crazy!!!!! … saw this comming lol. good move.

  2. -.-.- Says:

….now i HAVE to get deshi carbons thx conference..

  3. MW Says:

The game of chess is like a sword fight – you must think first before you move!

  4. Lukas Says:

Does this mean the Carbons will be released as USDs later on (in different colours etc.) or will there never be a Carbon-like skate again????

  5. peachtree Says:

they spelled rumors wrong. thats hilarious.

  6. koubis Says:

There will be USD Carbons, check the logo on the bottom left

  7. Greg Says:

    USD Carbons doesn’t sound right…

    Oh well!

  8. mr M Says:

bring on carbon thrones sick $$$

  9. Will Says:

carbon thrones arent gonna happen, because that would be moronic

  10. GrafKID Says:

I sense this as being a good thing. Also, this may explain the new boot that USD has talked about that was mentioned in the Conference Mag. Lets just let time do its thing. But one question, will we ever have Deshi-like skates again or will the merge just make it so USD has more money to produce their boots?

  11. chris Says:

ok… my personal favourite brand is gone…. cuz they calculated the cost of the new skate wrong… youre so cool… not

  12. bassti Says:

the only change is that carbons will have usd logos now…

  13. face Says:

new site is cool i guess

but look at all those new xsjado riders… and still no love for JC Rowe?

    very LAME of you Conference

  14. andreas542 Says:

It’s the best thing for the conference as a company IMO, it’s like when there were two wheel companies and they reduced it to just Undercover making wheels.

I think they should merge Xsjado with USD too, and drop the USD Legacy, that way they’d have the two throne skates, the VII, the Realm, the Xsjado and the Carbon, which would be a great line up of different models. Chances are they won’t though, Xsjado has too much of an industry image.

  15. Alfo Says:

Since their kind of starting from scratch they should update the team a bit. Some of the skaters have not produced anything really for years and still hold pro status

  16. Talulah. Says:

Remember the 2005 California Team :

Dustin Latimer – Kevin Gillan – Aaron Feinberg- Dominic Sagona- Randy Spizer-Louie Zamora- Josh Petty – Rachard Jonhson -Jon Julio – Andy Cruz – Abdiel Colberg

Sorry But USD is Die .

  17. OutsiderLookingOut Says:

Conference, – Congrats on the merge. Any word on new Xsjado parts? Stepping aside from the handmade carbon fiber materials – I think making some Velcro/Nylon ankle straps available wouldnt exactly break the bank… Thanks. And again, congrats – looking forward to seeing the new team vids.

PS: You’ve got the Xsjado Basic 08 up there on the site being called the Basic 09. …Do you guys care about the brand at all?

  18. usd nelson Says:

alright this is a pretty sweet move butwhat gunna happen to the deshi pros
benny harmanus oli bennot martina svobodova ciral daniel ramelle knight colin kelso? are they just gunna be throw away with the name of deshi? or are they going to be put on to the deshi team?

  19. MB Says:

I love how a company makes a press release with the word “organsied” in it. There are so many things wrong with that. It might help USD to put somebody in charge of press releases who has a basic understanding of English.

  20. the king Says:

    fuck the conference

  21. Tom Fry Says:

JC Rowe is not on Xsjado?
Man I am so sad to see talent of JC Rowe and Chris Cheshire being sooooo fucking underestimated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    This is fucking bullshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Could you imagine them skating Valos? It would be so amazing!!!
Jon pick them up and you will have the sickest team ever and much, much more buyers!!!!

  22. Tom Fry Says:

and yeah FUCK THE CONFERENCE AND THE CHEAP SHITTY PLASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!

  23. Paul C Says:

one of the best things they have ever did

  24. Richie Velasquez 2 Says:

thats one less skate company to choose from…bummer.

  25. ivan narez Says:

please spell check next time.. thankyou

  26. Horia Says:

remzrazorsusddeshixsjadovalorollerbladeroces this is the next move

  27. vermontroller Says:

I think no one here understands the costs involved with running a business. What would you rather have: a rollerblade company go face up or a merger that saves it from falling into the rollerblade dustbin of history?

  28. tomckl Says:

    so ein schwachsinn!!!!!!!!!!

