Kelso, riding a pool in a demolished hotel
We ventured off into the depths of dirty Memphis to find an abandoned almost completely demolished hotel. Inside we found this dirty old indoor (now outdoor) pool.
We cleaned out the fiberglass sheets and old wood and cleared the leaves and started to session it. Within the first couple tries to flow over the hole in the center of the wall I had already landed straight on the side of my face which felt pretty bad..and my jaw still hurts right now. But it was an interesting day of skating and the photos are here for your viewing pleasure.

What a pussy…Skatebrands sometimes seem to have no idea, what talents all over the world are truly worth a sponsorship. This should be called sponsorshit..Sorry for that, but i can’t help it.

It’s all about the style and kelso got style. Maybe he’s not the most technical skater, but i like watching his photos. If you think you’re ‘better’ share your photos and clips and let’s rediscuss about it.

To anyone that has questions regaurding anything really:
I didnt ask to be flow or be sponsored or anything from anybody.
I’ve been skating for almost 8 years now and I’m 22. I was asked “Hey would you like to try some free skates and see how they work for you?”
I said yes dutifully. I really am not a technical skater. Thats okay with me. Its just skating. Its just fun. I can actually do 360 topsouls, I can also eat peanut butter samiches..one thing I cannot do is blow bubbles with my gum..that one is beyond me.
I got a little off track. I just skate. I break skates like once a month. So If someone giving me free stuff for me to have fun is somehow making you angry or sad or even a little angry…I really don’t care.
Just rollerblade. Watch the two second clips of whatever you want or watch whole videos of amazing professionals doing what they do.
Just realize its all love. Its all just skating.
Maybe you can agree with me there.

Jon Kelso might just be the gayest person in the world, and yes he is a walking joke( in a good way ); but shit can that kid skate and shit is he a good dood. Right now he has so big of a cut on his arm you would think he got into a fight with me, hahah… but its actually from stopping himself from falling off a kink ledge so that he wouldnt fall 15 feet to his face. Kelso is more gangster than any of you will ever be. But thank all of you for giving Kelso such a hard time in my stead. No ill take over.

No need to apologize friend. I get angry too sometimes when I see kids getting sponsored left and ride when they are so many kids….so many kids that have so much more talent just waiting undiscovered.
The good thing about kids like that is that they will keep skating FOREVER without one single thing handed to them by any company. Thats the way I am too. If Richie hadnt come up to me and asked me if I would like to try some skates I would still be skating my broke fucking xjados with duct tape holding them together, a fucked up sole plate that was almost non exsistant, two broken buckles that wouldnt velcro closed, and a missing heel pad.
Point being. Thanks for recognizing that its all just skating for the love.

I did underestimate your true character…just a prejudice. You see, I’ve been skating for nine years now. I live in a much more different place, the very heart of Europe, but the love for skating hasn’t changed a bit since i put my skates on for the first time. I still love the sport no matter what it takes.
As a 15 year old kid, back in 97, i spent so much time dreaming about being sponsored and idolizing all these people like Arlo, TJ or Tom Fry. As the time passed, and my abilities grew, I realized there is nothing more beautiful about the sport, than the good times spent with my true friends and discovering new things about myself.
Just to explain all this, we skate because we want all the troubles in our lives to disappear. Even if for a short while…
I don’t want to seem too emotional, but in fact this is really the reason for us to stay in the game for all these years..
PS: You mentioned XSJADOS, do they last? I just bought a pair, just to pay tribute to DL. :)

I started out skating early on in Bitburg Germany. I understand everything your saying and agree totally.
All rollerbladers should be able to understand what you are saying.
As fas as xjados go…They lasted me about 6 months. I go through skates really quickly. So I dont know. They ride nice. Good luck with them.

Pezinok, Slovakia is the place.
It’s very close to Austria though, so i spent some time skating in Vienna too. Hm, just like Arlo said in Black Market : “Too many people love it in too many places”. I see this everywhere i go. That’s the essence of our sport - the love for it..
XSJADOs are amazing, i tried them today. Whole new experience.

Met kelso, hang out with kelso, skate with kelso and he will amaze you with his talents and personality. The reason that he is on flow is because he isn’t the typical pro, he is unique and has a great following where ever he is. He is friendly and will not hesitate to take his time to introduce himself to everyone who is willing to sess with him.. Thats why he is flow..
