I forgot how horrible corporate events are. That “play by play” announcing explaining the importance of putting together lines in rollerblading. Some good skating from the guys and the ladies, but that announcing just gives me the shivers.

okay how would you guys rank these three chicks. Jenna, Kaya and Chynna????? For me, its tough to say. I think Kaya’s D-Structure video is amazing, while Chynna killed it at woodwards, and Jenna has some nice tricks too. I think Kaya would go first, chynna second and jenna third.

i didnt think the run was amazing, the first half was really good and consistent but lost flow after that..although still maintained a good standard of tricks…
but too keep an energetic high standard consistent run is hard yakka!
the second edit was pretty damn sweet…

The LG format is the same as the outdated ASA format. Do you know why? ASA runs the LG “action sports” contests. This format has been useless since 2000, around the same time the ASA lost all their major sponsors. The overbearing parents come in and it makes it a “stay on your feet” contest, which means even if you land the most redic trick and later stumble on a sole grind you get fifth.
The homo announcing was Mark Sahays, one the owners of the ASA.

I knew that announcing was familiar. He used to do the ASA events for ESPN back in the day, right? I agree with you on the “stay on your feet” aspect of the competitions. Rollerblading has evolved.

why aren’t women held to the same standards of skating as men? if a guy went out and had her run at LG, he definitely wouldn’t have gotten first.

Props Jenna!!! I was there & she skated really well! It was only Jenna, Fallon, Fab & Chynna in the womens’ finals but they all skated hard. Fallon was doing stalls on a hitching post that was taller than she is straight from 360ing the launch box, and if there were more ledges built into the course you probably would’ve seen Chynna have a super tech run. They found good lines in what looked like a really unflowable course.
As for the “play by play” commentating, Arlo was pretty much educating the Seattle crowd at the event. The majority of the population up here isn’t exposed to rollerblading like this lol. They would applaud and cheer for backflips but gave technical grinds & switchups the golf clap.
