Genre did not drop Julian. I talked to Adam Killgore after M1 gave their presentation and he said that it was Julian that made the decision to go to M1. I thought, and still think, that it was (and is) messed up of Julian to leave Genre like that. Yes, M1 may have that “hip-hop” theme going, but Genre did have a fairly influential role in Julian’s rising career. Therefore, seeing him leave Genre like that, for me, is like turning your back on them. Yeah, it is drama, but what industry doesn’t have it? I guess I should not be surprised about the whole situation, as this, more than any I guess, is a cut throat business. Money, unfortunatley, is a big issue and is scarce, so that might have to do with the jump from Genre to M1. But I am just speculating, as I do not know the actual facts of what happened and what was going on at that time.
