This is great edit, and clearly FISE is a huge event. With the exception of the flat-landers, the rollerbladers in this edit are the only ones not wearing helmets. There are a few problems with this.
Problem one: a missed opportunity to use helmets to promote sponsors for industry companies to a large mass of people who likely don’t know a great deal, if anything, about rollerblading.
Problem two: The industry mentality of being “too cool” for helmets has to change. I view those not wearing helmets as trying to make a statement that they are exceptional at what they do, and don’t need one (though it’s true everyone needs one at one time or another). A likely outsider view is that our sport is too easy compared to other sports, and that is why these skaters aren’t wearing any. If for nothing other than aesthetic purposes, wear a helmet, make the statement that what we do is dangerous enough that it warrants the use of a helmet!
first of all WORD @ Joes Abbey! you are absolutley right about the helmet thing!
It is really nice to NOT see skateboarding in this video and it is really nice that it has been made really cool and like a skate dvd! not like a sports tv report crap filming movie! I think the sport has the potential to get bigger sponsors … there are enought “cool” pros out there who could stand thier man! one thing is for sure … they must wear helmets at contests .. reasons allready mentioned!

Now you can see that skatepboarding isn’t a extreme sport for range like that.
