 4 over 10 years and you drop him fuk usd props to kato if he put him down

  21. PORTAS Says:

The word legend is banded around all to easily in the rollerblade world. Rachard is one of the few whos past glory should in my opinion justify him being sponsored for the rest of his skating days.

  22. Silvestre Says:

    left fucking field……

    sagona= carbons
remz did just get a gangsta ass lean added to
    rachard = remz its repertoire

usd = hooi, Eisler, Demetrios, Carlos ?

i hope the rumors aren’t true usd is going usd a.k.a. up side down

  23. Paul Says:

I don’t like usds in particular but it would be really bad if usd would close down. bad for the industry. in the meantime, rachard is lookin pretty good on those OSs. big up

  24. RobF Says:

    http://www.usd-skate.com/team.html

    lazy web master.

  25. Beef Says:

USD isn’t shutting doors. They’re combining with Deshi. Reason for the lay off is that they want to keep a small team that they can actually afford to pay well and provide them all with a pro model, which was the original business model for USD. When I heard RJ was one of the ones let go I was rather confused. Although not in his prime he does a lot for their image and hes an OG. But to compete in our poor ass industry you have create more exposure then he did and they just couldn’t justify keeping him on the pay roll. I mean his last section was what 20 to life ? Same with sagona, who from what i hear is about to get the axe himself and just start skating carbons. there’s no good news about rollerblading ever it seems

  26. Oli Benet Says:

What baffles me is everywhere on the internet i look people have inside information about someone getting fired, companies dropping their teams, riders switching teams, massive changes..and for the most part theres not much sense in it.

Some skaters on USD have been allowed to help us test out the Carbon skates and have subsequently fallen in love with them. As this is a project we have been working on for a long time and will surely expand as feedback is absolutely brilliant, we are more than happy to have as many people as possible using this skate as we release it. Sagona, Kelso etc are still 100% USD brand skaters, but have been allowed to skate the Carbon at this time.

  27. at least Says:

Rachard has designed the Legacy, if it was some good skates he would be still part of the team I think.

  28. Jay Says:

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rachard was awsome on USD, man this suks imo

oh well we just gotta let it be.

dosent rachard’sstyle look diff on those remz though? or is it jus me?

  29. LARJ Says:

EY YO SUP MY NIGGAS LIVIN LARJ N SHIT.

    N E 1 WANT 2 TRADE ME AN X-BOX 4 SOME SK8′S?

  30. hoax34 Says:

Whoa! this is crazier than than watching the 6th Sense for the first time. NEVER saw that shit coming!

  31. Gigi Says:

wow RJ was on the USD for so long… it’s like imaging Chris haffey skating USD, even if rachard has never been a team leader to me.
Everybody on carbons again? I need to try them…

  32. moe Says:

    fuuuuuuuck usd

  33. THEBOSS Says:

    Haha I like it haterzz!

  34. Bang Boom Says:

    Oli is a bitch.

  35. Naz Says:

wow i dont know about you but i ve been skating for a whyle, and when i think usd i think RJ and Sagona off the bat, this is the main reason the foundation of american capitalism is falling apart, that and sadomy. haha no but really hard to imagine USD without Rj and Rj without usds

  36. Egore Says:

Im sure RJ must be very mad at usd for letting him go, so im proposing that he let me have all his usd classic and ufs thrones he has lieng around his house just to let his anger go a little. :)

  37. Seth Says:

I think its about time some of these older bladers get dropped from the teams to make room for all the incredible up and coming skaters who haven’t been getting any recognition from the companies they skate for. Rachard hasn’t put out anything amazing in years. Personally I have never been a huge fan, but his HYPE section is the last section by him I liked.

  38. masseffect Says:

Its called evolving, companies only want people who are still in their prime, winning comps and shit or at least competing. Rachard is still dope as fuck, just not in his prime. You gotta straight kill shit to make it (or stay) anywhere on an industry recongized company team. peace.

  39. uoém Says:

    Carbon cut feet?!

  40. ihatealot Says:

FUCK DIPSKATE AND THAT GAY ASS SONG BROKE ASS NIGGA TRYNA TRADE X BOX FOR SKATES HE GOT FOR FREE, (IF THATS REALLY LARJ) YEA AND FUCK THAT INITIAL SHIT, DOPE SKATER BUT FUCK THAT JIM JONES ROLLERBLADE SHIT, HE AINT DOING SHIT AND THE NIGGAS WHO SKATE AND REP THAT AND WACK, PRIME FACT RAMELLE SORRIEST RAPPER IN DA BRONX OLD LOOKIN TURTLE NIGGA, CHECK HIS MYSPACE

  41. yadida Says:

damn calm down “ihatealot” hahah.. looks like you aint got anything else to do but hate.. this is dope.. if richard wants to skate remz.. then fuck it.. let him do it.. and dipskate isnt gay.. if you were offered to be on dipskate and in the same position im sure you would take it.. just becuase your prolly not from the hood doesnt mean that they cant represent rollerblading the way they want to.. LETS STOP THIS HATE, WE ALL ROLLERBLADE..

shits dope by the way richard!! keep it up..

