Gnaf (42 Years Old, France): Edit
I featured a lot of young skaters over the years and i was pleased to get a message from Gnaf, about his Profile. Gnaf is born is 1968 (42 years old), and this is surely the edit of the oldest skater i have seen.

Filmed by the Utopie Crew, edited by Guillaume Chanaud.

March 7th, 2010 at 6:48 am
i think its guys like him that are going to help the industry be where it needs to be, i skate with a couple of older guys and they pull a couple tricks that i still find hard, to be 42 years old and still doing down rails is my dream, just imagine being 12 years old in 2010 and just getting your skates, then dont stop skating till your 42! Thats thirty years of skating, if you think about it will = more skates, frames, clothing etc. bought over the years + the new rollers that join the scene between the time elasped. Now imagine if every new roller kept skating into there fourties and beyond, also the rollers that have been skating before them in the earlier years. What im getting at is its guys like Gnaf that are really going to help the industry, not sponsorship, or the introduction to pop culture but simply people who skate for a majority of there life
ps. good shit Gnaf
March 7th, 2010 at 7:41 am
Very inspirational, I loved it! Seeing OG’s like Gnaf, Arlo, B Love, Tom Hyser, Mike Opalek, Dante Muse, and countless others OG’s that are still skating are the main reason I still roll today. Keep on rolling guys!
March 7th, 2010 at 9:22 am
i’m almost 28 n as i can see i have unless another 14 years to skate hopefully more :)
keep up skating Gnaf u r n inspiration
very nice edit

pretty damn awesome. i turn 29 this year. julio still skates and he’s older than me. ahah
March 7th, 2010 at 11:11 am
YEAAAAA SUUUURE
I wish that i will dress like a teenage boy and do low-speed-knee-high-ledge ugly-as-fuck-grinds when I’ll be 42. That’s a hell of a perspective.
March 7th, 2010 at 12:15 pm
Respect.
I’ve dropped the baggy pants and the key chain long ago but I’m still skating at 33. I don’t really feel any physical limitation yet and your edit gives me a lot of hope. Congratulations.
March 7th, 2010 at 1:46 pm
yeah man, i’m pretty sure it won’t be any easier in your forties so that was class…
March 7th, 2010 at 2:36 pm
Philippe Kafrouny power !
March 7th, 2010 at 2:58 pm
@ Yo
Well, then…if you’re dressing in plaid shirts & Tommy Boy shorts & going all Waldo by 42, then that’s your fault.
This guy is damn flexible for his age, and he still puts down tricks!
Stop rolling & go learn shuffleboard, wanker!
March 7th, 2010 at 3:00 pm
cool, now i wanna see Dante Muse make an edit!!
I think rollerbladers are starting to realize that there are separate categories of bladers. We used to lump everyone in together: girls were supposed to compete at the same level as the guys and no consideration was given for age, either young or old. But on skateboarding websites, I would notice they would have pics of the “cool guys” but then there would also be pics of guys in their 40′s, young kids, and occasionally a girl! It’s part of marketing really, you need to reach all groups at once and having a diversity of skaters represented helps reach a more diverse audience. I think rollerbladers are starting to understand this concept and as a minority in our sport (both in gender and now age) I really, really appreciate this positive step. keep it up!
March 7th, 2010 at 3:03 pm
still having fun doing what i love and still rockin’ is a hell of a fuckin’good perspective, according to me.
March 7th, 2010 at 3:11 pm
Nice, dude !
keep it going ! In my view it’s cool when people don’t give a damn about stereotypes and do that they love to do !
Btw, In Moscow there Is a skater who’s age is over 50 !!! Not sure how old is he, but something about 54 years old…
March 7th, 2010 at 3:35 pm

March 7th, 2010 at 4:20 pm
March 7th, 2010 at 4:46 pm
March 7th, 2010 at 4:55 pm

March 7th, 2010 at 10:04 pm
that guy was sick, good to see him rolling around
March 7th, 2010 at 10:30 pm
What a hero.
I’ve always hoped that I could roll into my fifties or sixties provided I look after my health, my diet, work on flexibility, work out generally etc, even if the high-impact stuff has to go at some stage.
So to see a guy at 42 who’s still doing rails…..nothing but respect. Gives you a lot of hope.
Too many people say “oh my God, this guy’s only 16 and he’s amazing”….I think that age focus is ridiculous as, I know I for one, could fall seriously hard and get straight back up at that age…..so if anything, youth is an advantage?
Really glad I’ve started getting warmed up and warmed down for sessions now. I’m 23 and when I was 20-22 I noticed my body was beginning to feel “worn down” but now I can rollerblade for like 8 hours and feel absolutely fine, no pain next day.
Definitely gives me hope that I can roll for at least a few hours each week in my forties and fifties……hopefully beyond!!!
March 7th, 2010 at 10:41 pm
haha I always new ‘rollerblading is gay’ was on og.
March 7th, 2010 at 10:41 pm

March 8th, 2010 at 1:32 am
So many thanks to you, i have 30 years old and this video for me it’s one of the most important videos i ever seen here =]
March 8th, 2010 at 1:57 am
Such a nice guy too, well done Gnaf, keep it going till 142!
People always say stuff like “im 22 maybe im too old to skate” but look around you, profesional athletes like footballers play profesional football up to around 38 some of them, and if a 38 year old can play 90 minutes of football we can skate for sure, if we look after ourselves a bit. Thats the hard part though. :)
March 8th, 2010 at 1:10 pm
respect!!!
if my knees handle… i’ll bit u! hahaha
March 8th, 2010 at 9:55 pm
March 8th, 2010 at 10:41 pm
March 9th, 2010 at 7:29 am
Respect!
I really admire this guy and wish him to keep rolling. It is really cool to admit, that older people are interested in aggressive inline. I hope someone of them can really help the industry and bring much more exposure to out sport.
It could be really cool if aggressive blading could become Olympic. Just imagine how much would the governments give for parks etc!
March 9th, 2010 at 11:45 am
nice guy, very inspirational :)
March 9th, 2010 at 4:14 pm
thats going to be me one day long live rollerblading for the person that does it
he must know and have seen alot of rollerblading and hows its changed and stuff
it was going to be olympic but nodody was going to represent ever part of the world sooooo
March 9th, 2010 at 11:08 pm
Oli, if people are too old to skate at 22, it’s because they’re too old mentally, not physically…too many dumbasses in that sport !
March 14th, 2010 at 5:45 pm
March 17th, 2010 at 10:44 am
