there was nothing wrong with oli shorts run! thats how he skates. creative and original. he might not go as big as haffey etc…but he certainly got more tricks in one run. and landed them all!

Kinda disappointed in the park runs. I mean, the only one that stood out IMO was stephane alfano’s run. I could have won that comp if that’s how people were going to be skating. IMO I think the only place grinds could truly be appreciated is at a real street contest, not some park like the asa. In the asa, the rules are simple: throw the most crowd pleaser tricks and win…you die a little on the inside but you still win. With that said, I’d probably win because I’d throw zero grinds. Nothing but flips and spins. Anyways, my run would be misty flip off the flybox, stall the rail on top of the QP, backflip off, then skate back up the hill for a 540 bio on the flybox to fakie front flip the QP, come back up the ramp then do hotflip/lincoln loop the flybox, invert on the rail, go back and do a 720 over the box, and then with the 10 seconds or so left in my run, do a handstand on the coping. Just by skating that box and the quarter pipe, I’d probably win that shit. Because no one gives a crap about technicallity. No one cares about creativity. It’s all about flips and spins. That’s why woodpushing and bmx and fmx are big. If you can’t kickflip your board or flair your bike or backflip your motorcycle, you better go home.
