Leon Basin (Shop Task): Freeskating Edit by Danny Beer

Leon Basin (Shop Task)

I’ve been blading together with Leon Basin for quite some time, and he always has something fresh to offer.

Whether it’s a new idea, or bringing back the basics, Basin never fails to impress me. Here is a little something we’ve been working on, hope you like it.

There is some instability in freestyle skating style that I don’t like. I don’t know if it’s caused by the wheel size or the speed. Probably more the speed. I personally use a Slimline frame flat rockered which allow me to have 60 mm wheels on both ends. I think you can go a bit higher 62, 65 mm maybe but bigger you loose control.

Well, i started aggresive in-line skating when it – really – was AGRESSIVE IN-LINE SKATING, so this so-called freeskating is… strange for me. I’m not sayin’ that freeskating is a bad or shit something, but it’s not my world, that’s sure.

  7. bagozzi Says:

now thats how you use a powerblade setup! my favorite trick was the top acid to kinda stick on the wheels and 5 out. leon does not lack in vision or creativity. and beer makes it all look so nice. well done.

this is some bullshit! this is what skating looked like 15 years ago and the reason we are called fruit booters. gayyyyyy knock it off

  23. Anonymous Says:

    Rollerblading a gay period.

This was really really enjoyable to watch. Thanks Canada dudes. Fuckin love Leon. And Erik burrow

  24. Anonymous Says:

I’m actually interested in the idea of a frame that supports bigger size wheels but it would need some sort of area to allow grinds and the wheels would need to be flat…

it would prob make them very heavy but then you can go fast and big.

I think 65mm is the perfect size wheel if this ever happened.

  25. Anonymous Says:

    Good blading song please?
