That was one of the first skate videos that literraly made a mark in my memory. It wasn’t very popular back in the day when we were used to the zillions of tricks that gather in each VG release.
What Barely Dead has done it has been done before by One Love (documentary style, shoulder camera filming, interwiews and inside-wiew of the sport), no surprise also there are some of the skaters featured in One Love too.
It’s gonna be good to compare Barely Dead to One Love and see how much things have changed.

    aah yes, it is!

I cant believe ive gone 11 plus years of rolling and never seen this video!thanks for putting it up,This for me represents probably one of the best periods in rollerblading in my opinion,Certainly makes me want to go skate ,ore than any of the current big hitting dvds ive seen in the last month.

For me this just captures what rollerblading is more than other documentarys have done.I love it when a film makes you grin like a kid again.
    thanks

So many old school arizona spots are in this movie…early ground works to cement our sport…hopefully barely dead can have an impact that progresses our sport into mass media…cuz the industry needs it to survive

ya i was so confused when i saw this on rollingclassics’s youtube, i thought it had to have been some kind of smug indie film release only, but apparently it turns out to have been just a regular skate vid release i some how missed. i must have watched this 5 or more times since yesterday

I barely remember this video, but I do remember it. It makes me feel like an old man… When JP said “7 or 8 years” I realized how long it’s been. Barely Dead 1

  22. Jack from OZ Says:

awsum! brings back memories of the “golden days” of aggressive inline even though i was really young then, and when i got my helmet signed by Randy spizer and his mate when i was living in sweden in 97, great doco and a great insight into what was and what has become of the sport since then and as long as we roll and support and do what ever we can it will last.
