i wuldnt mind having a go with those frames
October 8th, 2007 at 8:04 pm
looks like rollerblade could be on the way back on top
great frame idea, the boot construction looks improved
the liners still look like shit tho, if only they could take a page out of salomons book…
i’d be very keen to try a pair of those sometime
October 8th, 2007 at 9:57 pm
The frames are sick…I cant wait to try them…They feel really fast. I dont know what the material is, but it feels like its gonna be awesome.
the liners are actually improved…I think they are the best to date…its hard to say tho without rolling them..The padding is thicker, and the liner sits higher up on the shin than past models, which is good. It think…great for stock liners.
October 8th, 2007 at 10:43 pm
i have these frames. i can never go back to a normal frame. simply stated.
October 8th, 2007 at 10:53 pm
RAD! How long have you been on them..what can you tell us?
October 8th, 2007 at 11:23 pm
wow man, really sick frames, but wouldnt it be nearly impossible to grind ledges? but who cares, if it is, then i’d just put on some antirocker and with 72mm it would still be much faster than all anti-rocker frames :)
btw, it must be heavy tho…
October 8th, 2007 at 11:38 pm
switch that cuff for a new one remz V cuff and a new one JUG liner and that blade is one of the best
October 8th, 2007 at 11:51 pm
I imagine it too be a biach to get a new set of 72mm when your first set wears out though.
x’x’

i just cant understand what you guys like about that skate… i find it horrible, the shape, the colour (grey again, come on!), everything… rollerblade itself.. i dont know, guess its not the type of company im willing to support…
October 9th, 2007 at 12:03 am
eehm, i realized what i dont like about RB … regarding Valo or Remz… its a company without a face to me… thats the difference which makes it less sympathic to me
October 9th, 2007 at 12:17 am
then you probably did not have a chance to skate 2001/2002 lines, did you rollerdude? ill post a pic of my totally destroyed Details…ive beeen skating them since 2001… RB definitelly is a company with a face to me. ye 01/02 best RBs ever.. although recent RB skates were not that good im sure RB will find the way back to the top ;)

another thing i realized, with 72 mm wheels, ur center of gravity would be higher right? wearing these frames could be compared to using heel shoes, making u really unbalanced when doing gaps, spins and stuff… ;p

i love these skates, they look alot like the grey estilos which in my book were the nicest skates out
October 9th, 2007 at 3:16 am
Those frames are sick. Im wondering if they will be compatible with other skates. Rene Hulgren was doing inverted 900’s in 1995 with like 78mm wheels and they werent rockered up into the frame like these frames (thanks Tom), so I dont think center of gravity applies. Most of you people are missing the point of this frames design. It will skate way faster than ANY other “aggressive” frame out there with less pumping and you can still grind(at least coping and rails, not sure about ledges). Im stoked to ride them.

Much better vidcast! very good rotating camera angles, I really liked hearing about the new m-type groove, I didn’t realize that they changed it.
And all the info shared on the new skate.
Loved it
October 9th, 2007 at 4:57 am
Will not support rollerblade. Period. Burn and die with K2 and Salomon already.
October 9th, 2007 at 5:10 am
a couple of you are really one sided on rollerblade when they are doing so much more for rollerblading than really any other company.
some things he did not state in this vid cast as the thicker liner and the flexier cuff. rollerblade is really stepping up their game, not only with their new skates but with their new team, for example: david sizemore, a really young kid who in just about every competition he enters, gets up with the top guys (haffey, aragon, stockwell) and he is so much younger, think about how good he wil be when he is their ages. rollerblade is his main sponsor and has made him big, they are making amature skaters actual names in the industry (nick uhas, sizemore, etc).
these skates are going to be awesome, i wasnt aware that they came stock with such big wheels, not only do they have huge wheels but they aso have abec 9 bearings. so to recap, new liner, new flex, big wheels for speed, abec 9 bearings, new groove that beats any other groove, new frame, new cutout in the shell, this is going to be THE best skate and THE best turnaround a company has ever made.

