One: Q & A with Chris Farmer (Video)
In his issue #14 interview, Chris Farmer opened up to ONE like we were Barbara Walters. He told us about playing in his brother’s band, realizing skating was a job, and why he dicks around at contests. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
For an in-depth look at what’s going on inside the mind of one of blading’s most prolific innovators, be sure to check this out.

November 9th, 2009 at 4:12 pm

November 9th, 2009 at 4:45 pm

November 9th, 2009 at 5:00 pm

November 9th, 2009 at 5:42 pm
ha that must be so shit being put on the spot for essentially live interview for the web you just sound like a regular 24 year old – when you kids reach that age then you can criticize, he was getting paid to skate at 16! peace chris!

Framer looks like John Lennon. It’s cool he dedicates his life to skating, he is very good at it but how long will this last and then what will he fall back on. A music band, there can only be one John Lennon

nice, interesting! keep on skating farmer!!!

Good job Eisinger. Most of the themes proposed are very open and allow the interviewee to say a lot of different things that aren’t conventional. Might need to avoid those little improv¡sed bits that make the question long and difficult to understand, but brilliant results anyway. I think the “farmorphosis” is one of the most discussed topics in this industry and this is the one interview that has got that out very clearly.
Keep them coming!

I want to hang out with Chris, great skating and awesome taste in music.
November 9th, 2009 at 9:29 pm
A must!
Thank god for interviews with pro athlets: they keep it short’n true !
November 9th, 2009 at 10:47 pm
that was pretty sweet. although i was tempted to count all those ya knows and i dunnos haha… there were alot of them. Guess after the blading career, he`ll do the same thing that feinberg does… going back to catch up on his school diplomas

That was great, it’s nice to get a feel for how pros are as people rather than just watching them skate. I would rather have had this interview in a magazine, because I’d prefer reading to Chris’ rather droning voice being sent over Skype, but meh.
Would love to see an interview like this with Nick Wood, bet it’d be funny shit!

That’s why ONE printed it in issue #14, as the description on Vimeo and the ONE site says.

Thankyou one that was great as it was funny, interesting and surprising and that is a rare combination to have in rollerblading interviews so hats off to you and chris for that great insight.
November 9th, 2009 at 11:30 pm
John Lennon was a rollerblader, Paul Skateboarded. They didn’t get on. Sick interview.
November 10th, 2009 at 12:15 am
lol Have you ever seen John Lennon his face is totally different!
November 10th, 2009 at 1:47 am
that interview would be a lot cooler if they interviewed somebody else
November 10th, 2009 at 2:25 am
That is about the worst interviewer I’ve ever seen, the person here complimenting the interviewer can only be the interviewer himself, i will accept no other explaination.. step 1 ask clear concise questions that ask for a direct response
November 10th, 2009 at 4:22 am
haha you dickheads, at the end of the day for all you people who are slating chris farmer etc, you dont get payed to blade, and you aint getting the sections in the videos and your not getting pro skates…. so untill that time, sit down and shut your mouths! you have no clue whats going on… idiots!
November 10th, 2009 at 4:23 am
one more thing, you lot who are saying how shit it was and all that probably blade razors… hahaha .. razors…
November 10th, 2009 at 8:13 am
why dont you all go skate instead of dissing andd bitching so much :L
farmer is the man
peaceeeee
November 10th, 2009 at 9:44 am
Hmmm another skater who tries to differiate himself by looking as a i give no fuck about anything hippy skater… and drinks beer at a interview cus that makes u rad!
Dont misunderstand me hes a pro at skating and more then worth being paid for skating! far beyond my skills… but the way they put down their act as a person is sooo badd….
And skype interviews are gay! gain some money to visit the man for a decent interview.. at skating everything has to be lowbudget but the companys earn big bucks… but not willing to spend some money on community improvement
November 10th, 2009 at 11:15 am
Chris Farmer is the sickest nastiest narly fucker. yip!
November 10th, 2009 at 11:56 am
lalla, whoah – that whole look in blading was pretty much Farmer’s invention! He’s not “another” one of them! I’m sure he’s just drinking beer ‘cos he’s at home and likes to chill with a beer.
I liked that – Farmer is one of those most talked about pro’s, there’s so much good and bad gets said about him, so much to discuss that its nice to see him being able to speak for himself for once!
November 10th, 2009 at 3:34 pm
Most creative Rollerblader in the game. Chris went from a follower to a leader. And Im sure hes drinking a beer to look rad.lol. People have been drinking beer for at least 9,000 years bce. Seems like a chill guy who just loves to skate. Hating on farmer is like a christian hating on Jesus.
November 10th, 2009 at 7:36 pm
so so good to hear this interview. plenty of time to get his personality. i completely agree with his contest attitude
November 10th, 2009 at 8:07 pm
So he didnt enter IMYTA Detroit and Atlanta? Trying his little heart out to win by switch true fishbraining the rail and 540 kindgrinding it, once in the semis and again in the final.
Farmer is a top top rollerblader but the reason he doesnt enter competetions is surely cause he could never ever place against the likes of Haffey or Aragon in a skatepark
November 10th, 2009 at 9:54 pm
Also props to Chris for mentioning Latimer, every legend to be need to give respect to the legend before him.
November 10th, 2009 at 11:06 pm
if you are given a platform to interview someone why not utilise it and put some interesting questions to them? I have much respect for JE but his waffling, ambiguous questions made for weak answers on boring subjects.
November 11th, 2009 at 4:05 am
How can any one hate on Chris Farmer ???
I swear this site is full of too many children who know fuck all about there sport and slander people they never meet just because they look and skate different. Which by the way has proberly made 40% of rollerbladers change there styles and skating. Have you seen any of his sections? I don’t think I could name a bad one. He is the very thing thats is getting our sport away from that repetitive 540 tru mizou crap and becoming a more imaginative unique sport.
My view is if you don’t reliese how much of an impact a rollerblader like Chris Farmer has made on this industry then you shouldnt be skating PERIOD.
November 11th, 2009 at 4:44 am
if you get paid its a job .,,,, so i dont agree when you say a ( real job ) mabye the right word could use is a (standar job) and you dont want to live that experience
November 11th, 2009 at 7:54 am
If your going to critique every aspect of the interview (boring, rambling, pointless questions) why don’t you interview chris and post it. How fucking sick are we all of questions like: Where did you think skating is going in the future? or Where is the industry headed? Fuck you sluts. I thought it was cool.
Send your own edits, interviews, products, ect. to sites like rollernews and be-mag. If they are good I guarantee they’ll post it. I’m just sick of people hating on editing styles, filmwork, tricks and skating style. If you think you can do any better – send it in! I’d be delighted to watch it. Until then fuck yall.
November 15th, 2009 at 5:31 pm
