  3. satan Says:

this is have to bitch about. wtf are those wheels!? shit like this actually bad for rollerblading. you give that piece of trash to a kid, and he’ll have such a bad time skating in uncomfortable skates with plastic wheels that don’t even fucking roll that he won’t ever get to enjoy it and he’ll never want to do it again.
    what a piece of shit.

  4. arschpirat Says:

  5. mr_gerbic Says:

I don’t appose the thought of large companies trying to push rollerblading into the main stream, but I think a lot of people have sour taste in their mouths with ESPN. I’m sure ARLO is rolling his eyes at this product. Trying to cash in on a sport they turned their back on. More then likely using the money to fund events that don’t including rollerblading.

  6. joshua_roddy Says:

they take us out of the X games, but they are still tryin to make money off of rollerblading

  7. shinsonater Says:

serously, i’m surprised they don’t realize how unwelcome they are along with thier shit in our sport

  8. Tensi Says:

I kind of agree, it would be great to bring the sport back..
but what are they thinking? they’re the ones who took it out.

they’re probably noticing how popular it is underground and they think if they get it now, it might be a good time.

  9. JordanSmith Says:

ive been skating those for about three weeks now, they are pretty sick, the ladiesdig it

  10. killa cos Says:

yo wtf is this like honestly why do you want to fool children to think thos r aggressive skates they have no sou plates wow just becuz it has a juice block wow thats wat trs and genesey j.r are 4

  11. Ths! Says:

@ arschpirat: They ARE Fisherprice.. just look at the right lower corner..

and i think: Give ‘em transformers or genesys..

  12. hoax34 Says:

They’re only kids skates so I don’t think it really matters. If it gets more people into our sport then kudos to ESPN (even though they dropped rollerblading from teh X-Games and generaly don’t give rollerblading any respect what so ever!).

I hope they get really popular and sell loads so that in about 10 years time rollerblading becomes the hot shit once more and ESPN drop another sport and it would have been down to a pair of fisher price skates!

  13. hoax34 Says:

Oh yeah, I hear Shima’s next pro skate is going to be a pair of these but in white! They’ll be called the “Grow to Pro Shima” model. Coming Christmas ‘07.

  14. Jai Says:

I think these are pretty nice. Let me first ask a question. How many who had comments have a child? I have a soon to be 4 year old son who could really benefit from this type of skate. Yeah, they are not the cool remz or xjsadow or whatever you all think is cool now? It is about getting to learn on something safe and then move to the next level. Did you learn to ride a bike without training wheels or did you just jump right on and ride. As far as ESPN promoting the skates.. This is very odd givin the simple fact that they looked down on rollerblading in the past and we are not part of the x-games. Fine by me that we are not in them. I think they are seeing the mistake and trying to market their way back in.. what do you think? Once we get back in on the games it is really going to open up the people’s eyes about what rolling really is today… compared to the basic style back in the day. With that said.. Just take it in stride. These are for children. My son skates in playschool skates now cause that is all he can fit into… This is a much better design for that purpose. I wish his foot would grow faster, but hey.. at least he can skate with dad and not have to walk or push some wood! I’m still skating at 32 and I will be skating until I can’t walk anymore. Got 15 years under my belt and I don’t plan to stop anytime soon.. My son is going to have a rad vintage skate t-shirt collection! This is what I am looking forward to.. Something we can share - So the skates rock for that purpose! Later on…

  15. Andy J Says:

These are hot. Shima 8’s right?

  16. sk834 Says:

    THAT GO

  17. dan Says:

hahah wheel control??? get real here. in skating your supose to push yourself and not worry about fuckin safety. or just do it to be fun. but either way wtf thats pathetic.

  18. hoax34 Says:

Nah, not Shima 8’s…Shima Jr! They come with a foldaway handrail and miniture leap of faith.

  19. manufan4eva Says:

i wonder if these are ufs compatible? the boots hot!!!

  20. Youngy14 Says:

Nice to hear a well reasoned comment Jai. Although I don’t have kids (yet) I agree with you completely. Keep rolling, I’m looking forward to being one of the first geriatric rollerbladers, I’m 26 now so I got a while to go yet!!

  21. Mr.M Says:

1st they dropped us from their hoopla circus…and now they’re selling ‘US’…interesting!!! but hey, if it gets more kids to start freestyle rolling then we might as well use this as a stepping stone…

  22. Ben g Says:

    Exactly what roddy said!

  23. Jack Says:

Seriously, why make it public here when most rollers on here are 12-30+ and they are shittest quality no doubt, but that said well like others said it could lead to somthing, but camon why not approach Razors and ask if they can make some skates for the espn spring recap would sell much better for sure.

its more like they are trying to dis our sport than help.

    lets wait and see.
