August 30th, 2009 at 8:33 pm
amazing. words cannot describe what i just witnessed.
August 30th, 2009 at 8:59 pm
I am vomiting at the fact people thing the little kid with carbons skated better than Broskow. A full cab true makio on a box is harder than ANY trick Cudot did.
August 30th, 2009 at 9:24 pm
John: I can only speak for myself. If I was given a five-six tries on a full cab makio there’s about 30% chance I would have made it, and 95% if it was a full cab mizou. BUT I would never manage a transfer 540 ao top porn like Cudot did.
August 30th, 2009 at 10:02 pm
Cudot skated very well for sure, but as far as that footage shows Alex was miles ahead of anyone there.
Cudot spun only one way the entire time, and often landed tricks with his body well out of position, even if his feet held on. Alex was spinning both ways, in lines, switch and natural, and doing tricks that (granted involved less hucking) were sky high in terms of difficulty and individuality, grabs and spins out included, and making it look easy. He skated the whole course and did tricks that haven’t become the go-to contest set over the last few years.
It looks like technique got overlooked by wow factor in this one, which is too bad because Alex’s performance was one of the best I’ve ever seen in a contest (again, based on this footage.)
August 30th, 2009 at 10:47 pm
Eric, t’es aigri.
ca se sent.
Cudot was better than everybody down there, for this time.
thas it thats all.
August 30th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
haha bitter huh?
August 30th, 2009 at 11:14 pm
that’s what he called me, not what I’m saying about his comment. although…
August 30th, 2009 at 11:17 pm
also, I don’t speak french so I could be wrong about that.
THREE POSTS IN A ROW YA’LL
August 30th, 2009 at 11:45 pm
that trick on 5.47 from the thirt edit was fucking sick!!
im not the best with names who is he again?
August 30th, 2009 at 11:53 pm
Bla bla bla. It would’ve been ridiculous if Alex had won over Cudot.
Slayer: It was the French USD-rider “Anne”.
August 31st, 2009 at 12:01 am
Broskow should have won. it only makes sense, I don’t need to explain. He just did everything right and if you couldn’t notice that he was the best in the contest; then you have issues or do not understand concepts of rollerblading
August 31st, 2009 at 12:37 am
From this footage, it looked like Alex’s performance was best. Not saying that the others weren’t good, Alex just had the wow factor in these videos. I wouldn’t be surprised if he got short changed, it happens. Being Montreal, maybe they wanted a French person to win, contest judging in events like these are always subjective.
August 31st, 2009 at 12:39 am
true that broskow should have won everythin was perfect like eric said above switch natural tricks spins with perfect textbook steeze. and some little kid hucking himself everywhere with no style at all won. no doubt he good a shit ton better than me but broskow truly should have won.
August 31st, 2009 at 12:50 am
Amazing comp, amazing skating, amazing coverage. Great job AJ for another amazing edit. Shop-Task is very proud.
August 31st, 2009 at 1:21 am
I was there and Cudot was unreachable.
The footage doesn’t show how much times Broskow and Haffey fell while Julien Cudot fell twice or maybe 3 times in his 2 rounds. He was so constant and was skating everything and his 540 ao top porn was just incredible.
Cudot deserved the win over everyone.
August 31st, 2009 at 1:22 am
hahaha ya boy is feelin it, killed everything he touched
August 31st, 2009 at 1:23 am
I agree with max, i was there as well, and CUDOT was simply unstoppable.
August 31st, 2009 at 1:56 am
anybody there knows cudo won the contest, yeah broskow did switch tricks, and has great style. but cudo did 3 times more ticks than anyone else, and all hammers.
cudo
flat spin 720 off the wall
not in the edit flat spin 5 the other way
540 tts on the rail
540 true mizu the box
360 soul the garage door
540 ao top porn the garage door
360 soul the coping to drop
not in the edit, 540 true porn the rail
royale up 360 royale on the step up rail
not in the edit 360 royale straight to the step up rail
not in the edit cork 900 on the launch box
broskow
full true makio the box
switch true mizu the box
switch backslide the rail
360 the big gap
makio to fish the coping drop
bbs to tts the coping drop 3out
style
broskows words after the contest, i knew i wasnt going to win…
August 31st, 2009 at 2:27 am
Broskow definitely won. While you listed a bunch of single clips you failed to mention park flow and lines completely. Broskow was throwing in ridiculous tricks just on a whim. If this were a proper contest with heats Broskow won easily. Cudot won best trick that is all.
