a lil bit starnge, but not bad… i like the soulplates.

  2. shifty Says:

    i mean strange

  3. hate Says:

honestly, these skates are pretty ugly. they look like like razors w/ skin and different soul. yeahhhh im sorry guys these skates is my oppinion, are pretty generic and unoriginal. not to be a hater. those skates are prettttyyyyy ugly. sorry shima.

  4. Ville Says:

Well in my opinion they look pretty cool.

  5. antonj Says:

i kinda like thoose skates actually

even if they are a bit strange

  6. Frank Says:

there are some other points to qualify a skate exept the look! I’d really like to give it a try…
What I dont like is the make your own groove concept and the skin.
First cause it can be hard to get a groove if you mostly roll in skateparks
Second cause I cant see the sense of a skin exept to give more weight to the skate and looking ery ugly after a short while…

But hey! Let’s see how the skate performs!

  7. andreas542 Says:

    valo

  8. victor Says:

fresh! they look like superman boots, cool design, but they have in that setup a black GC frame, so what the hell? did shima just get a new black version of that frame?

  9. Sad Says:

    Really disappointing …
    Another Valo skate …

  10. blut Says:

    my next skate for sure

  11. .Fx Says:

Shima states that he likes it simple yet they come with a skinned boot and a toeless area. Kinda disapointing.

  12. pete Says:

be honest they look shit…cause they do

good for them there trying to make the industry better but they look crap.
design is straight from the shelves of a cheap department store mixed with shit k2’s

    wouldnt pay for that

  13. Jhaine062 Says:

    i like those! sick

  14. zfm Says:

    dope shit

  15. oldman Says:

Hmm, like valo: roces + skin and new souls

    nimh: razors+skin and new souls

but hey valos are good skates!

  16. Lars Says:

I like the appearance of the Nimh skate. It looks better than that…..shall we say black/white CH1 posted here before. What I don’t like is soulplates. What if you don’t have wax? What if you can’t find a ledge to grind on? You can’t just go to the skatepark because of the woodpushers. What if you’re a noob with royales, farvs and backslides?

And I don’t get why people are complaining about the shell inside being a genesys. The genesys shell is awesome and at least Shima and Elliot are improving on it unlike Razors who are dishing out the same shit in different color schemes. I don’t want to start a debate on the internals of the Nimh boots until people get to try it but I’m sure that Shima modified the shell and didn’t pull it off like Valo.

  17. confusseled Says:

All the talk about skater owned and “choose your side”. not to mention the talk about “large corporations”.

so what I want to know is:

why does it have a Ground Control frame?

GC is a Powerslide product made in china. Powerslide is the largest company in rollerblading today!

kinda goes against ALL their marketing.

  18. Lars Says:

    *edit *
I’ve just seen the video on myspace.com/nimhskates and I retract my statement. The Nimh Shima is NOT a genesys with skin. The shell is different and doesn’t reach the toe area which means these things will probably run true to size. Thank God they’re not made in your typical Chinese sweat shop. And I’m interested in those frames he used along with the boots when he tested the
Nimh. Does anybody know what those are? They looked like freestyle frames.

  19. Raudel Says:

I’m sorry, but I don’t like it. This is not evolution, I love Shima and Elliot but this skate is an involution. The only function of the skin is the appearence and with this the skate is heavier than without this, and more things are very strange, for example the soulplates, hasn’t a good design. In conclusion, this is a skate for two of the best inliners in the world and could be better. I think.

  20. confusseled Says:

ps: did anyone notice the 50 pair of white cults on the rack to the right of the guy in the video?

  21. Heavy? Says:

    valo + 10000kg = nimh

  22. FellateMe Says:

Its a fucking miracle! Brian Shima is using freestyle frames! I don’t know if I’m supposed to throw a party or run right through a crowd of woodpushers with a shotgun.