  29. marco Says:

@ tom fry: ever skatet a carbon?
then you will never skate an other skate again, because you can fly higher than ever and do all the tricks sooo easy.

for shure it would be hard for cheshire to skate a 5 kilo skate like valo again.
don`t get me wrong. i love the concept of valo, nimh etc. and the point that it`s 100% skaterowend!
if they would produce a revolutionary skate like the carbon, i would buy nimh skates right now!
and not any longer support the conference, but today, the carbon is the revolutionary and free feeling under my feet and so i love to skate with it and love it!

  30. yup Says:

i dont rally dont care about what marco had to say..

but whats going to happen with the deshi type skate?
or are you just going to put out some more carbons for 2 or 3 years in different colourways..?

cause that would be LAME…like really LAME.

  31. Tom Endo Says:

I’m unclear about whether or not the Carbons are going the way of the dodo. Otherwise it makes sense. Personally I think their product line up is still bloated. They need two skates and only one colorway available at any one time.

I mean how much is anyone really going to miss the grycon and fila/realm skates? Get rid of the Psirus equivalent skates in your line up is my point.

Same thing with frames and wheels – fewer sizes and types. These are lean times and most of these frames ride really similarly if we’re honest with ourselves.

USD used to have focus – it had one great skate and a killer team, and they rode that to the top of the world. They need to cut the fat off their team – get down to maybe three incredible and highly productive skaters and start churning out the clips on rollernews.

  32. JAke Says:

Looks like no more legacies will be made?

  33. MB Says:

It’s not about spell check, it’s about having some sense of profesionalism and taking the time to look over what you typed for a press release. If somebody did look that over that release, then that explains the lack of organization behind the scenes. If you are too fucking dumb to spell basic words, then your logic is probably not quite up to par.

  34. H@T3 Says:

nah legacie boot is getting dropped there going to make new classic throne also look out for demetrios new sk8 killer bee shit is gunna be dope only making limited pairs the conference is going far

  35. rollerblading is gay Says:

hahah. would you guys rather that both companies just fucking die?!@ idiots.

  36. Andersson Says:

i think its sad to see deshi go down, i loved deshi in everyway had a cool name and fucking awsome skates! the carbon skate is the ultimate skate love it in everyway. Usd has always been a storng brand and now its even stronger.

  37. Hornetz!!! Says:

just a good way to sell off all the carbons they have laying around

    Last ones made EVAR!111ZOMghax

  38. victor alicea Says:

I call bullshit… are they saying rat-tail has their shit together and they don’t? They have several different brands, managers, etc. and there’s no need for a merger/name change. Maybe it has something deeper they don’t want to talk about. Maybe by X’ing the Deshi name it’ll kill all old ties with Zamora and Spizer. Why can’t they have one team manager for both? Does it really matter what skate they ride? Come on USD… you have how many boot models and you’re saying that you need to merge Deshi blah blah blah. Bullshit! I’m going to wear my carbons down to the ground and get some remz.

  39. lol Says:

USS IS GOING TO BE MANUFACTURING THE NEXT CARBONS DUMBASS

  40. lol Says:

    I ment*

USD S GOING TO BE MANUFACTURING THE NEXT CARBONS

  41. victor alicea Says:

USS… dumb ass huh? It wasn’t an issue of “USD” manufacturing the next carbon skate. It’s about the name change, x’ing team riders, etc… Seems like something shady is going on.

  42. victor alicea Says:

one last thing… it’s spelled “meant”

no flame wars… keep skating!!!! 1

  43. skelmo Says:

deshi arnt goin under stop acting like u no wots goin on usd has always been owned buy deshi since day one fukin get over yourselves an just think usd have just added another model of boot nothing has changed just the name…stop bitchin an get over it u idiots all is it is doin is puttin more money into development an sortin the weak from the srong …getover it

    peace

  44. gsmoke Says:

everyone one from the deshi got put on the usd team so now for instance colin kelso is pro for usd ramelle knight is am for usd and so on usd been around for 12 years and to me still make bomb skates i like the move theres nothin to bitch about you either support the skates and the company or dont at all its as simple as that

  45. Lubaduba Says:

YOU ALL NEED TO REALIZE THAT THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO A SPORT WITH NO MONEY COMING IN TO IT ! MAKE THE EFFORT TO BUY NEW SKATES INSTEAD OF TRADE FOR THEM, WEAR SKATE BRANDS FOR CLOTHING AND GET OUT AND GO OT COMPS AND EVENTS. THE CONFERENCE BOUGHT UP BRANDS THAT COUDLN’T STATY A FLOAT OTHERWISE. HOW COULD DESHI(WHICH WAS PRETTY MUCH ALREADY USD) JUSTIFY BEING ITS OWN COMPANY WITH ONLY ONE BOOT? ITS SAD BUT ITS REALITY, THERES NO GROWTH ON THE HERIZON FOR BLADING

