Huge Skateboard Transfer : Video

Disclaimer : this is a skateboard video, if you’re one of the guys that ‘hate’ skateboard and still wonder why skateboarders hate you back in return, just skip this news. Translation for geeky riders : echo childish_complaints > /dev/null/
This video is one of the biggest stunt i saw in skateboard, well i don’t see a lot of skateboard related material so maybe this is a common stunt, but i don’t think so. The rider (any clue about his name ?) took speed from a monster launcher, and landed his 5 seconds fly into something that look like a hybrid maxi ramp. Take a look at the air he did after landing the tricks, he is above 5 meters from the coping which is allready pretty high!

Thats so sweet
its from the old dc video

November 16th, 2006 at 9:15 am
insane trick ! ;) i have seen that one in the past
November 16th, 2006 at 9:20 am
that’s Bob Burnquist, I think, he made that in his backyard.
November 16th, 2006 at 9:26 am
Fuckin insane - itd either be burnquist or danny way
November 16th, 2006 at 9:30 am
nah thats danny way, and thats the DC ramp that cost like a million.
November 16th, 2006 at 9:38 am
well i believe in me.. it did look big enough to spend a million.. but seriosly anybody that has that in their backyard must have a problem.. can you imagine how it feels to have something like that?? i had a prail right outside my door.. and i would wake up in the night and want to skate.. just a few tricks.. just start imagining waking up in the middle of the night and want to “session” the jump.. id be scared of living near it..
November 16th, 2006 at 9:40 am
danny way..
and old.
November 16th, 2006 at 9:48 am
lmao
i remember when me and the guys at rollerwarehouse planned to how to stop danny way from doin the great wall gap.

Why so impressed? They do that in the xgames for 2 years now (called skateboard big air. They also have it for bmx)Danny Way won both times and is the best at it so it is probly him. Maybe cause we have been absent at X , thats why nobody has seen this. This might be alittle bigger than the ramp they use at Xgames, but not that big a difference. I wish we were still at X mostly because I would like to see what one of our pros could do. And KOUBIS ,I know that a great trick is a great trick.I’m trying to be mature and act my age, but I do feel that this is NOT something that should be posted here. I didn’t mind the Travis Pastrana Double backflip(that was amazing). But most of us have resentment towards THEM.
November 16th, 2006 at 10:03 am
Danielson : yes maybe the video looked good for me because i didn’t watch a xgames broadcast since rollerblading was removed.
And don’t worry, i’m not against the fact that someone don’t like skateboard as long as his argumentation is not only filled with crude words ;) I’m not a superfan either, but this looked spectacular.
November 16th, 2006 at 10:14 am
i remember they had this at an asa championship way back when, it wasnt as big, but it was back in…..99 maybe, back when nicky adams and sam fogerty were around
November 16th, 2006 at 10:16 am
How to waste money ….
Buy a snowboard it s cheaper ….
November 16th, 2006 at 10:17 am
Cool dude, I thought you were going to rip on me for not being completely happy about this ,when you made a point to ask us to not be childish
November 16th, 2006 at 10:27 am
I wish some company would make a shirt that read” F the Xgames”. or
“F ESPN”. Am I the only one that would buy that?
November 16th, 2006 at 11:43 am
Or how how about ” ESPN apparently poker is a sport, but inline is not.”
November 16th, 2006 at 11:44 am
it’s /dev/null :)
November 16th, 2006 at 12:14 pm
That was HUGE man :-)
November 16th, 2006 at 12:23 pm
thats off the sky advert
November 16th, 2006 at 1:03 pm
I’d skate that. Seriously.
And my name’s only one letter away from “Danny Way”, years ago Arlo was commentating a contest here in SA and he purposefully said that was my name and then had to placate the horde of skateboarders that appeared when they heard that Danny Way was there ;)
November 16th, 2006 at 3:05 pm
That was sweet. Very smooth.
Now what needs to happen, is a stealth mission of say Haffey, Aragon, Yasutokos, Edwards, and basically any other Rollers who can bring it, 6 or 7 high def cameras, and then the world can witness what could really be done at that spot. I think “The Viking” should come out of retirement and bi0 9 it on a pair of Roces Impalas.
I love skateboarders who give respect where its due.
Most of them just have no idea. Hey man “We are cooler than you cuz we stand sideways on a piece of wood and flip it around”. The funny thing is back in the late 80’s skateboarders were made fun of and got their asses kicked for being outcast. And now, mainstream society has decided its cool to stand sideways on a piece of wood and flip it around. The more exposure true rollers have to the sheep of this planet, the more the sheep will understand.
We arent going anywhere. And just so all you young bucks know, BMX and skateboarding “died” and then were reborn.
So when people talk about Rolling dying, understand, it already has, and we are being reborn as I write.
November 16th, 2006 at 4:17 pm
it’s danny way.
bob burnquist did bild a ramp similar to this one in his back yard
you can find the clip at yourdailymedia.com
November 16th, 2006 at 4:31 pm
mhm
i think its a pretty cool thing but i dont know y its in the x games
danny way and bob burnquist are the only persons doing this
i saw danny way first time winning it on the x games and i saw the other riders
he pulled 360 and kickflips and the others not even landed on the other side
thats stupid
i was bored
so
but for a blader i think its pretty easy
but it would look sick if some one bio900 that thing

