Fallon Heffernan : News, Skating & Sexy Pictures
Shooting Starz Productions with Producer Rob Hawk are currently working on a film entitled “Voosha Day”. Fallon is playing the role of Alexis in this action-packed movie. You’ll find her acting and possibly skating throughout the film.
The celebrity cast is phenomenal. Acting alongside Fallon in “Voosha Day” will be celebrities such as Jeff Timmons from 98 degrees, Jordan Knight from New Kids on the Block, and several other huge names that will be announcing their participation in the film soon as well! Fallon Heffernan recently began modeling and acting. Her status as a professional in-line skater opened up the opportunities in the entertainment industry for her. In August of 2005, she was requested for a photo shoot by a free-lance photographer named Chris Mitchell. Her photos will be used to glamorize the ladies in the sport of stunt rollerblading.
Since then, she has posed for other photographers, including Jeff Linett with 838 Studios of Hollywood. (source)

I think it’s both good and bad:
Good: More exposure for rolling.
Bad: At the cost of the few girls who do roll, being expected to be models and sex toys. I mean it’s bad enough that women get bombarded with this crap on a daily basis by the media, but it seems that their one outlet to get away from it all is sadly becoming that way too.
I never thought I’d live to see the day when I’d say this, but ROLLERBLADING IS OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT.

I don’t know, it’s said that any exposure is good exposure, but I think this overall would hurt skating. Skating is primarily a male activity and it’s vying with a few other activities like skateboarding for participation. As it is now rollerblading has been on the losing side of the battle, in terms of numbers. The addition of a bikini wearing skater might be great publicity for some photographers and the skater. It might even bring more girls to skating, but the number of women in skating will always be in an insignificant number (unless there is some massive cultural shift).I don’t think skating will ever fade into oblivion but I also don’t think this helps much in building up a participant base.

Ours is an idustry that pays kids, yes, KIDS, to wear what ever prdoucts a company makes to influence other younger kids to buy them. That is the purpose behinde sponsorship. Not to promote skating, but promote products. Skating is and all ways will be in the back seat on this one. Now how can you say we have NOW officaly sold out. I think we did it about 10 years ago with Avian water, Slim Jims, and Air Borne. It is the way bussines’s operate and it just simple marketing. Face it, sex sells. This will sell. Ontop of witch, if she felt comfortable enough to do it, than what do you care. They probably make her feel sexy or what not and more than likely she really enjoyed the shoots, other wise she would not have done more than one of them. And they are not trying to be slutty. They are trying to walk the line of sexy vs. artsy…..ha, which some times comes off as a little slutty…….But I think they are all in good taste, so what ever.
