Well this is a nice surprise.
I’ll be sure to pass along all the love to the 2 or 3 animators that made our Powered Suit robot a pro blader! :)
I’m the director of these ads, and I know me and the head of 3D over at Fuel put a lot of time into choosing what ‘tricks’ this metal guy pulls off through each spot. The Japanese clients left that mostly up to us, except for the occasional ‘Make it more exciting’. My faves are the butterfly spin off the tunnel wall, and the grind on the freeway (plus how he lands out of it on the building). I can tell you guys we ABSOLUTELY referenced 75% of it from highlight reels… and made up one or two things ourselves. The animators deserve a lot of love. Most fun job I’ve ever been on.

if you go frame by frame, when it cuts from the shot of the 270 trick to the low angle shot of the free way,the trick is now royal… so basically it did 270 back unity to budget back royal…. and if you look close you can see it do the movements from the switch up…. pretty neeto

you know the only time two different car companies do a commercial like this style is because they know that our sport out of all the action sports is not only the coolest (as shown in their ad) but also is the hottest and hugest outside of america. Makes me proud to skate. I just hope all that exposure twinkles down to our industry and gives us more money. and opportunities.