OLD
November 17th, 2006 at 2:19 am
I would Not want one of OUR pros doing more than maybe 540 or 720 on this huge transfer. I, like everyone else would love to see one of our pros destroy this launch jump. But think of how dizzy you would be after a 900 or more. It would be hard for them to spot their landing. They might get very hurt or worse. I wouldn’t complain if I saw “one of us” do a 900 bio or something, but they would definately be risking it big compared to some skateboarder doing a 360 or backflip.
November 17th, 2006 at 3:54 am
Yeah, and what is the chances that some skateboard website has the “666 rail” or the Chris Farmer kink of death posted. I don’t think they do. And if they did it would just be some prop to make fun of us.
November 17th, 2006 at 4:44 am
i have to give props on that shit
November 17th, 2006 at 5:45 am
respect
November 17th, 2006 at 7:51 am
who cares..
November 17th, 2006 at 9:05 am
Danny Way, DC Vid, like 2 years ago.
still insane though, biggest action sports stunt i’ve ever seen. how anyone could gather the balls to do that is beyond me.
November 17th, 2006 at 9:54 am
ok, seriously.
THIS IS WHAT SKATEBOARDING FORUMS ARE FOR.
November 17th, 2006 at 10:03 am
OMGGGG
November 17th, 2006 at 11:16 am
好耐之前看过拉 ~~~
November 17th, 2006 at 1:27 pm
I think its burnquist
fuckin insane
November 17th, 2006 at 5:38 pm
Danielson,
My whole point was that the 360 on a piece of wood was sweet but Haffey,Aragon, Yasutokos, and any number of guys out there could show the entire world just how “gay”
rolling really is with a bio 9, or whatever they were feeling. Somthing that big needs the same kind of coverage as The backflip Metzgar did at Ceasars palace. They need cameras everywhere, the more the better. Of course there is a chance of gettin hurt, but to be honest with you, the guys at the top of rolling are already risking their lives all the time.
I mean Richard Taylor(an expert roller) hit a concrete lamp post on a street near his home just rolling on the street. When Farmer,Haffey,Lennon, Cosimo, roll all this burly stuff in the street they dont wear helmets. If you hit the back of your head on concrete just falling backward on the sidewalk YOU CAN DIE. Believe me, I am a paramedic and I have seen it. That jump is no more dangerous than these huge ledges and drop rails these guys are rolling. As long as they clear the gap they have like a 100′ landing ramp to slide down, a hella of alot different than sticking on a grind and falling backward of a 30′ drop rail to your head on concrete. All of the top rollers could destroy that gap and show the whole world that this is not the 1997 x-games rolling they have all seen. Its almost 2007 and ROLLERBLADERS are KILLING everything!! We know that, but the world doesnt. The sooner they know, the sooner all our pros will get payed what they deserve.
November 18th, 2006 at 2:27 am
thats really really old
November 18th, 2006 at 6:15 am
stupidos…
thats skateboarder is danny way ….
he is the only world guiness record holder for the longest and highest jump on skateboard…
i used to be so impressive with him when i skateboard..
but now its like nothing when i venture into rollerblading…
we rollerbladers could do so many crazier tricks than them …
peace….
November 18th, 2006 at 3:02 pm
This sucks dude this website is like for blading not wood pushes man ROLLERBLADING FOR LIFE MAN!!!! HOLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
November 19th, 2006 at 2:05 am
