March 5th, 2010 at 2:52 pm
if any form of inline is going to get the most positive atention from people unfamiliar with it, its going to be vert…that shit is like superhuman. what no double viking from takeshi?
March 5th, 2010 at 3:50 pm
So with that triple backflip attempt I have some questions:
It was on an X-Games ramp, can anyone tell me when and how that one occured?
And he popped out too far but didn’t really over flip it and made it look very do-able. I’ve seen that clip of Marco at on the Woodward resi ramp, (crazy as!), but has he or anyone else landed a clean triple on a proper vert ramp?

thanks everyone for the patients. It took a long time to refinish as I had to wait for footage from skaters and we rarely are all in one place at once so it got tricky filming just before contests but here it is!
March 5th, 2010 at 4:41 pm
Where can I buy it as an European?
March 5th, 2010 at 4:47 pm
Yeah will any UK skate shops be selling it?
March 5th, 2010 at 5:10 pm

Vert is unbelievably under-appreciated. I could never do that shit.
We need to get more vert on TV. Vert is what will get kids back into inline again.
Street just doesn’t jump out at people anymore. I’m not going to get into the clothes thing, but rollerblading, at the moment, looks too much like skateboarding.
It doesn’t stand out enough. It looks like we’re riding skateboarding’s dick. And right now, we might just be. We’re filming like they do, doing more lines like they do and we all know about the clothes. It’s not the fact we’re wearing tighties, it’s the fact we’re wearing tighties at the same time they are. XXXL joggers, whether you hate it or not, did set us apart. I used to be able to get on a bus and think “there’s a rollerblader” by what he wore, even if they didn’t have skates on. You just can’t do that shit any more.
Would love to see some vert rollin’ back on TV and more kids coming into what we do. Because what we do is the best. We all know it, society needs to know it too.
March 5th, 2010 at 6:33 pm
I wanna see ‘the viking’ back on the vert….
March 5th, 2010 at 7:26 pm
Oh! I’m soooo glad they are doing this! we need vert skating in rollerblading!
it’s a hell of a show! and vert skating needs this more, the guys gotta get togheter and make it happen in videos and contests. In my personal opinnion I think skaters should make demos and shows for the average person, so that more and more people get to see rollerblading live, and start to be more interested in rolling!
anyways! great stuff! keep it up guys!
regards,
Fred

FUCK YEAHUHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
March 5th, 2010 at 8:21 pm
I agree with DarthRoller, for the most part. But the specific aspect of vert that will make kids interested is how BIG they go. The same principle applies to street and park skating as well. Rollerbladers go MUCH bigger than skateboarders do, and that is one of the clearest differences between the two sports that will hopefully translate into more people wanting to lace up a pair of boots and throw down instead of standing around with a piece of wood in their hands.
But the truth is, and I hate to say it, nothing would be better for rollerblading than if TMZ broke a story that Tony Hawk and Ryan Scheckler are having funky butt sex.
March 5th, 2010 at 8:36 pm
Yes I agree. Park and street will always be the more popular and more accessible aspects of rollerblading but vert also has a roll to play in making rollerblading as strong as it can be as a whole. Non-Bladers understand flipping and height over technical skating…
The DVD will be distributed through Integrated to skate shops in the next 4-5 weeks. Mean while it’s available on http://www.Highrollaz.org

March 6th, 2010 at 5:26 am
intense! i wrote this first and then read the comments….
i’m glad people are giving vert the respect it deserves! it’s very different from street skating but equally amazing to me!
March 6th, 2010 at 5:36 am
Vert does need some new blood. There hasn’t been any new vert heroes in a long time.
March 6th, 2010 at 7:11 am
DARTHROLLER,
i agree with you.
This is the good shit that is so under appreciated, its fucking amazing, wish i had a vert ramp when i was younger.
This is what people need to see to realise that skating isnt lycra around the river or some little pimple faced punk scraping kerbs. this is evidently a disciplined aspect of the sport and will gain us much respect.
…just wish i could do that shit!
March 6th, 2010 at 8:10 am
Hell yeeeah!! Anyone talking shit about vert is an idiot and obviously jealous. Vert skating is soo ridiculous and as DARTHROLLER said “under appreciated”. So glad they made a DVD featuring vert skating.
March 6th, 2010 at 10:00 am