  23. Raudel Says:

YEah!…one good thing, we buy 2 in 1, we can find a surprise inside, one more Razor!!!

  24. tibo Says:

    Ugly, useless with overskin..

Please tell me it’s gonna be different

  25. BALLIN! Says:

GC is not from powerslide dumb ass

  26. satan Says:

    hot hot sex

  27. Kyle Says:

Dude those skates are pretty hot. and how would it be hard to make a groove in a skatepark. do skateparks not come with rails or ledges anymore. Shima and Elliot actually have the balls to do something different and you guys are hating on the progression of rolling in a time we need all the inovation we can get so im all for it.

    Amen to that.

You noobs or parkrats or whatever you wanna be are just like the american gov’t: afraid of change, and judging something before you have actually seen it in action. Give the boot a chance, see it (in person) for yourselves before you start breaking it apart, and damning a new company while it’s still in the process of coming from the ground up. This is one of the reasons why the world is so phucked up today, because you lil’ chicks are scared. Stop being pusses, cut the negative crap out, CHECK YOUR EGOS, be positive about some new because if anything, it’s trying to HELP rolling.

  29. countryboi Says:

might as well just call the brian shimas pro valos skates lol

  30. christian slater Says:

yellow bling bling = horrible, not understandable from motleyshima

look like a mix of valo and razors = ugly nimh

ps: the name is ugly too!

they did it too fast…and so too ugly

  31. rollers are gay Says:

Dam these are really bad look like shit shima is wack no steez yes I’m a hater so fuck you all

  32. Tru Says:

right first thing is they say skate a ledge for three hours to wear a groove in your skate…if i have a groove after only three hours of skating i want my money back cuz they arent going to last me six months like usual 2 they dont look that nice skin’s were only good on detail’s every other attempt has been utter gash exept deshi and another thing if its a nimh shima….whys it got haffey featherlights

  33. Vinylhead Says:

The hate that you fucking idiots show to the people who are actually trying to do something is ridiculous. People said deshi’s,xsjado’s, and valos would never sell when they came out and look what happened. None of you have even ridin the skate, so as far as im concerned u don’t kno shit about how they perform. and Lastly CONFUSSLED u obviously must be confused cause GC isn’t owned by powerslide dumbass, its owned by rat-tail distribution which is owned by welch, elliot, and shima 100% skater owned and operated, no corpoerations just like shima said, so before you go calling out legend, kno wtf your talking about

  34. pokvin Says:

    sleek, but looks huge :S

  35. cock Says:

    usd’s are betterrrr

  36. ohio Says:

wow they look like valos, sigh

  37. nice Says:

This is so awesome really nice to see what they come up whit.
    :)

  38. banteng Says:

I usually hate, But these skates aren’t that bad lookin, They basically look like a shoe/skate and you have to see how they skate yourself be4 really dismissing them. I think they will sell dispite all this hating. Shima and Elliot deserve respect for trying something new, and they dont look like no fuckin Valo’s …

  39. banteng Says:

They look like RB’s if anything dickheads

  40. manufan4eva Says:

they look like anarchy skates, worst skates eva but not quite as ugly.

  41. kaschi Says:

nice to see a new company is startin .. but the skin looks really cheap and hard

  42. Sasha Inf Says:

Lol…. what if i don’t have ledges nearby, to make a nice groove… fucking loosers! Go buy a rasp! :DDDDD
Besides, the idea isn’t new, it was used on TRS broskow 2nd’s.

  43. .,.,.,., Says:

    nice

  44. Samurai Bush Says:

Actually, criticism for the soul plates and the groove is valid. If you can create your own groove in just 3 hours then that means that the plastic life of the soul plate is very short. And creating your own groove can be difficult due to several factors. You shima fanboys and internet hardass rollerblading posers should wisen up and spend less time on the PC and more time rollerblading. Morons.

Of course, I’ll reserve my words until I can try the Nimh Shima out. Till then, shut the fuck up and wait for a release date.

