It’s an “art form”. It’s a way of living, an idea of the world. It’s about pushing the limits, painting your civilisation in the true colors of rollerblading… Being there, but not quite. It’s a moisty kiss on the forehead.
JK. Well CJ, Kanashima and so forth are way more stylish than 75% of the pros, and I’m not even willing to discuss that.

yeah its an art form but its also one of the most hardcore sports out there
any sport can be considered an art form
and most people do think their sport is an art form
especially skateboarders, but i believe its not as much of an art form as rollerblading thats for sure
but rollerblading is probably one of the most athletic things out there
its kinda of like gymnasitcs combined with a hardcore workout
in fact if you worked out and trained as hard as lets say football players do
it would help you out more in rollerblading than it would in football to train that hard
brian aragon is probly the only pro i can think of thats an athlete
his skating is perfect, he stretches and works out
you never really see him fall either
thats a true professional for sure

kids- don’t you think that austin paz made tiny little videos with just his friends in them at one point? (the kelsos didn’t have to because majette was making the flicks in philly) what if someone told austin not to make videos anymore and people hated on his movies online and coerced people not to buy them. you might not even have your precious truth 1 or 2. (don’t get me wrong, I think truths are great. I also plan on getting this one, hawke has heart)

Depends on your perspective South Bronx.
Some do take the “art form” part toooooooo far and replace sick creative rollin’ with over-editing and HD shots of crap lines wearing girl’s jeans (sorry to generalise, but hey). You can roll and film “artistically” without the pure hardcore nature of what we do being jeopardised…..Mindgame’s “Words” video is a textbook example.
Some of the “arty” stuff has undoubtedly (the point to which I think Portas is referring to) taken away from the hyper-tech tricks on handrails/Feinberg and B.Campbell “stunt” tricks/”hammers”/540 grinds side of things which undoubtedly progressed the “level” of what we can do.
Words, Fruitbooter, Ego, KFC 3, that sort of thing.

the other day paul, daniel, andrew and myself got in a big fight with some bikers at the flow haha and the GL2 was broken in the process so i finally took out a loan and and bought a sony fx1000 and a death lens for it so everyone is really excited to start for the new vid in alllllll HD haha