August 31st, 2009 at 2:38 am
no cudo won the contest that is all, if haffey had won with is single tricks, all would agree with it, its just cause this is a 16 year old kid from france that just beat your idol, get over it.
August 31st, 2009 at 2:50 am
Actually I would say horse shit if Haffey won this too. While he skated incredibly, nobody had as complete a performance as Broskow. That is what contests should be basing the standings on (completeness-spins, cleanliness, technicality, lines), not just spinning counter-clockwise into tricks. If you disregard all tricks done with a clockwise spin I believe Cudot should have won. Otherwise fuck off you faux Frenchman.
August 31st, 2009 at 2:51 am
Ok, first of all, my english isn’t very good…
Alex is the example of years and years of experience with rollerblading..droppin proflies the one after the other…
Same thing for Haffey, these guy don’t have to prove them selves to show how good they are. Cudot is a young kid, how has alot of talent,..his tricks where sick as hell, and he will get perfection in his tricks in the coming years..so people who say that he landed with his body in a strange position are not looking at the difference in age and experience in rollerblading..I mean look at the pro’s like haffey, alex, brandon,,,I mean come on, these guys are the roots of rollerblading when it comes to next level shit…I enoyed all 4 edits..Looked like a realy nice contest..
And too bad for Haffey he didn’t landed the Frontside backlside to allyoop soul 720 out, but i can tell all you people, he can do it even with a 1080 if i would like…It just didn’t work out this time..But believe me, all you people are judging on these guys on edits and stuff..Imagine that these guys just skate on session with locals guys on regluar days, and you even don’t want to know what kind of tricks they do, tricks that don’t even are filmed..The tricks that are in great videos are sick ass hell, but not even the half of these hard tricks are captured on camera, they just do it for the love! And that’s what rollerblading is about in my opinion…I hop eyou people understand what i ment to say with this comment (even if my english is very very bad, im from amsterdam holland)…
1 LOVE, lets bring rollerblading to the world and the people so they can have a taste of the good vibe of rollerblading
Peace
August 31st, 2009 at 2:58 am

cudot is the best get used to it
August 31st, 2009 at 5:54 am
stop riding broskow’s dick. He’s hella good and has such good style I’ll admit it but he lost to the best skater that day and that’s it.
Also, to the idiot that said that the judges from Montreal wanted a french guy to win over an american…. Broskow won the 2007 classic.
August 31st, 2009 at 7:16 am
nice eits guys. its amzing how good the skating was, yet so much hate from rollerbladers. everyone has an opinion, but lets get past that. truly, those that were there will have the best comments or arguments on the results. after watching that, i didnt even really care all that much about the results. i enjoyed the great talents that were displayed. speed, technical, and flow. you can really see why they are all pros. i honestly would have hated to be a judge for this one. i can say just from my own personal experience… when someone is at the top, there are many more reaching for that top. its hard to except new younger guys coming in but that is just how it is. i think cudot has amazing talent. one of our future, yet everyone talking crap. fair judging or not, i thought the skating was great. i wish i would have started this sport when i was even half of my age, seeing amazing skating is inspiring.
August 31st, 2009 at 7:24 am
To be honest, I think Broskow skating has grown a little too technical. A lot of the tricks and his style now are for insiders only. As in, if you haven’t been rollerblading for three years, you probably won’t understand the difficulty or appreciate the control he has.
If you look at his winning performance during the 2007 contest, it’s really different. It’s a lot more passionate, like he can barely control himself. His skating now is almost clinical. I think it’s a step forward in one sense and a step backwards in another.
