After his first place finish in the prelims, Marc Englehart was up all night doing a rain dance. Still, the vert comp went off without a hitch. Taïg Khris threw down; Shane Yost killed it, but in the end, nobody could top the original golden boy, Takeshi Yasutoko.

Here is an ad that is currently broadcasted in France. It’s about the Fiat Grande Punto car and features a rollerblader. The skater don’t do anything too fancy (he rolls, do a 360 and launch a soul) but it was a nice surprise to discover it ! Anyone got an idea of the skater’s name or details about the ad ? (was it even shot in France ?)
Here is an interview of Jojo Jacobi ; if you don’t know Jojo, he is the organiser of the Winterclash Contest, works at Ignition Skateshop and he’s a pretty good skater !
What is Rollerblading for you ?
Rollerblading is what I am…
Sounds stupid.. I know! But what would I be without all the traveling in the last years, all the experiences, the friends in so much different countries? What would I be without all the good times on skates, the chill sessions with my best friends at the local skatepark and the feeling at big and even small events ? A lot of people are answering this question the same way and you probably think its just stereotype stuff.
But it isn’t!!! I´m skating for a bit more than 9 years now, that’s nearly the half of my life. Since the first Winterclash i have Rollerblading in my head for 24/7. I had a normal job in a shoe store. During the day at work i thought about new ideas all the time. When there was nothing to do i just walked around as if i would be on drugs – just because i had so much stuff in my head. In the evening after the work i run back at home to my computer and started to work again for what i was believing in. I slept 4-5 hours a night, lost friendships, wasn’t able to see my parents once a week and saw my girlfriend just in the bed.
But that was exactly what i wanted to do! I had ideas and i wanted to realize them. Why? Because i love rollerblading and without it, i would be a completely other person. And with the Winterclash i got my chance to give something back. [...]
