Featuring the World : Review

The intro to Featuring the World is really sweet and makes you want to see more. There are loads of nice lines. The skating and editing is fast and goes perfectly well with the Boxer Rebellion song. What I really like about all the Be-mag releases is that they are really “Featuring the World”. You get to see skaters form all over the world which is great. I also think that it’s great that Be-mag is not only throwing together random footage, they organise their own tours to get their own footage. They invite people like Aragon, the Kelsos, Horngacher, Murda, Broskow, Stockwell, Morris and tons of other people to be on their tours and to make sure that you get to see some sick shit.

The Roskilde Tour section is really sick. There are tons of hot tricks in there… One of the sickest tricks is a Disaster Royal by Stefan Horngacher which is even bigger than Cam Card’s Disaster Royal in the last Be-mag release. It’s unbelievable how insane this guy is. The music and the editing are excellent; they leave absolutely no room for boredom. After watching the Australia section I really wanted to go back to Australia so bad and to skate there. The whole Aussie atmosphere and the relaxed lifestyle are transported so well that it almost kills you to not be there right now. The skater that impressed me most was Tien Nguyen. It must be sooo hard to skate with just one arm. How do you catch yourself? How do you spin? You have to see this with your own eyes!

This time the full profiles were given to Richie Eisler and Dominik Wagner. Dominik’s profile is really sick. In his profile he is making clear why he is one of Europe’s top pros. Unfortunately you can’t see any of his pool-skating skills. Dominic is one of the best pool skaters in the whole world as he can easily be compared to Stockwell or Bailey. I have seen him skate pools several times and he never fails to make everybody else’s tricks look like they were nothing. He always is the fastest skater in the skatepark and his smallness makes his big tricks even more impressive.

Richie Eisler is Canada’s most famous skater but still I have never known how good this guy actually is. His skating looks great, his tricks are clean and they look like he really knows what he’s doing. His combos are fast and hard. He can do huge gaps and disasters. Richie kills everything from small curbs to huge gaps; also if these gaps require to jump over quite a bit of water. But what’s good skating without a nice song? Be-mag chose Junior Boys’ ‘In the Morning’ which is really sweet.

The two mixed sections are both very good. They show a good mix of hammers, creative and stylish skating. You get to see rollerbladers from all over the world. There are many professionals as well as pretty unknown skaters. Danny Jensen skates very impressive and he is the guy that really sticks out the most. Danny goes huge and I am pretty surprised by the fact that I have never heard of him before. In the Bonus section you will find more information on the featured tours as well as some other stuff.