  45. macca - liverpool Says:

everyone shut up its a new skate judge them when thyre on your feet or at the vey least in your hands. i mean they could be worse the could have a long wooden design with four wheels and two “truck” liek components holding them on place :D

why hate? give them a chance

lol at that idiot who was fretting over not having a ledge to make a groove lol

  46. Neary Says:

Actually all these people moaning about how everyones “dissing” and “hateing” just seem like morons to me.
People are allowed to have an opinion, so get over it. Get off your pedastal. Also I personally buy skates with three things. Performance, durability and appearence. Seeing as I dought that the skates will last long if you make a groove in 3 hours and also creating your own groove could mean that it will be harder to get new tricks you might want to try and lead you to using your safety trick more often. I personally dislike the look but who knows they may be amazing for performance. I also like the idea of helping the scene out so I do hope that Shima and Elliot hit it off and then maybe release a skate that hits the spot.
    x’x’

  47. Roussel Says:

i dont understand how people say these are valos, they dont look anything like valos. the soul plates are COMPLETLY different from valos.

the buckle is different, the mold inside are not the same, you people are dumb, and who the hell is that dumb kid that said those are freestyle frames? and who the hell is that other dimb kid who said GC is powerslide

think before you post here! just cuz you’ve been rolling for the past 3 months doesnt make you a f-ing expert so dont post if you dont know what you are talking about.

  48. Roussel Says:

ps, the ROLLERBLADE skates came with no groove/make your own groove for the past 3 or 4 years, ask anyone who tried them and they said they loved the feature.

  49. Tru Says:

as samurai bush and i both said if you can make your own groove in 3 hours then they arent going to last more than 2 days

  50. domba Says:

    Fuckin joke !!!
( the logo pretty sucks too !!!!!!!!! )

When you learn how to spell THOUGH, HATING, and PEDESTAL, then I will get off my pedestal. Just like you said everyone has an opinion, good or bad. But I don’t think you understand the word moron very well (but atleast you can spell that). Just for stating that everyone is a moron, you are a moron that can’t spell while trying to get your point across. Get your SPELLING RIGHT before you can consider getting up on the PEDESTAL again… Thank you, and good night. XG

    shut up hoe
    u gotta shity attitude

  53. al dolega Says:

-the Nimh skate does NOT use the genesys shell. it uses an “open mold” bootshell- meaning the manufacturer designed it and it’s open to use by any of their customers. Nimh is modifying it and has designed their own proprietary parts for it (soul, skin, liner, etc).

-Nimh is 100% skater-owned, the first boot company in skating’s history to have NO outside involvement- no investors, no silent partners, no sporting-goods conglomerates, no random businessmen trying to make money off an “extreme” sport. now, finally, rollerbladers can make ALL of their purchases from other rollerbladers, with all of their money staying in the industry and in rollerbladers’ hands, if they wish.

-GC is jointly owned by Shima, Elliott, and Sunshine Distribution, who distributes Razors and Remz skates and Jug liners.

  54. Wolfman Says:

they look alright to me? whys everyone hating? elliot and shima are rollerblading gods, stop hating so much damn.

  56. so wack Says:

Jesus, most of these comments are so goddamn stupid, I lost brain cells just scrolling down to the comment box. Give the skate a chance, if it sucks, then you can bitch your pathetic little life away and go back to your Razors. Chances are that it will kick ass, so don’t be such a tool and wait till they drop, then we’ll see.

  57. Nate Says:

these skates just loook like a knowckoff of valos. they are pretty sick though but the souldplates look like they would be prettty shit but i wont judge em til i try them

powerslide is a “silent partner” of razors and remz. At one point they had a share of GC and they poured the plastic for all three before they contracted out all manufacturing to a company in china.

  59. John Stuart Mill Says:

the rollerblading industy needs more skate companies. i think these skates are a great idea. props to shima n elliot.