I too was leary of RB until I bought a pair of Treseder boots for only $20 brand new. I’ve ended up really liking them. Real solid feeling skate.
The Point 8 seems quite promising. I love the idea of the bigger wheels in the frame. Very smart. The color I’m not crazy about, though. Nothing a little RIT can’t solve!
October 9th, 2007 at 8:29 am
This’ll be THE rampskate to get. I’m not to sure about the effectiveness of the point8-frame on street obstacles though. And like said, it’s hard to get wheels in the 72 mm size. You’ll be ending up with buying RB wheels wich are, from my experience, not that durable.
I like the colorsetup though. The grey might be a bit boring but the blue highlighs are fresh. Hope that RB uses this kinda colors a bit more often.
October 9th, 2007 at 8:58 am
I cant wait till some of the top vert skaters get there hands on these, you think guys like yost and the yasatoko brothers go big now, wait until you see them skate a vert ramp with 72mm wheels.
October 9th, 2007 at 10:25 am
haa haa…. why shima makes company and tell that it 100% skater owned, probalby will have good team etc.. because its IMPORTANT!!!!
what rollerblade did to broskow, morales etc… haa haa haa… FUCH ROLLERBLADE!!! dont support company that is fucking skaters!!!
P.S. if morales and broskow wasnt skating for them some time ago their name “Rollerbalde” probalby be nothing at this time (for those who have done mach to rolling)…
October 9th, 2007 at 10:30 am
everything about the frames look to be UFS-compatible other than the way the wheels stick out of the top of the frame (requiring wheelwells in the boots/midsoles). with a dremel or bench grinder you could pretty easily modify any other skate to work with this frame/wheel setup.
as for the height, i’m skeptical. by my estimates this frame/wheel setup will put you at least 8-10mm higher off the ground, which doesn’t sound like a lot but definitely is in terms of COG, stability, and stress on the ankle. personally i think they should have kept the same idea, it’s one i’ve wanted to see implemented for years, but done it more moderately.
with slightly more aggressive wheelwells, you could fit up to around a 64mm wheel but keep the same ride height and COG as a normal frame with a 58mm wheel. maybe on the Point 9?
October 9th, 2007 at 10:55 am
oskar is right Rollerblade screwed over two of the biggest and best names in rollerblading by dropping all the pro team and signing all these am’s now fair enough this david sizemore is a beast but he aint no frankie or broskow(old broskow not crackhead broskow) and anyone who drops both of them seriously needs their heads checked
October 9th, 2007 at 11:05 am
well, i’m thinking of getting those, and i have never in eleven years of skating considered buying rollerblade brand skates.
October 9th, 2007 at 1:10 pm
i love it :)
October 9th, 2007 at 1:58 pm
josip: ditto!
people keep talking about how theres nothing new, how the skate industry lacks innovation, well, this is definitely original!
Im gonna get me a pair for sure
October 9th, 2007 at 2:08 pm
Old. I’m not surprised that people only noticed this video now because inlinewarehouse didn’t promote it.
Rollerblade must stop acting all corporate and shit and get in touch with rollerbladers. It sucks because Rollerblade ain’t dedicated to our branch of rollerblading. Make TRS a seperate brand with hardcore rollerblader staff focused solely on rollerblading because Its hard for Rollerblade to keep their attention on us when they gotta worry about the bigger majority of fitness and recreational rollerbladers out there.
Ironic isn’t it? We call what we do “rollerblading” but Rollerblade ain’t the top brand in it.
October 9th, 2007 at 5:03 pm
Yeah, if rollerblade was focused on the less popular, yet more educated branch of freestyle rollerblading, they might have a chance of getting biggest and having more rollerbladers join the art.
October 9th, 2007 at 5:06 pm
And to archer, your a friggen’ moron, this skate is not original what-so-ever, it is a mix of Remz, Deshi, and Valo. Just look at it, it’s gonna sell to a few amateur skaters, but in all literation, the major marketers for rollerblading such as Remz, Valo, Razor, and such, will be much more successful. Buy a pair of Remz and put away the guilt of a piece of shit skate.
October 9th, 2007 at 8:05 pm
i saw the tom hyser’s video explaining the boot and guess what?
the bolts are rockered up the frame, so ur center of gravity will be still low, like using a 56mm wheel(the proof is that the middle 56m wheels are touching the ground in the same lvl)
And yes Scott W. u can grind ledges but using anti-rockers on the middle (: it will be like using a
“56mm- Anti - Huge Groooooove - Anti -56mm”
but with the rolling speed of a 72mm and the outer wheels wont even catch cuz they are rockered up! :)
best frame ever
October 9th, 2007 at 10:12 pm
“ur center of gravity will be still low, like using a 56mm wheel”
not true at all. the wheelwells aren’t 16mm deep! i figure about 5mm at the most. this setup will be pretty low for a 72mm wheel, but not nearly as low as a “normal” aggressive setup. watch the video with tom again, even he admits they’re going to be taller.
“the proof is that the middle 56m wheels are touching the ground in the same lvl”
this doesn’t prove anything- the middle wheels are farther from the boot. you could make a frame with a 200mm wheel on the outside that was tall as shit and still have a 56mm in the middle rolling flat with the outer wheels.
October 9th, 2007 at 10:31 pm
These skates look good, frame is interesting and is worth a try!
The frames are out of zytel and delrin (from Dupont) which are both really durable materials.

October 9th, 2007 at 10:46 pm
rollerblade sucks as you all
October 10th, 2007 at 4:12 am
Remz_For_Life: rems doesnt have anything like this skate at all.
Rollerblade invented a whole new kind of anti-rocker frame/skate setup, if you cant see this design is original, you must be retarded or something
October 10th, 2007 at 4:38 pm
The Frame is not going to be durable at all, they built the skate so that theres a groove made into the skate which will make the skate utterlessly uncomfortable, you skate this, it’s like having xsjados but worse. Stick a rollerblade up your ass and try that, it’s original too.
