Iain got a raw deal a few years back, he seemed to have just gotten shelved and forgotten about. There was a time when skinny fit rocker style was big and it had a negative effect on skaters like Iain and Vinny Minton because everyone jumped on it and hated everything else. It seems now that things have calmed down and there’s becoming an improved mix of both styles in our sport. Hopefully this means we will see baggier, more tech skaters make a return to SHARE the spotlight, making our sport more diverse.
Aside from this, Iains section is fucking sick!! Too Legit!!

Iain is the most deserving rollerblading ever. You can see by his skating that he pushes himself, literally every time he puts on his skates, there is no other way to achieve his level otherwise. Immense respect to Iain is all i can say.

Basically, I think Mcleod got a shit deal because he was on Deshi and that company was always playing second fiddle, regardless of how good its riders may have been.
This guy is still a top level skater. I think his skating is still kind of traditional in some ways, like his spot selection is pretty uninspired, but he can clearly do anything he wants to on a pair of skates, which is more than I can say for a lot of yahoos with sections on rollernews.

as for Iain, he’s gotta be my favorite tech skater of all time. i like all forms of skating, but i like tech skating because it’s obviously hard, not everyone can do it. It gives a good counter-argument to skateboarders who, thanks to their Anti-Rollerblading propaganda, have convinced people that “rollerblading is easy.” and he goes WAY bigger than skateboarders on street, which is where it’s at for most people anyway (who wants to skate a mega ramp?), so PROPS!

1 – how do you progress when you can do every trick, both ways, spin in and out, and land them within a few tries, and have been able to for years? what do you want him to do, start backflipping onto flat rails??
2 – i personally think he IS still progressing, but even if he isn’t progressing, at least he isn’t digressing, like some other pros.
3 – some “PROs” cough…*****…cough… only grind with the same dominate foot and spin the same one way and don’t lace hammers, yet they are still in the spotlight and getting pro model products.

Not progressing? Iain has been skating regular and switch, and spinning both ways before some of you suckas were born, before skating switch was a trend in rollerblading.
Watch his older sections and compare the tricks, the kid has evolved like “OH SHIT!”

This section is amazing…iain mcleod is killing it and keeps getting better and better it is ridiculous. Someone made a very good point that this edit was way better than the edit that the kelso made to support the release of their new skate. But iain hasnt got a pro skate yet….hopefully next year that will be corrected…

@ fuck, Yeah the U.S. certainly deserves ALOT of credit when it comes to rollerblading and its progression. However, I sincerely doubt (at this point in time) that Germans would have that much trouble keeping themselves rolling without American companies. That being said, if there were never any U.S. Companies rollerblading probably would have never gotten anywhere. So in that respect the U.S. does deserve ALOT of gratitude from other countries like Germany.

bottom line is super sick. I’ve skated with him a few times while he was inbetween sponsors and I just don’t understand the thinking process of deshi for letting him go. They were not on point for this one. Iain is one of the most talented skaters ever. He can grind like a video game, spin better than Aragon, and has hops like a kangaroo. Not to mention he’s great with kids. That’s what you call a complete skater. He’s creative with his runs and in all honesty, you have to be on your A game just to be in his league on any given day. If you’ve seen the Section he had on O’Connors video, the big full torque on the cream ledge, guys I’m 6’3 and that ledge is up the the top of my chest, on my skates…

212 is some random school in the middle of no where don’t know how to get there. someone took us. and the skate park is a new one they just put in in irvine. It’s at a church off Culver. so if you exit culver off the 5 and you drive all the way down culver past university rode and campus rode you will see huge church on your left and the skate park is in there.

But i dont understand why everyone hates the direction that skating is going. i think that the growing variety in styles including the technical aspects are positive, skating is progressing all over the world with the wrs bringing new talent from europe like julien cudot into the mainsteam.
