Jeff Linett (thejlc.com, Studio 838 / Los Angeles) posted some nice photos of his work, including some shots for the Daily Bread’s subscription page. (Sadly, according to him, it seems that there is no more Daily Bread.)

+5000 hits for rollernews for sure ;)

this is not fashion.the sooner these type of shoots disapeer out of rolling publications the better, how are predominatly ropey models in ripped up poorly styled skate tees showing the product off or showing how great it can look on,all this crap is is wanking material for the kids bying the magazines, someone please step up and shoot something REAL

  8. Tom Says:

Bah, this is fashion, but this is also “art” in a way. The picture at the top of page 3, where the model wears only a stygma tie, looks like a nice piece of art.
Pure fashion is pretty useless, fashion tending to art is beautiful.

  9. seenmy Says:

i dread to think what art education you have to view it as art,

these shoots should advertise the clothes show the fit of the product how good it can look on, not hacked up tshirts on on girls, when lets face it rollerblading is predominantly a male pastime only stigma of the above ccompanies produce any womens garments, if i was incharge of any of those brands id be pissed seeing the product i produced shown in a way that noone can see how it really looks.

  10. Kevin Baguley Says:

  11. joey Says:

I highly doubt daily bread is gone. It could be slanderous gossip.

  12. brendan860 Says:

wow they all got the heroin look in one of those pics. haha and that chick with the solomons-not hot or remotely attractive…ehh

yeah i defently agree with you, this shit is want some fucking erotic photos aint gonna make some kids bye some skates, i dont see why rollerblading is degraded to some stupid girls in stupid ripped up cloths and skimpy skirts.

i dread to think what art education you have to view it as art,

Call me crazy, but I do not think you need an education to appreciate art. Art is about self expression….Do you really need to be taught by some one else how YOU view self expression or express YOURSELF?

  15. seenmy Says:

it was a response to the comment made about my 1st post, tom came at me with a response that deamed that i dont know what im talking about and that he dose?

i agree that a piece of art to a piont can be anything you deem with your own eyes to be beautiful or interesting or challenging.I dont know how jeff sees his work?wether he sees this as art?in fact id like to know?

I dont see this as art or particulary artistic I feel it challenges nothing and looks cheap and actually down grades the featured items of clothing, therefore failing in my eyes completely as a piece of editorial fashion photography.

  16. Tom Says:

As Corey said, you don’t really need an education to appreciate what you find “beautiful”…People can find beauty in many different stuff, and that’s what makes the diversity, which is a major component in the culture.
Anyway, I consider photography as an art, just as any other.
I wasn’t dealing with rollerblading when I wrote that stuff up there…

I do agree with people saying maybe it’s somehow bad for rollerblading image, but I ALSO say it looks good :)

  17. seenmy Says:

I also see photography as a art , i agree varitey is the spice of life and that everyone should enjoy what they want to enjoy visually , if you see this stuff as art i really suggest you get out there and look at some real photography.I think youl be blown away.

  18. vermontroller2 Says:

wow, those are some beautiful woman. It makes me feel good that they would take the time to model some rollerblading clothing. I agree with everyone who says that this kind of photography is art. its amazing.

  19. seenmy Says:

you know theyget payed to model right?these girls arent hot half of them look like hookers for gods sake, and i bet the money wasted on these shots by magazines would be eqilavent to getting another profile in an issue i know which id rather see adorning the pages of the magazine!

and for gods sake there is noting artistic about these photos please please open your eyes to the world that surrounds you.

  20. PEneoark Says:

    me so horny

  21. Tom Says:

Seenmy, kind to care about my photographic culture :-) Don’t worry, I already watched and took plenty of pictures…As a french, I have to know about Cartier-Bresson, Willy Ronis, Robert Doisneau and so much more.
I just think some of these compositions are interesting!
Could I be wrong about a matter of personnal taste ? ;)
Anyway, I find such a news interesting, regarding the amount of comments down there ! (It changes of the usual “sick!” ^_^ )

  22. razor_dave Says:

almost all of these pics have been published in unity because they have a rolling fashion section in all the recent issues

  23. Chris W Says:

I’m not diving into this debate. I’m just going to say what I’ve said before, if you don’t like it step up and do something better…

  24. Oneone1Onezero0 Says:

Sorry, I agree with Seemy on this one. Rolling and models don’t mix. I mean if you are a photographer, you see these artistic looking models and then you see the rollerbladers sticking out like a sore thumb. If you are a rollerblader, you see the tricks and rails n’shit, and then you see this model wearing a rolling shirt or whatnot. Chances are, she knows jackshit about rolling yet she wears the shirt because she’s doing what she’s told. To the rollerbladers, the model is out of place.

  25. Oneone1Onezero0 Says:

Most of the models look like they came out of a funeral home. The one in the first pic looks like a vampire. In the 2nd one, even though Fallon H. skates, her salos are out of place. I mean think about it, you read maxim/hustler/playboy/cosmopolitan, and you see women in lace n shit. Lace is symbolic of softness, gentleness, femininity, [insert adjective here]. Yet she’s holding a pair of aggressive skates, symbolic of pain, dirt, blood, bruises, scars, pretty much anything un-feminine. Am I the person that sees something wrong with this? In the mainstream magazines, never do you see something so contradictory as this. The 3rd pics seems like the 2 girls are putting on lipgloss, but were too stupid to realize that it was a wheel/wrench and not lipgloss. While I give the photographer props for being creative, I think that shot was also out of place. *It is interesting however, that the model’s eyes match the color of the antirocker…maybe that was intentional?

