Everyone mentioning negativity towards Dom obviously have no clue.. where do i start? Okay. frechMaster, quoting that Dom is boring.. Dom is one of the most unusual rollerbladers to witness.. yes, this edit was mostly grinds and rails.. but he has an eye for things, things that he even beat your hero, Oli short to (alot of tricks in the kingdom section, Dom had conquered months, if not years before Oli). Which brings me onto how Dom got flow on Valo… through Oli Short himself. I first met Dom back in Bercy for the first imyta when he was no taller than my hip.. the lad has always been a dark horse.. and 3 years ago, decided it was about time to throw a section of him for EGG. It paid off. Sure it didnt put out your favourite 540 kind grinds or whatever. But he set the bouderies of what i call real rollerblading. Hunting the streets of his local area, making the most of what he could per spot. Granted it was a hard task and very tiring sometimes, but he pulled it through. And i gurantee any of you, that you would struggle alot harder than he did. Dom never asked to be sponsored. He never even looked for it. Sponsorship found him. And he deserves it. Congrats Domo, one of kind, true friend.

More than anywhere else in the world english sponsorship is ruled by who u know not what u can do. U can just add Dom to a long list of rollerbladers from uk who should not be sponsored.
Matt Watt, Mark Trebble, Si Cox, Si Coburn, Giles Milligan, Dan Sterling, the list goes on and on. IT IS WHO U KNOW, NOT WHAT U CAN DO.

Every one of those skaters represents rollerblading to the fullest, always putting themselves out there making sure they get the exposure.. you say its about who you know, not what you can do. Are you sure? All these skaters you name, not only represent rollerblading to the fullest within the UK (mainly), but make sure by contacting filmers, photographers, going to events, making videos, companies, etc… they put their shit on the line… if you think you’re good enough, then why dont you?? Have you checked what these guys have got to offer?? I can gurantee you that you havent got the gap Matt Watt laced for the USD advert in Egg (let me remind you by posting a link to the youtube quality >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Abzn44Wj6j4). Trebble as far as i know isnt sponsored, he runs a distribution company, Si Cox is one of the most influential, creative, stylish skaters out there in the UK, Si Coburn is always at every event, first one to lace the blades on,first one to drop a hammer, last one to take them off. REPRESENT. Giles i dont know much about. Dan Stirling is fucking ILL.. witnessed the guy skate a fair good few times and lays some serious hammers! Personally, youre just another bitch and thats probably why youre hiding behind a number. Why dont you put an edit out for us to all criticise?? Who knows, maybe Valo will sponsor you.

If you haters think sponsorship is based on how many different tricks you can do, then your so wrong, You need to look at the history of rollerblading especially in the 90’s when it was more appealing due to the fact that pro’s had style and character such as arlo, petty, champ etc etc the way they carried themselves was stoking and motivating, not like aragon type skaters, where they just bust out endless tricks but to watch a hole section bores the living day lights out of me!

yes well done dom west a great skater. But this ain’t no valo uk team. The most northern rider is in Manchester. This is a valo England team and there are too many companies who sell their shit in the uk with purely just an English team. It is so whack. What’s the point in calling it a uk team when most riderS are based (not even country wide in even england) but mostly just southern England. I mean do wales ireland and scotland not exist bar hooi and escott? Not 1 kid in scotland apart from chaz is even on a uk team and he is pro, whos gonna come up if nobody is getting a chance outside england. Sad state

Hmm.. i wouldnt go that far.. Champ was fucking weak at his ’skating abilities’ compared to Nick praterelli. (Both had sections in medium film of the year, look them up on youtube if you dont own it.) Champ was KNOWN for his bad boy behaviour. Arlo, was fucking Arlo man. Friend or not, Dom West is one of those skaters that you could take to a stale mince pie and he’d still make a trick out of it. Those tricks were tricks that he has in the BAG. Personally I can’t believe this shit. Firstly it would be kind of cool for people to leave their names, we are communicating with eat other, if its all about opinions and ‘my opinion matters because its mine’ then lets bare all and talk like men? because there’s some juvenile stuff going on. This is in response to the post of Doms mini, fuck about did in a few days section… I mean I’m gob smacked at this shit. Why is this dude, 123 claiming all this shit about getting his paycheque for rolling, getting this getting that, we all were at some point trife, with no money and only our parents at best to rely on for skates, and when i first worked I bought my own shit, now I don’t have to pay for anything, that’s cool, it was never a plan, never a goal of mine. shit just happens like that because as we grow older our interpretation of our great art blossoms, people appreciate that and want to hook you up because of it. There are a multitude of reasons why Dom was a spot on choice for Valo, he sure as hell wouldn’t be involved in this kind of thing, he worked hard to put together some skating, with his own hardware for people to enjoy, isn’t that what its about. Skating is about interpretation and Yeh people are entitled to their ‘opinion’ but lets get real here, Dom is an incredible rollerblader with awesome talent, on the grind, in the air, up banks whatever the fuck, a true scholar of street skating, and I been doing this thing 12 plus years now and recognise Dom as one of the forward and positive minds in rollerblading in the UK. Yeh he is my friend, so that gives me an elevated position to speak about him. It just really annoys me to see venom directed at someone doing really fresh stuff for rollerblading. I understand there’s bitterness at not being sponsored, but why the fuck is that a goal!!!! What happened to the thrill of being that unknown guy, or that no name dude who just bops around spots silently destroying things, there’s mysticism and immortality embedded in the very core of our art, in every facet. Im just quite taken aback at all of these comments concerned why Dom SHOULDN’T be sponsored by Valo, I don’t think there could be a better candidate, that’s why I PUSHED it for him to ride for the team. He’s good for rollerblading. If anyone bothers to reply to this, don’t come with an aliases.

What kind of criteria is there for a section, why didnt it cut it? It was an introductory piece, not all guns blazing as such, it takes different things for each skater, to really get in that zone and start firing those guns, ya know start dropping hammer. Some kids are off the hook, dropping hammers like they are sunday morning royales, thats cool, thats that guys thing. I love and respect that about skting….But when you say cut it, you are talking about specific criteria for a section, I dig a whole bunch of shit, local edits, FRANKY AND HAFFEY, whoever, why are u anti skating man. I fucking love internet debates! Allow me to place my 27p on the table. Doms sick, Hes gets free skates, dont hate on the fella for getting a free pair of skates every couple of months. Im sure you have a list of people who should get free skates, really fucking sick cunts who can switch back flip to negative frontside or maybe they wear the most rightous clothing known to man or maybe they make getting bummed this seasons must have. To the scottish bloke- its nothing personal or anything against scotland… but a distributor isn’t going to go out of their way to come find you! Send them an edit, or get “known”… thats the only way to get it done. I know at least 10 skaters who should be sponsored across the UK (literally the whole UK) but aren’t, because what company is going to want to flow product to a skater no-one knows or who no-one sees at events… even if they’re the best skater the world has ever seen, it straight out doesn’t make any business sense! Plus the postage is more to send stuff to scotland : P Failing that you could just move to Bristol, where you’d get hooked up in a heartbeat!

P.S. Scotland has the best skate heritage ever and should have more sponsored riders. SKULL FUCK! Rollerbladers are great in general.
