Emu Frames : Concept

Emu Frames : Concept. More photos

As you can see there are 4 parts to the frame now :

- Aluminum Core to mount it to the skate
- The Walls to Grind on should be made of Nylon
- The H-Block for groove tricks, tis should be made out of Uhmw

also i know i previously said it would be antirocker but the amount for material to make my own anti rockers and spacers got to hectic so now its freestyle

Yeah i know its similar to the element and core but hey whatever. So far i have 2 h-blocks done.

I have the hole in the core cuz i was gonna bolt the hblock in but i think the axles will do the job when theyre done if not drill away.

I am currently working on the walls for the frame so proto’s should be done in a few weeks.

So feedback please on the designs.

Thanks Chance

everyone is jumping on the same ass design, it definitely doesnt look like the m-types and mooks had an illegitimate child.

  4. me Says:

    we dont need more frames…

we need more support to what we have, period!

  5. tom Says:

    why!?!

  6. dan Says:

quit whining about design and weight. new designs r gonna be hard to find. and grow some leg strength if your gonna whine about weight.

  7. dan Says:

i dont really see it as a fad though. im never gonna ride anything other than freestyle again.

  8. krustcankill Says:

    same here

  9. reek Says:

just a suggestion, why not make the middle section and the side plates one piece? or kinda have places for it to mold into the sides like how the GC DI frames are. then you could have a tad bit of hollowness in the uhmw (reducing a little weight. plus uhmw doesnt grind down as quick). this way you still keep the aluminum skeleton.

  10. Laurens Says:

Here’s a suggestion. Make basic, simple frames that grind good and clean on most obstacles, nice groove, ride smooth and can be trusted. I actually wonder why no company has tried to make this!!!!

And no, able does not grind on everything.

  11. P.J Says:

props for trying chap. its good your doing sumthing productive. people in industries start off with an idea. and it only flurishes if you have the balls to try. your trying. good on you. definately! make sure u post the fully finished proto’s!

  12. ele cold Says:

i think you dont need the core to comepletly solid that should reduce the weight. the design looks like its made to be cut on a 3 axis cnc then bent pretty easily made but yeah pretty much weight and structural integrety will be a major issue especially on such thin material.

  13. mike/rando Says:

get a skateboard if you are gona roll freestyle, haha.

  14. brendo Says:

nice idea and design… i don’t think the h-block needs to be so deep though?

their called kizers :D fluid frames with some grindrocks and you can grind everything, or type Ms, reeeaaally big groove and they hold up

  16. merc Says:

if its a fad then why were the kizer suspension frames and m-types so popular or why were mooks selling even though they snap?
obviously people like freestyle frames just as much as 8 wheel frames. its just a matter of choice and what feels better to you.

those frames look to similar to fifty fifty core frames though. all that was added was an h-block which isnt really enough to make them original. try some different ideas to make them unique.

The most annoying thing about freestyle is when you lock on a rail, the frame doesn’t actually lock on proper enough, there’s still room for front- and backmovent. Sure, a big groove gives you the advantage of grinding unusual huge objects, but does that advantage weight against the unstable locking on the usual object? I wonder…

When it comes to freestyle-like frames, I still prefer the older balance frames. Some may say it’s not freestyle but hey, it had the advantages of a freestyle AND the advantages of proper locking like an antirocker.

And further, props for designing and creating an own frame. It’s a cunning step and getting popular and selling is hard.

  18. josip Says:

well, i’d like to see a properly designed flat frame without all the excess bullshit (the new kizer element frames, ahem). all that aluminium shit is unneccesary. I want a frame with the split of size 11 roces fifth element frames, and a similarly shallow groove. I don’t need a deep groove to lock on shit, i have been skating for more than ten years now. so, make that, expensive gimmick crap making frame companies. I was hoping for something like that from kizer, but they went all out, and overdid it.

  19. andy Says:

Interesting…i really like the look of the H-block..hurry up and post the finished product!

  20. toe-bee Says:

    fuck emus!

  21. Korp Says:

    So f.ucking sad..

Why should anyone buy this frame? There’s already enough freestyle frames + the name is really annoying and everything about it is just sad.

    emo-u

  22. Korp Says:

Oh and its exactly the same bullshit as all the other freestyle frames, how many xsjado ripoffs can there be?

  23. P.J Says:

kizer was the first after market ufs frame yeh? why havent u said anything about able, 50/50, ground control etc for being UFS compatable and being able to attach wheels to them? cus at the end of the day they are all the same kind of concept too.

there is a market for freestyle frames. people WILL want to come into the market. some will make it some wont. its all in the decisions of the frontmen/women of the business that detrmine the outcome of a product.

  24. yer and what? Says:

fuck u all and ur shit opinions

  25. K D O G G Says:

i like the autoCAD designs of the frame. But, i think that the whole aluminum core idea is a bit over used. but that’s just me. also, the whole freestyle frame is used extremely overused. i think that the groove should be closer to the ground, rather than closer to the skate. or make the walls of the h-block and the frame walls should have a slant on the edge of the walls. That way it would make it easier to pivot on certain tricks and switchups like royal to alioup topsould. But those are just my opinions.
