wow, that’s awesome! really nice snippet of our culture. funny how while all the boys are running, meditating and doing strenuous physical activities the girls are like, just sitting, on a bench. haha
i also liked in the begining there was a parallel between the skaters and the tai chi(?) dude, like in a way they’re similar for the soul.

How do I sound nice. I’m very happy at the fact that we are in that video, even if it is by a spice girl. Any exposure is great exposure. However, Her song sucks. I had to pause it just to make sure I didn’t fall asleep. The filming is different and brings a added depth to the video but overall it was dope.

Tai chi for the soul? Get the fuck outta here. I for one, am happy with the state of rolling. We don’t need any more comps,, nor do we need any more companies, and we damn sure don’t need exposure. I like the fact that damn near no one skates, or how people mistake rolling for skateboard. The last thing I want is random people coming up to me and talking to me acting like they know rolling when they really know jackshit.

yeh it would have been better if there wasnt a skateboarder there, im not being a dickhead but people will just think rollerblading is skatebording and when your gran goes “do you still skateboard?” well thats gonna happen alot more. shese scrubbed up nicely though since the spice girls

I wonder how old is this music video? That dude is rocking the first aaron feinberg’s usd thrones. I remember when those came in at Bladin Action in Philly. I thought it was like the second coming of jesus. Skates are still fresh!

You could simply think that these sports images were put in to add urban credibility. But it’s not just the ‘extreme’ sports that are featured here. There’s jogging, there’s tai-chi…
If you listen to the lyrics, she’s talking about how she feels people don’t really know what they’re looking for, and then you see the images, and she explains how certain things get people through.
It’s just a reflection of how she sees life right now and the things that go on around her. Whether that’s by her choosing, or by her record company, of course you could talk about that..
Whether it’s a good song or not is of course up to the individual. But personally I found the images of various activities going on worked well with the musical message and so I think it’s ok.
People go on about representing rollerblading.. but far more poignant I think, is to play with the ideas of why we do it, why people do certain things. That’s more interesting to me, so this video is okay in my book.