  42. richy Says:

Is USD goin bust or something,, They cant they are the best skates out!!

  43. Stu K Says:

rachard fell off big time, he doesnt even stand out now, hes done nothing since for 3 and that wasnt exactly legendary, pros need to step up to the new standards or move out, because you were good 7 years ago companies should keep paying you???no why should a company pay someone who does fuck all to push the brand. I seen him skate a bit in cali last year on numerous occasions and not one trick even mildly impressed me infact the most memerable thing was that every one of his 540s was about 1 foot high over the jump box…

  44. ihatealot Says:

I live in Camden NJ right off da exit fucks wit me I’d pistol whip every nigga on da dipsate team with a microhpone

  45. lol Says:

rachard been uploadin slot of edits lately

  46. adam johnson Says:

Hey STU, you can keep paying people because if you put all the flow riders for USD in a line with Rachard and showed 99% of the world the lineup they would be able to name 2-3 people and everyone would be able to identify Rachard.

Brand loyalty for 10 years means you find ways to keep people around. Just my opinion, I don’t work for the brand, but I know that Rachard does a lot to promote his products and is one of the most widely recognized pro skaters in the world. Transcends language barriers with swag.

  47. Danielson Says:

I LOVE IT!!!! Remz is blowing up HUGE!!!!! First they picked up Franky M, because RB was dumb enough to let him go, which I think was one of the biggest loses (RB), and one of the biggest gains (REMZ) in rollerblading history. And now this. Picking up RJ is almost as big of a gain for Remz as Franky was. (I know I’m only speculating here, but I’m pretty convinced that REMZ will put him on the team for name recognition alone. No disrespect to Dom Wagner, Conner O’Brien,or Nick Wood, but his name means more than all those guys combined.) And think about it… Franky wasn’t on top of his game when he left RB, but he was still a HUGE name. But after he joined Remz, it lit a fire under his ass, and now he’s skating out of his mind. Franky added a 2nd legitimate superstar to the Remz lineup, and it isn’t a stretch to imagine the same with RJ. I also like the fact that he’s skating the OS models, because eventhough Franky
“pioneered” the OS models, he now skates the originals. I see a bright future with RJ being the face of the Remz OS. I honestly believe that Remz now has the best allaround team. Guys from different cultures, with different skillsets. You got superman Haffey, with the balls to the walls approach. Dom Wag with that European creativity. Franky bringin the sickest steez to weaken yo mamma’s knees, and hopefully RJ’s squeaky clean swtiches. They got the whittest of white guys to the highest in the hood, and everything in between. Having this much talent and diversity will only do GREAT things for the company. The only thing that could top this would be (fingers crossed) ALEX BROSKOW!!! But I know that won’t ever happen, because he loves Valo, plus he only skates stiff boots (RB, Roces, Valo)
And NO WAY should RJ keep skating USD eventhough he’s not getting paid anymore. That is just stupid! Imagine if you were pro for a company as long as Rachard has been with USD. You helped grow that company, and you sold alot of product for them. Now imagine that they fired you all of a sudden. Would you really wanna keep skating them for free? Or would you try to make some money, and recreate your reputation with a more innovative company, that is only getting bigger? If you say you’d stay, then you are either a liar, or a retard.
And as for the USD guys riding Deshi’s thing…. C’mon, don’t you guys realize buy now, that USD and Deshi are joined at the hip. Half(or more) of Deshi Riders use USD souls, and occasionally skate USD (colin Kelso). And now all these USD guys are skating the new carbons. Big deal, they’re all Conference companies, so whats good for one is good for all. Besides USD will never die. Eventhough I don’t personally like them, they are probly still the most popular/widespread skates today.(Plus there is no substitute if you wanna cess slide)
And to the guy who said that RJ riding Remz is like Haffey skating USD…. Haffey DID skate USD before he became the frontman for Remz, grommet.

  48. Danielson Says:

And oh BTW,, EVERYONE HERE SHOULD BE KISSING DIPSKATE’S ASS!! I mean it! I am a rocker, and have always been. But the fact of the matter is that there are ZERO rockbands that support us the way that Dipset/ Dipskate does. And there are no other hip-hop outfits/ other rappers that do either. So you little bitches should be thankful that Dipskate and
B unique are as mainstream as thay are. They are the ONLY ones getting us some GOOD exposure right now. Besides, even if you aren’t into Dipset or Dipskate, or even the NYC scene, it helps that those guys are as popular as they are. With them representing us, that is atleast helping to destroy our image as faggots in spandex. Maybe we can get some REAL CREDIBITLITY because of them. So instead of crying like spoiled little bitches, maybe we should be THANKFUL that there are people out there, busting their asses to give you a better future. As much as it sucks, we won’t get any support from too much of anybody else, until we become popular again. So I say, nommatter what kinda music, or culture each of us is into…. We should all support B unique and Dipskate. I know I will. (What is it called when a dipskate member goes to the bathroom? It’s a dipshit.Hahaha. Stupid, I know, I’m sorry for that)

  52. MB Says:

This why it is horribly terrifying that Jon Jon Bolino dropped out of high school to skate full-time. He is an awesome skater, but damn, if Rachard can get dropped. It is hard enough to get a job with a college degree, let alone a GED. All my best to him. I think Rachard and Franky on the same team will create a whole new market in itself.

