One: Q & A with Colin Kelso (Video)

Thanks to Austin Paz’s computer and Mike Johnson’s hospitality, ONE was able to get Colin Kelso on video chat for his issue #11 feature interview.
Hear Colin himself discuss juggling school and blading, his involvement with R&D for Deshi, filming for “The Truth 2,” why he’s skating freestyle, and a lot more.

Colin was probably thinking, “Why the hell does this guy ask so many damn compound questions?”

this interview wasnt very good, there are better more basic questions he could have asked.
Also the way he asks the questions is wierd. the ONE mag is also the same way. The old daily bread mag interviews were allways great.

i like having eisinger asking questions. support the media!
October 14th, 2008 at 2:52 am
i hate eisinger’s pseudo intellectual questions
October 14th, 2008 at 6:04 am
but it was funny to see him nosing around about the conference like it was a monopoly

eisinger always comes off as uninformed in these interviews.
there are loads of skaters who are only sponsored by the one distribution/ manufacturing company.
if he formed his questions better then the interviewee could actually give us some useful information.

I’m not a huge fan of Eisengers interview style.
October 14th, 2008 at 11:27 am
i agree with Paul Cargill….. Eisengers interview style is well needs a lot improving!
Wise words from Mr C Kelso as always!

his interview style is to talk to the people like a conversation. here we’re complaining about how he does it but noting that we liked what colin said, so really i guess it’s a good interview!

yeah i agree with those who arent a fan of JE’s interview style, like when he interviewed shima in ONE, it was like ackward esp. the question about comparing NIMH skates to other skates with skins…so ackward
October 14th, 2008 at 7:14 pm
Well his style would be awkward not “ackward”. I feel both were to blame for the lack of substance in this interview.
October 14th, 2008 at 7:28 pm
Hes bad at making it sound like a conversation, it allways seems awkward and dumb. He talks way to much also. The interviewee should have solid questions he can answer thoroughly.
I hope he reads these so he can work on his interview style and improve.

Best skating ever! CK

how about the time when JE was interviewing Oli Short and he asked Oli if he likes Gang of Four (a band) and Oli said not really and then JE proceeded to ask him to describe the band.
His writing style is the reason i didn’t re-up my One subscription. Sorry, but its the damn truth

MOAR HATE FAGZ =)

It felt like JE was setting Collin essay questions. They were all long and over complicated for the subjects he was covering. Still it’s nice to have these interviews. I didn’t know much about Collin Kelso before, so I feel enlightened by an experience.

Justin is a really good interviewer. Really nice subjects and real-life exposure : ) , great…. make the kids closer to the pros.
Congrats for both… Justin and Kelso.
But I would say “skate harder being smarter” heheheheh