On another note, illusions spins are going to be the death of this industry. Call me an ignorant old man, but I still can’t pick them out in a video. And you can bet that if I can’t enjoy watching them, no one else potentially interested in the sport will be inspired by them either.
August 31st, 2009 at 7:31 am
i would have killed to have been there, anyone there to witness this skateing in person was lucky…. Cudot was amazeing, Broskow was amazeing i love rollerbladeing & i dont really care who wins, to much drama to argue who won, looks like everyone thew down & ripped that park…. hats off to everyone who skated that contest! :-)
August 31st, 2009 at 8:50 am
Next years WRS judges are found here as i see…
TV judges
judging only over a bit they see.
And while they see the edits they forget to love the sport…
who fucking cares if someone gets 1st or 2nd?
I just hope all the riders had a nice day and enjoyed their riding!
August 31st, 2009 at 10:01 am
you guys should just agree on a place to meet, fly there, and then fist fight till death.
August 31st, 2009 at 10:45 am
OK Actually, Charlie should have won.
Charlie je t’aime.
August 31st, 2009 at 11:41 am
Justin Bailey just said it !

I was there and if I have to remember three things about this contest, it could be :
1- Charlie’s run: great style, great man, great show! Amazing lines for an am! Go Charlie go!
2 – Rob G and his hilarious tricks for the show. This man is just a legend. For the love of skating Rob!!!
3 – And off course, Cudot’s final run. Even though I do not like spinning run, I have to say that Cudot was unbelievable. If you were there, you know what I’m talking about. This guy plays in another league, he just killed the park forever and he really deserved the first place. By the way, Mathias did a super qualif run and his style is so smooth…
Finally, thanks to every skater am and pro for the show! And the organizers that made this contest possible… Montreal is back!!! I only regret that the NIMH team was not there because of the motherfucker custom boarder officer…
August 31st, 2009 at 2:41 pm
so what if i didt win your still gonna buy my new skates
August 31st, 2009 at 3:28 pm
BROSKOW should have WON!!!!!
People still can’t understand how Broskow really good is. It will take time, lots of time that people actually realise this. Broskow is 20 years ahead of this time.
August 31st, 2009 at 4:33 pm
congrats coudoux!! well deserved you know hes good when hes tailing aragon in the world rolling series, broskow just has a mature perfect style that honestly is ahead of 2009
August 31st, 2009 at 4:48 pm
Julien Cudot is not as good as Broskow nor Haffey.
Damn, the 540 true pornstar from Haffey was the best trick i’ve ever seen!
August 31st, 2009 at 4:49 pm
where the hell was Matthieu Ledoux????
August 31st, 2009 at 6:36 pm
In your ass !!!!
August 31st, 2009 at 6:45 pm
So how much does style count?
By style I mean: solidarity of landings, control in the air, footwork control, length of held grabs, clear top-sides within 45 degrees or so of a ledge / coping, fluidity and creativity using the apparatus, connecting tricks like landing fakie and staying fakie into the next trick, overall artistic impression, maybe even choice of clothing.
I think it should count for a lot of any performance, especially in competition, maybe even 50%. The reason is that rollerblading is a spectator sport where everything is judged by observation. But I guess rollerblade judging won’t get to the nitpicking and point deductions that are conducted in other sports.
August 31st, 2009 at 7:08 pm
Phenomenal skating by Browscow and Cudot. If judging on style alone Browscow won, if on amptitude alone Cudot won. Cool edit.
August 31st, 2009 at 7:10 pm
Broskow not Browscow. lol;)
August 31st, 2009 at 8:40 pm
*solidity, not solidarity
August 31st, 2009 at 9:35 pm

September 2nd, 2009 at 10:01 pm
“cudot is the best” “young vs old, young wins”….
haha, have judges forgotten about maturity, lines and style?
broskow has probably already done all the wee man’s tricks years ago.
spin to win was soo last year… gosh.
