It’s actually cheaper to buy bearing in bulk. Lots of companies sell lots of 100 bearings or so.

** the sleeve that is inserted at the end to keep the bearing balls greased seems important. I got a set of ThemGoods Swiss bearings the other day and the protector sleeve was not in place on one side of the bearings? I can see the ball bearings? Does anyone know what thats about?

kool to know and yes those are bigger than your average but about the same design, price wise one machine would set you back around 100,000dollers easy depending on brand and quality of it..

it wouldnt be viable to buy your own machines just to produce your own brand but yea good at least there is the choice between how good quality it is and materials… i know one brand that could do some improvments .. can anyone guss??;)

oh and the price differences is due to the quality and tolerance differences from each thing made. both cost money and time

I’ve always wondered how the actual balls are made, this didn’t shed too much light on that but the whole automated process was interesting.

Because some use better materials than other. In the video, they are made by NTN, who makes industrial quality bearings. However, the bearings that come with our skates are just basic ones made in China in the same factory.

interesting, it makes you think that all these bearing companies, must use the same supplier, and get their own brand name printed on theirs……

if that makes sense,
(cause it would cost a bomb if each company set up/have its own machines,)