danielson. i saw farmers mega kink on a skateboarder forum and u better believe it, all they did was talk shit on it. saying shit like, damn rolling must be easy if you can just sit on a rail like that and ride it etc…
i think there were about 3 positive posts amongst 100 or so… now thats gay
November 19th, 2006 at 4:39 pm
Thats ok if they think its easy. I always thought it looked easy when Jordan jumped from the freethrow line and slammed a basketball. lol! They talk shit because they cant roll 90% of what we roll. And no skateboarder will EVER do that rail, EVER! Yeah, all that shit Jordan did was easy! I could do it in my sleep! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 19th, 2006 at 4:59 pm
big fucking deal….i bet you one of theose yasotoko vert skaters (the 2 rollers who r brothers) would like double back flip that gap or like triple flatspin it haha
November 19th, 2006 at 6:17 pm
Scott W, as always, good point. I agree that our pros could rip that ramp apart. I wasn’t trying too come off like a big pussy, when I made a point about the risks involved. It’s just that we have to tricks so much better to get a little respect.I would not want to see something bad happen to one of our boys in a Quest for respect. But hey, if our guys/girls ever get a chance to destroy that shit, I will watch happily. But remember how you mentioned Richard Taylor? That is why I brought up the saftey issue in the first place.Watching that memorial video made me sad. I just don’t want to have to watch more.Good point about Jordan too. Glad to hear your a paramedic. Atleast some of us are doing something productive. Peace dude.
November 19th, 2006 at 6:19 pm
gav, I knew thats what would happen. Thanks for confirming my hypothesis. peace
November 19th, 2006 at 9:56 pm
Y a une rumeur comme koi il a pris 5grammes de cocaine avant de le jeté son disaster.Et oui mai sbien ouaich faut pas en abuser quand méme paske la prochaine sa pourrai étre moins marrant
November 21st, 2006 at 1:15 pm
it’s danny way i’m sure
he’s the one to do that and that day he broke 2 worlds records while this video was taken
(the record of highest jump and the other i don’t remember)
November 21st, 2006 at 6:00 pm
danny way did like a rocket backlip on a same ramp as this.. o.O
November 21st, 2006 at 11:41 pm
kinda funny that “war” against skateboarders… I prefer stay a watcher in the conflict, and keep skatin’ when some are sayin’ shit on the others… don’t you?
Amazing gap, even if it’s old (what’s the matter?), and even if Haffey or anybody could land it or somethin’ harder, higher or what. I like to see somebody doin’ things like that, whoever it is (skateboarder, roller, truckdriver, grandmother…
) ;o)
November 22nd, 2006 at 5:55 am
that was fuggin insane.
November 23rd, 2006 at 10:32 pm
hey should i get the usd all star 07s or the remz 07s cuase they are both good and i cant decide
which one is better
November 23rd, 2006 at 11:12 pm
I’m sorry that’s old news. We have a few guys that was allowed on the Big Air ramp that did way sick shit than that and you’ll never see it on T.V.
The only reason why skateboarding is still alive is cause they had to figure out a way to get more air we do. So they created the big air comp. which they stole from snowboarding which is so funny since they keep talking about how their the originators of all the cool shit that comes out now. Skateboarding will die out with the birth of the new era of Inline.
