Jim Jones Announces Dipskate Skate Team

Jim Jones is currently riding high with “We Fly,” but the Dipset executive is planning to enlist others to do the real aerodynamics for him.
Jones revealed to AllHipHop.com that he has started Dipskate, a Diplomat Records sponsored skate team.
The team is a union between the Harlem-based label and Courtney and Chris Brown of lifestyle-brand B. Unique.
B. Unique, coined the term “freestyle rolling,” which refers to the combination of aggressive skating, urban fashion and music.
The company approached Jones while filming a documentary titled Know Difference and the budding Dipset mogul said he was impressed at the lifestyle.
“When I got the opportunity to see their tape and they told me how the skaters and skateboarders feel when it comes to the Diplomats I was honored. They feel like we’re the realest thing out there and they love everything that we’re doing, so it was a beautiful opportunity,” Jones told AllHipHop.com in a statement.
Joseph Miles, Dipskate’s team manager, revealed that there are similarities with the fast rise of Hip-Hop and the rapid ascension of skating.
“Where I come from, growing up, extreme sports were always looked at as a form of escape,” Miles said. “I remember a quote from the intro to the first skateboarding video I ever watched, ‘they try so hard…they want to learn so much and ultimately they’re going to achieve their goals twice as fast as anyone else.’”
Ramelle Knight and Calvin Sayles are the two chief skaters in Dipskate.
B. Unique already sponsors over 10 professional in-line skaters in New York, Philly, Atlanta and parts of California.
Jones said an official launch event is scheduled for the spring of 2007.
Jim Jones’ “We Fly High” has garnered the Warner Music executive/Diplomats CEO the biggest hit of his recording career.
His album, Hustler’s POME hits stores on Nov. 7.

p2roll4life i listen to rock music i dont wear tight ass pants and i love to skate you are wrong about all of that there is more than one type of rock music just like there is more than one type of rap music. so you need to chill the fuck out. yea this is good exposure but people have their opinion.
October 25th, 2006 at 1:13 am
white or black tight or baggy so fucking what! skateing is skateing! I deal with skaters like sweet cheeks, if you are a real skater, all the time but the funny thing is skaters like him never say the shit they feel to your face! But I don’t give a fuck who helps supports our sport it can be Taco Bell or Mc Donalds but as long as they are willing to help our industry then I say welcome.
But remember who rejected our sport? the X-games and other companies so Sweet Cheeks go talk to your people for us so we can get coverage again! lol.
October 25th, 2006 at 2:50 am
uncalled for p2roll4life! did you think that i’d hate on dipset cause i wear tight pants and listen to music from the 70s? you’re WRONG! way to start hate cause you think others might disagree with you.
October 25th, 2006 at 3:47 am

this is huge for rollin, way bigger than aanything else anyone is doing. This will accually get our sport out to the public. plus i was startin to feel like one of the only white boys left wearin baggy jeans in rollin.

props to dipset for doin this for rollin. Sweet cheeks i would like to see you call up dipset and b unique and say all that ish to their face. your such a big headed hater that you can’t even see what this will do for our sport. We got one of the most popular rappers in newyork reppin our sport so you goin have to haqte harder than that to stop them. for now I’m bout to cop me a dipset shirt so i can rock it when i’m skatin.
October 25th, 2006 at 9:31 pm
whaat. love dipset (jim jones, cam’ron, juelz santanna, 40 cal, jha jha, etc. for those who are close minded and ignorant). love skating, love b. unique. just one more step in the rapid explosion of skating. think its awesome and i’d be the first to ride for dipskate. and who says this is promoting crime, other than the fact that half the places we ALL skate are illegal for us to even be at. this is in no way involved in crime. just one more way to connect skating+music. tight.
October 25th, 2006 at 10:21 pm
Hey to everyone, don’t even listen to haters! I am not that much into Hip Hop but what they are doing with B-unique and now Dipskate is just amazing. I love to see guys like them giving money to our industry. The do something for us so give them the madest respect we can!
We have to stop this super dumb discussion about Hip Hop or Rock or whatever, we are rollers that is all what matters not the clothes!!! Look at Broskow he was amazing in baggys and he is amazing in tight pants too what’s the point???
October 26th, 2006 at 11:01 pm

October 31st, 2006 at 6:49 pm
Look I might be one of those tight pants artsy skaters but you have to look at it this way now matter wat kind of music, background, or lifstyle you choose to portray this thing with dipset is big for rolling. You need to understand yeah alot of people want to keep rolling underground but at the sametime this opens new doors for younger skaters to be on a team and improve. B-Unique stands for exactly what there name is they are unique from everyone else tell me who else would have decided to bring rap/hip-hop, the actual music, to a sport where rap/hip-hop, the life style, is ever so present. I have incredable respect for Dipset in doing somthing diffrent for hip-hop and the sport and lifestyle of inline. So anyone out there who has a problem with Dipset and B-Unique should take there cheep and wallmart skates and throw them in the trash and pick-up a tennis racket and go to a sport where you might be respected as a fag. Look i listen to rock, metal, hardcore, and indie as well as some hip-hop/rap so in my mer opinion i believe thats this is awesome. My respect goes out to Dipset, Dipskate, B-Unique, and the everyone else who supports this colabaration between what has always been, Hip-Hop and Rolling.

Respect to TK doing real big thang- Now the captain of ICE CREAM. my nigga. swift. use to be a regular kid skatin in the HOOD. But the messege im trying to get at is.