  60. Scott Wilcoxson Says:

I will buy them just to support a 100% roller owned company. I seriously doubt, no matter how they appear to some, that Shima or Elliot are going to put out shit. These guys love to Roll more than 99% of you fucking naysayers out there. Support Rollers who support Rolling or you fucking die!
    greenlantern
    rolling since 91′

  61. xesoteric Says:

    very very nice
i think they’d look hella sick with the deshi souls. the UHMW ones or valo souls.

i liked the whole “make your own groove” idea when i read about it but i didnt think that there wasn’t going to be any groove at all. it’s just a straight block. haha

now that seems like a crazy good idea.

  62. Duck Says:

    i want to buy one
    but I like white more

  63. contracandycondermanierman Says:

confusseled, you’re a fucking coon. GC is not even related to Powerslide. not even close.

But at least GC has been releasing some nice shit lately. like the featherlites and their soon to be released NEW frames….

  64. al dolega Says:

“powerslide is a “silent partner” of razors and remz. At one point they had a share of GC and they poured the plastic for all three before they contracted out all manufacturing to a company in china.”

not true at all. where are you getting this information from? Razors have always been made by the same manufacturer in China. Powerslide’s stuff has always been made in China as well, though with a different manufacturer.

  65. Deadman Says:

why is every one saying that these are a knock off of Valo? If thats true then Valo is a knockoff of the Rollerblade TRS. Just because it has the over boot shoe looking skin doesn’t mean shit. You idiots talk all this crap about them but then you are gonna go and buy them. stupid kids…..

  66. tek II Says:

wow they do look like valos rele crap looking skates tbh I take razors over them anyday

  67. Neary Says:

Wow, Xsjado girl, wronging my spelling. That obviously makes all points I created void!
No offence but your attitude is shit and your one of the people I was talking about in my rant.
Try not to be so argumentative.
And i’m sure your find some spelling mistakes in this article to criticise. Well done!
    x’x’

  68. Neary Says:

Just thought I would let you know that I haven’t actually write THOUGH into my original post. So I would appreciate it if you would learn to read before you start being a complete cunt.
And how does calling people morons make me a moron myself. That just seems completely illogical to me!
And once last point, you are just proving that your on a pedestal but at least I spelt it right this time!
    x’x’

  69. Monkeyshoes Says:

XSJADO GIRL it doesnt matter whether or not you’re hating on everyone because lets face all better at rollerblading than you because we’re men, no im not being sexist im just stating the truth/obvious. have fun never being any good ;) any criticisms about my spelling and grammar would be greatly appreciated. yes i am a MORON but im still better at rollerblading than you.

  80. monkeyshoes Says:

A NEW RADIOHEAD ALBUM I DIDNT EVEN KNOW FUCK THIS FORUM SHIT.

  81. retsyo Says:

First off I think the skate looks cool in the china video. Second, replacement skins are cool if they are kept affordable. Nobody wants to pay $65.00 for a Rollerblade skin, and I’ve never even seen a Valo skin for sale on a website. So if Nimh can keep the price down and make it affordable, I think the skin idea will work for them. Next, the soul plate. Create your own groove dosen’t mean you can’t grind, it just means it gets better with time. Remember the video, Shima was grinding straigt out of the box. Everyone who says the soul plate won’t last ’cause of the 3 hour break in time- don’t worry. That’s about what it should be. The edge of the groove is close to a 90 degree angle. So when you first grind it will wear away easily because all of your body weight and momentum is focused on that little area. But as you grind that 90 degree angle goes away and is replaced with a groove. And the groove spreads your weight and momentum over a larger area and the wear on the groove slows down. I was skating long before there was a UFS and I had many frames and backslide areas that weren’t grooved. They quickly showed wear, but after about 3 hours or so the wearing stopped. Just trust that Brian and Jon won’t sell you a soul plate that lasts 12 hours. Besides, that’s just bad for business.
