MYCK Wheels x Team Carat

up : Myck Wheels with Team Carat Labels
You surely know the Myck wheels (photo below), and what we got here is a funny (strange ?) story : The wheels you can see above are basically Myck wheels with a new label on it.
The Team Carat (Korea) who sell them just bought some Myck wheels, decided to put a design on them (the concept of the Myck wheels is to be sold ‘blank’, without any design) and sell them as their product.
Wheel Love who is producing Myck Wheels found the idea great ! What an original reaction to what we could called a rip. Read the story on their blog.

MYCK wheels are currently available in Thailand via Apichat, France via Koubis/Rollernews, Germany via Rak-Industries (http://www.rak-industries.com/shop.html).
We’re currently working with people in the US on bringing in MYCKs.

Why do American/European shops only sell American/European products? It seems to me that there are alot of Asian products for skating but we don’t include them in our market. I think shops should carry as many products as are available for us to have better selection.

Oh yeah, and ripping off another companies wheels is fucked up. I realize that “wheel love” does’nt seem to mind, but ripping off another companies ideas and selling them for your own is just bad. I dont see why letting people steal money from you is “refreshing”.Maybe I am just a moron but, I think it is “refreshing” when a company comes up with their own ideas. peace

We’re cool with it because it doesnt exactly affect us. What Team Carat did, though a little unnerving, still helps us achieve our goals of putting out affordable, good quality wheels. After all he paid for the wheels, he can very well do whatever he pleases with them.
Sides, when a company buys plain “Hanes” or “american athletic” branded t-shirts and stamps them with their own logo - nobody else seems to mind do they?
I think we were asking for it for selling blank coloured wheels at such a low price ;)

yeah finally someone chill and relaxed. I hope Mycks get bigger international and all because its a good way of looking at business. And maybe if everyone wasn’t so SUPER uptight about how the industry should be and kept rollerblading on a simple basis then it might help untangle all your thongs

fuck you DRT. I realize that we sound uptight, but thats just the way rollerblading has to be these days.In a market as small as ours we have to be careful what kind of business we do. “sukeats” did make a good point about them buying the wheels and having the right to do what they want. But, WE ARE UPTIGHT ABOUT THE INDUSTRY BECAUSE IT IS SO FRAGILE. And btw sorry about the f-you thing, I just didn’t like like your thong comment.Maybe cause I cant find any in my size ,lol.