  26. Oneone1Onezero0 Says:

The 4th pic looked like it was supposed to be something you would see the night of the prom. Unfortunately, the mannequins at marshall field’s look more realistic than the 2 models. And once again, the pale ghastly make-up and the stiff, lifeless poses almost convince me that they are in fact mannequins. By the way, Omar Wysong looks like a transgendered Mona Lisa.

Alright, fine. In the 5th pic, Omar is back to himself. He’s doing a handplant. Everything’s going fine until this girl starts to do her interpretive dance in the middle of the trick, thus fucking up what could have been the cover of next month’s be-mag. 6th pic: Never do you see yellow eyeshadow. The poor girl looks like she’s suffering from protein defficiency(sp?). The refugee children from those commercials look healthier than her.

  27. DRT Says:

come on dont take it that seriously its for fun ok. its a damn advertisement its supposed to be entertaining and look good. plus you can see how the shirts really look on the guys. loosen up you pussys haha have you never seen a girl before? fuck yeah rolling and hot models mix, we should get the girls for the damn stunts we do and the shirts do have style.

  28. Tom Says:

Well, since it stays constructive, this debate is quite good. Giving his opinion like Oneone1Onezero0 did is very interesting for me.
There are a few noticeable things in what u say, and especially about the second photo of the first page. The girl is all softness (and much more with the lingerie she’s wearing), and the skates are quite of the opposite of that. The question is : is that done in purpose ? In my opinion yes !

(btw for me, skating is what u said, but it’s also fun, pleasure and so much more). And a good skater, with a hell of style, is pretty sensual to watch, just like some of those models.

  29. jack Says:

    awesome :)

  30. seenmy Says:

ok for me the fatal floors in these images are more to do with the styling than the photographic execution as i have seen non fashion pieces of jeffs work and he is a good photographer, but if you going to shoot fashion you need to style, and style good.

i dont understand why fallon need to be shot in her underwear, its hardly showing equality in our scene when the only shots we see of our female pros are in a sexual light?

I just see no place in rolling magazines for this stuff, fact is each of these shots is costing us at least 1 or 2 rolling images, and in an industry where money is scarce lets give the money to the guys out there busting there arses lugging all there gear around to shoot the skaters what our scenes all about.not wasting money on cheap models for a cheap flash of flesh in the magazine.go buy maxim or playboy if you need that at least you get what you paying for then

  31. Pajero Says:

bla bla bla. Why is everybody trying to find something bad on this pics?! Its nice to see awsome girls even if they wear rolling clothes, so try to enjoy it and not to find something bad pls…

  32. Roussel Says:

my question is why is a bit of skin flipping you guys out? whats wrong with the female body that is going to make rollerblading look so bad. why are sexy pictures so negative all of a sudden?

the composition for most of these shots is great, the quality is high, the lighting and cropping on most of them is good too. they look proffessional and i think if you would ask any other proffessional photographer, or photography proffessor they will tell you this is fashion photography.

  33. Arsène Says:

    i love it :) congrats !

  34. CoreyMcCumber Says:

I have not read any follow ups to any of this, and all I want to say is the Fallon wears kids skates…..And I think it looks good as just a pure fashon set of photos…Stop thinking of it as a “rolling” set and think of it as more of a “rolling themed fashon shoot”. Its not ment as a” THIS IS ROLLERBLADING STUFF, BUY IT! ” Its just some photos taken for fun, taken for art and thats about it.

  35. Xwdjordan Says:

i mean theyre damn hot!!!and everybody wo flips out i think they should think about if theyre gay because the pics are really sexy!!!so think about it=)

  36. tobin Says:

great foto…and very nice models :)

besides the fact that rollerblading-clothing is boring as shit(tees tees tees, hoodies, zippers, tees, tees, longsleeves) …i really do like how it`s put up here… omar looks rad

  39. jeff linett Says:

Seenmy silly little kid. Grow up. Its rollerblading. Dont lie to yourself and think the industry pays me enough to pay the girls. They are all real models, but they are freinds. I dont pay ANYONE when its inline work. Sorry, but its true.

    Thank you to everyone else.

  40. Adam Says:

    LOOK B!TCH… I’M FAMOUS!!

  41. nikole hernandez Says:

You want to know what’s immature? Wasting even five minutes of your precious time bitching about how Jeff styles his pictures or making fun of them at all. They are quality pieces of work. If you would spent your time out shooting pictures, rollerblading, or doing something productive you probably wouldn’t all be such ignorant piss ants. Instead you rather sit and talk badly behind your keyboards hoping your mother doesn’t catch you writing this post.
Some of you may have valid points about these girls not even rollerblading or knowing anything about it, but they bring something awesome to the mags these photos get published in. They give all of you immature dorks a chance to finally see some titties. :) PRAISE

  42. Kori Says:

I don’t understand why people are saying that rollerblading and models are out of place….
    Nascar has models,
    Skateboarding has models,
    Surf companies have models,
    Fucking tool companies have models…
Girls should model rollerblading clothes too. It’s good for the industry. And it’s beautiful. Every sport in the world, male dominated or not male dominated, shows women and sex appeal in ads….yeah, look around.
    And Fallon is sooo cute
