I am sorry Matthew Luda but this does not really make blading look solid and cool to an outsider ie a skateboader as I feel Broskow intends when he skates like this. Illusions, kicking homoish grabs, zebra skates… doesn’t look like your pulling it off at all.

If any of you had actually known these spots you would know that the ledge that he does the fish and ao ts on is actually difficult to skate and he did topside tricks on it. Also, what is wrong with simple stylish rollerblading? And you say that he is trying to copy Broskow? That’s a compliment. It means he’s got style. More bladers should emulate Broskow as it would improve their style considerably.

Luda skates like Luda. If you want to compare him to Broskow, I think that’s a nice compliment but both of their styles are influenced by their history in hockey. If you look back at his style over the years, it’s been pretty much the same. I’m talking about times before anybody knew who Broskow was. In the last 2 years or so, I think he’s taken special attention to clean his style up even more. Since both Luda and Broskow both have clean style influenced by hockey, people draw comparisons. I think he likes to skate because he likes how it feels when he’s rolling around. I don’t think he’s really into skating for the adrenaline rush or breaking psychological boundaries. The sport needs both. I think Luda makes our sport look good. But really, it doesn’t matter what I think or what any one else thinks. We all skate for ourselves really. Or at least, we should.

The people talking trash will always compare themselves with other skaters because of competitive aspect of our sport. Artisticly, the edit is completely on point. Julio enjoyed the BJ so much he wanted to keep Matt around (he knew Matt would be headed home to Chicago soon). In a panic Julio put Luda on the AM team, this of course made Luda jizz his pants. I feel bad for the people who make such negative comments about an individual’s skating because you will never truly understand rollerblading. Matt Luda is a great guy on top of being a great skater. That’s why companies like Valo and Create Originals support his skating. He is a good representation of our sport and is skating the way he feels most comfortable, and it shows. The reason you competitive chuckers don’t get hooked up probably has a lot to do with your attitude. You may be able to do these tricks but that doesn’t matter if you’re a dick because nobody will want to support you.

I think i hate reading the comments on this website now. I cant believe that people are insinuating that matt luda gave a bj to get sponsored. As much as you guys might think you sound hard….you are just jealous and it is so obvious. If all of you are so good and have better styles that blow matt luda out of the water. Then go post edits of yourself send them to JJ or the conference or go out to comps and place well and maybe you will get sponsored too..or maybe give JJ a rim job and you can make it to the pro team. I agree w/ colin martin. agree that Hockey influences your style in a very good way b/c you learn how to really skate through specific drills on turning, skating backwards while turning usually on the face off circles and then changing to the next circle etc. it really helps your skating you learn the fundamntals, also how to properly stop start where you speed up from standing, and changing direction quickly, all that, I cant remember the proper terminology for the drills. You learn how to skate

For the longest time I thought Luda’s skating was going down hill because of the drastic change it had taken and to be honest I talked my fair share of shit on him but then i realized it was because i was jealous. Our sport does need crazy hammers, but it also needs people like Luda to show how beautiful and fluid our sport can look. I will tell you what our sport does NOT need is haters. There is enough of them outside the sport. There are so many aspects to this sport and in the end it comes down to this we are all rollerbladers. We all do and love the same thing. I liked the a/o roll and zero spin Makio 3, it looked like chill skating and good skating. people got diferent styles, people can skate how they want even if your sponsored and it’s a promo edit you shouldnt have to drop hammers at all, not all skating is about hammers or skating hard it is what it is to the person, just skate how you skate and a good tip from a Rachard Johnson DB interview is to “skate for yourself” and not give a fuck about what others think

Luda is probably one of the nicest dudes i’ve ever met, i’m sure Jon and B Smith feel the same, and like people have already said, that has to do some with him getting support. Personality and style mean just as much as skating. His skating is still really good and I have been stoked on it since the day I met him. This is an edit he made in a day, testing out a pair of frames… People on here make me understand why people hate us. Regardless, Luda rips, and this edit was sick.