Ive never love USD , now they act like nosense, cuz when i think usd , i think rachard J, now he is gone , i think usd have no identity

  55. sim Says:

well I agree, the last good thing seen from Rachard is long ago and if you get paid you should also do something. I need to work to get my money too. Rachard is a good guy but just judging without know the backgrounds is not easy.
I think USD still has a dope team with carlos, Dom, Sean, Billy, Demetrios, Richie, Jeff, Hooi and all the other guys…

so the people who ride for “pro boots” are getting smaller, does that mean that the WRS “pro list” is getting smaller to? whahahahahahaha you guys should re-write the concept

  60. juice Says:

I agree with Danielson. Bunique/Dipskate are definately helping the industry. They’re re-introducing rollerblading to the mainstream. Btw, his skates look so nice. I would get those if I skated Remz. Be a Rocker, hip-hop, emo, or hipster, whatever style you represent does not matter. All that matters is you have boots on your feet with wheels underneath them.

that ihatealot is a cornball. come to NYC and say that Shit to Ramelle. You Jersey kids are lames. Use to have love for ya’ll, werd.

  65. Scott Wilcoxson Says:

Firing Rachard is like cutting off your right hand. Not a wise move. The world doesnt care about 360 top souls. Presence is what counts.

  66. ninja9 Says:

I agree w/ danielson, except that dipset/dipskate & B.unique help the most for blading exposure. Valo also gets a bit of exposure to outsiders, also just from making sick looking skates that look cool to outsiders of the sport because they are like shoes gets alot of exposure

  67. WOW Says:

this is a bigger shock then when usd let feinberg go but it was generally the same scenario it just saddens me to see rollerblading in the state it is today and with the economy the way it is i wonder if rollerblading will ever be were it was years ago, whos to say?

  68. brad bruce Says:

    i wont be buying USD’s.

Shouldn’t have let him go…. big mistake – just like it was for RB to let go of AB, FM and the rest. good luck USD…

I can’t wait to see rachard bounce back in USD’s FACE!!!!!!!

yo, RJ – do your thing!

  69. joao gilberto Says:

Juice and Scott wilcoxson, I love you too! no more words, this is rollerblading wisdom you too got, along with danielsen, I wish there was more people like this in the “command center” of rolling. take skateboarding for instance… you got steeve caballero a 40 year older that made a living off skateboarding, still skates, and every single one of the skateboarders have mad respect for him… no wonder why rollerblading has no identity… no more to add… just a bad move by USD… reminds me of rollerblade letting all riders go, in their best shape…

  70. shamu Says:

Jeff Dalnas moves up to USD Pro

ONE has just confirmed with Jeff Dalnas that he is indeed now riding Pro for USD. After having just officially joined the team in February, Jeff’s move from Am to Pro in such a short time seems unprecedented in recent years for a brand like The Conference which prides itself on long-term relationships. “I was pretty surprised myself, but the move to USD has been great. I thought when my last sponsor fired me it was the worst thing that could happen,†said Jeff, “but instead I ended up with this cool opportunity.†So congrats to Jeff for his new post, and a tip of the hat to USD for picking up a talented shredder. It seems the change is part of a larger shake up at the German-based blade conglomerate, with more details (maybe) coming soon.  ONE

  71. Ghostface_Killah Says:

Im ordering mine today, so you will have to stop rolling on them now so, hehe!

  72. joe mizzom Says:

gawd..I hope remz dont do something STUPID like give him a pro skate. Much respect to him but theres much more people skating just as hard if not harder than him…ie some euro cats. if they do then ill know that they respect image more above than anything else. THINK.

  73. Azn Jon Says:

If RJ leaves USD- USD will burn and be no more. lol

  74. enter Says:

man its seems like rollerblading as whole will burn, 1st Feinberg then Johnson, what the fuck is going on??

  75. dka Says:

    REMZ Bitch!!! 09
    WELCOME SON!

  77. Chapster Says:

It was probably becasue he was on Bully Beat down on Mtv…..

  78. Danielson Says:

This topic brought out alot of the the things that needed to be said about rollerblading. It seems like alot of us are starting to look past ourselves, and trying to make something real for us all. I’m optimistic about our future, and that’s the first time I could ever say that since I first began to skate. Sure, when I started it was better times. But, we were on our way down. For the 1st time, in my ten dedicated years, I see us moving forwards, and that is pretty cool.

  79. Billy Says:

i think letting rachard go wasnt such a bad move it saves them(usd) a fair bit in the long run and helps newer talent get repped like jeff dalnas , but the bigger mistake by usd was letting steven swain go whonow skates for rollerblade he would have been more than sutible to replace rachrd considering in a lot of comps hes aragons biggest rival and almost always finishing in the top 3 but this move by usd gives rachard a fresh start an i say gud luk …..im still on his usd ther the best!!

  83. dave Says:

u guys are dumb rachard is on remz get over it.
