One: 15 MINUTES with Dave Paine

David Allen Paine is 38 years old and living the dream… no, seriously, he is! He quit a very stable, decent-paying job — probably with a union — one that your parents told you to get after college, where after your 40 years of services you’re on Easy Street.
But he wanted more out of life and wasn’t going to settle just for a decent job. Dave had dreams and he made them come true.
At a young age he always wanted to skate and film. Growing up in the Philadelphia area is where he cut his teeth, and in the early ’90s, like most of you now, found that filming could be just as gratifying as skating. Now he’s been rolling and filming for 17 years.
He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Irene, and works for the action sports TV channel Fuel.

DAP will always be the main reason rollerblading got so much exposure. I remember watching VG 1 and then in the summer 18 days and Dare to Air came out… I was hyped. VG was the main source that started all of the other kids out there to start filming. Best damn video series of all time for rolling and can never be touched – it was and still is in a league of its own! VG 4 was my old school fav – but those were the days of rolling when it was so good. NSGA trade shows in Chicago / HOAX Video premieres and after parties / NISS comps… It was all good back then. So glad to have had that time in my life and still be able to roll today! For all the old schoolers we know what VG was to us… Thanks Dave!

I’m with Nick up there. Can we get a muthafuckin VG box set up in here? Remember that DB box set from like 2003, with Transcend, Forest Fire, Under the Influence and Quatro? All autographed by dudes like Schrijn, Beau Cottington, Fade Hurricane… such a stellar release.

Hey romy dom^ If you would have read the article then you would know the answer. Dave Paine IS a rollerblader and is 100% committed to getting it on TV. Its not as easy as it sounds but its only a matter of time before rolling will be seen in millions of households worldwide. You can take my word on that.
