Mike Murda Johnson: Latinroller Interview
Richie: Mike, I still have the Daily Bread that gave you and the NY City boys a spot in the most popular rolling mag at the time. I gotta say, the afro and the fish on that high ass ledge has always stuck in my head mainly because I had never seen such a stylish fish on such a tough obstacle.
I also remember there was this thing on who had better skaters, east or west coast. Can you give us a brief description of what it was like for you back then, coming from a city which had already produced some of the biggest names in rollerblading?
MJ: It was sick coming up in NYC, besides the skaters that came before us i had the illest skaters to skate with from my time. Fish, Dustin, Boschi, Franco, etc. Growing up with them was like having brothers who skated with you, it was the shit.
The best thing about growing up in NYC and being a skater is that we didnt sugar coat anything. If you had wack style we made fun of you for it till you got better, if you did a trick half ass we made fun of you. I think thats was a good upbringing.

I love skating ledges too. just the thought of the feeling of sliding on wax and concrete gets me pumped to skate. I think that’s why I’ve always loved Murda’s style – thanks for posting this interview.
