i think it is just sad that most of the people in here are just so hating,i mean the color isn t that much diffrent to the baily skate or some other pro skate ,in general there are a lot people out there skating red skates so wtf…..i think it s great see some new stuff from k2 at least they trie new stuff as just always chanching the skin color like razors,valo,usd….
why people always complain about creating new skates but never accept new stuff that is just stupid…..

The reason WHY people are complaining is cause K2 doesnt give a fuck about US. They JUST want our money. If anyone buys this crap they are seriously hurting our industry cause real dedicated skate brands will be losing those sales.. I’m all for new companies getting a shot at the industry profits BUT NOT a company like K2 that has a track record of simply dipping out when times get tough. They certainly do not deserve another chance cause they are not skater owned or even skater ran or designed. I mean, come on “Varsity Skate”??? Oh yeah, who do they support & pay?????? Thats right, no one, cause they do not care about OUR future just our $CASH$

they look decent enough though i would change the colors. it would be nice if k2 could get these into dicks sporting goods or sports authority. if mainstream sporting shops sell some real skates it can only help. k2 is a WAY bigger company than every other making skates right now and the potential capitol they could add to the sport is much needed. please dont hate on k2

also i agree it would hurt our industry if a dedicated skater bought these but if they pay a pro team, sponsor some competitions and get some product into mainstream shops where first time buyers can give skating a chance it will be good for the sport, even if they decide to leave again in 2 years

well billy, K2 never left the aggressive market. ever. they just produced the Fatty Pro and didnt have a huge marketing push in the last 4 years. but if you had looked at a K2 skate catalogue in that time you would always find the Fatty Pro.

The damn point is not about what the sk8 looks like OR performs like. Its about who is behind it. If you think it will help the overall industry if K2 gets big again and then leaves in 2 years, then you obviuosly JUST DONT GET IT.
IF we want to control our destiny then you can’t let these type of products survive. I’m all for them bringing something new and fresh but this skate is nothing they haven’t already put out. They just redressed it so people like you who have only been rolling for 10 years or less will think “oh these are new and good for us”
WRONG, At least Valo has Julio in charge. Its simple give your support to those who support you. Just cause K2 continued to make skates for all these years doesn’t mean they didnt bounce on us. Of course they weren’t gonna scrap their molds and new they could keep selling skates.
K2 can comeback and get respect when they start to re-sponsor events, pay a pro team, and actually put some FAITH into rolling.
I know some of you guys are young but don’t let this “new” sk8 Fool you. They only want your $CASH$. Why is it that while they were still selling skates they dropped their pro team?????? They certainly have more money than most skate brands. WHY? Cause they don;t give a fuck ABOUT YOU!
If you personally don’t give a shit about skatings future and are planning to quit in a few years anyways when skating doesnt suit your needs, then go ahead and buy these K2s. Hopefully you will both be gone in 2 years.

hey DL, want to know how RB sells us skates? they call from California and ask what we want to order. how does K2 do it? they send out a rep who show’s us the product, lets us try it on, talks to us about it. K2 has ALWAYS been there, they dont sponsor pro, but check into their european AM team, its huge.
everyone talks about wanting the sport to grow, well thats not gonna happen without money, and as much as i love skater owned companies, they generally have no money. dont knock the bigger companies, at least we dont have Nike jumping in like skate and snowboarding do. K2 has REAL interest in us.
The reason the skate is red is because that is the color the euro team picked, the sole is smaller because it makes for a better begginer skate. put a kid on a huge sole and he learns how to do sloppy tricks, put him on a small sole and he learns more refinement and style.
i guess some people just havent been around the scene long enough to really see things as they are.

AS i said in previous posting of these skates, they would look absolutely fine, and even ” good ” if the color scheme was changed, and the “sock” fabric look was replaced. I can bet they would look completely and utterly different without the 80′s tube socks : D def needs to be replaced with another pattern or fabric. Otherwise they might be bangin

young kid will go with his mom to a general sporting goods store to get some fitness inline skates and discover agressive skates from K2 and his mom will buy these for him. He will be introduced to the sport and a few years down the road he may be able to buy from skater owned companies… skates, wheels, clothes… etc.
K2 wins, skater owned companies win, the kid wins, our industry wins.
This kid would never have had the chance to discover any of the small roller owned brands at a mall or dicks sporting goods store.

I just hate the theme of the skate. If they could just sell the fine fatty model w/ improved soles in particular the Bslide plate and maybe all white or almost anything but a varsity jock theme, that would sell. But people will probably buy these b/c there are people for any product. Its a bit like when they produced the Nemesis b/c they were bad in the way they skated b/c they were heavy, fat and chunky but didnt look bad like these which probably skate well.

Haha seriously Matt have a good hard think about what you just wrote.
DL is spot on the money. They will take any money from our industry and line their pockets with it….or put it into snowboarding. They havnt paid a skater for about five years, havn’t sponsored any major events in short havn’t done shit for rollerblading for a very long time….why??? Because there was not forseable return on any investment. Of couse they are going to have a huge AM team (of which i have never heard of) because they dont have to pay them anything except for the cost price of a few pairs of skates. K2 are one of the scum companies which has raped rollerblading and left it with its pants down. And dont start saying you dont know what your talking about, you havnt been skating long enough crap, i used to skate for them.. i know all to well how much they dont give a fuck about us.
Support the real companies in rollerblading, they one who will help our industry grow. Some of you may disagree but i believe one of the best things to happen to rolling has been the slump we have had over the past 5-6 year. It got rid of all these shit companies and left the ones who really give a crap. Dont let them come back when there is now a glimmer of hope on the horizon.
Anyway, no need to worry…there isn’t enough blind rollerbladers to keep that hiedious skate on the market.
