SD footage inside an HD video does not make it HD quality. Blu-ray isn’t HD. Blu-ray just uses a blu laser to store more footage onto a DVD.

HD footage rendered at 40mbps with 1080 lines of resolution does make it HD…
and anyone from outside the US that wants the video should just have their skateshop contact Shima and we will get it to you. If the shop isn’t interested in carrying it, the bigcartel site for Monk & Race will have it for sale shortly with international shipping available. Just gotta give all the shops first crack at making the sales to be fair.

This is what a skate video should be like. Bonus features, b-rolls, falls, bonus sections, extra montages, bang for your buck.
I loved the VG format with switch sections, park sections, rail sections and all that kind of stuff, it made the video a total experience.
It’s half the reson you buy a DVD besides the profiles, you wanna see what extra goodies you get.
Don’t want to bitch too hard but Game Theory needed these kind of extras.

Ahh what the hell, I just ordered the dvd, but would have preferred the blu-ray. I don’t see why Nimh didn’t release this from the start or why Razors didn’t either. 4Life looked sooooo good on blu-ray and actually made the tricks seem bigger and better than a regular dvd. Blu-ray’s the future people! AJ and everyone else putting out a big time flick better take note and hop on board! And some tech geek seemed to act like the blu-ray isn’t going to increase the quality, but maybe he or someone else can answer me this. If Game Theory was released as a blu-ray would we see a notable difference between that and the regular dvd on a dvd player that “upscales” the quality (with use of component or HDMI cables)? I’m pretty confident saying that if you put one of these standard dvd’s “shot with all HD cameras” in a standard dvd player that the quality will be significantly less (enough to tell a difference easily) than a TV set up with a player using HDMI or component cables.

This video rules (just saw it today). I love how Shima put the SKATING first, not the self-absorbed pros’ personalities, and not the “brand”. That was raw, rugged, stylized skating at its best, and I will be watching this long after 4LIFE has collected a family of dust bunnies on the shelf.
can’t wait for the Blu-Ray. I guess I need to buy a Blu-Ray player! so stoked to see someone who gets it! thx Shima, and you skated amazing btw, such unique spot selection!! and yes (to commenter above), Colin Kelso started the video off with a nice stylized section.

HD footage put onto a DVD, even with an upscaling player and whatever cables you have is nothing compared to Blu-ray. The video compression is 4-5 times “heavier” on a DVD usually.

that comment that said game theory LOOKS better than this is stupid.. if you haven’t seen both then shut the fuck up.. because both are NOT that great as whole videos.. obviously both have good skating but personally i thought game theory fucking sucked completely and will not watch that again.. but i would seriously watch Nimh again just for Montre’s ender (have not seen his second section) but worth the watch just for Montre’s ender…