  46. Lubaduba Says:

ITS CLEAR AS DAY, CARBONS ARE NOT GOING TO BE MADE ANYMORE! TOO EXPENSIVE. YEAH IT SUCKS A LOT I’LL NEVER GET A PAIR…

  47. koubis Says:

    USD Carbon logo:
    http://69.89.31.93/~rollerne/rn2/20090616_carbon.jpg

Taken & enlarged from the picture of this post.

  48. Oskars Says:

groms are so stupid :D most probably dont have a job here so dont know nothing about business..

great to hear that Deshi (skate models) now will be under USD so we can promote stronger and better brand- USD! good move!

  49. Lubaduba Says:

ARE YOU PEOPLE STUPID ? “THE DESHI CARBON WILL STILL BE PRODUCED FOR A FEW MONTHS AND WE EXPECT MORE SKATES IN JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST BOTH COLORS AGAIN, BLACK AND AND WHITE. sO GET THEM WHILE THEY LAST…”

READ THE WHOLE ARTICLE DUMBASSES. NO MORE CARBONS

  50. mj Says:

People need to consider the financial side of this decision. Alot of business’s around the world are suffering in the current financial climate and the rollerblading industry is no exception.

Aside from the spelling errors in the release (proof read for god sake), the people working behind the scenes at the conference would be fairly intelligent people and would not make decisions like this without carefull consideration.

Consoliodation of business is an important part of change and progression and ultimately makes a business stronger both financially, and in terms of the products it manufactures.

This still leaves us with six core boot companies (Xsjado, Valo, USD, Nimh, Razors, Remz) which, in my opinion, is plenty. Remember that a BMX still looks like a BMX, and a skateboard looks like a skateboard, no matter what brand. At least with roller boots we have not only colour options, but each skate LOOKS different too, so i think we are lucky that we have a bit of variety in rollerblading.

Remember, although 1 less brand in our industry may sound like a step backwards, it can also be a step fowards. Rollers who used to skate deshi will now have to choose to skate another brand, which injects cash into a company that would have otherwise gone to deshi. Thus that company makes more money as more products are turned over, which means more money to pay pros a wage, increase the sports awareness and increase product range.

I have crapped on enough. Peace.

  51. Roussel Says:

actaully, they did no spell rumours wrong.

“rumors” is the Americanized version of “rumours”. just like “color” is the Americanized version of “colour.” most other english speaking countries use the “OUR” suffix.

  52. Will Says:

I think its funny how many retarded kids out there did not know that deshi was a usd sub entitty. Aslo yes theyre will be no more Deshi Carbon, and you should get them while they last. But OF COURSE theyre will be a USD carbon. Dont be fooled by marketing points kids.

  53. skelmo Says:

will you are wrong i have mailed usd an they will be makin more carbons just with a usd logo on them an they will still be probucing the ch1 too as well as some new stuff so if u dont know shit shut ya mouth end of well done usd for using there heads an fixing summit they coulod have easily been dropped but no they took it under there wing an saved it ….go usd…. support them or dont but i will.

  54. change leads to? Says:

this is a dark time for the industry indeed, i remember when i had i my louie zamora dk1s and how happy i was. but this merge makes me sad and now that i think about it what will become of our industry in a few years, were will it go? all the original people i used to skate with have moved on started families gotten full time jobs etc… when i first go into rollerblading i never knew how much i was going to fall in love with it. but it seems like companies, people, and the love for skating all move on eventually. and i don’t mean to rant but this is’nt fare that rollerblading is in the shadows it is’nt fare that pros get paid so little…… it just is not fare…… so you tell me where change leads to

  55. Will Says:

Skelmo you are exactly one of the retards i was speaking off. I clearly said they wiould be making USD carbons. I think its funny that you said they ll be making carbons with a USD log. dumbass, the carbon was just a powerslide skate witha deshi logo on it.

  56. skelmo Says:

will cleary not a dumb ass coz before i started makin stupid comments i emailed them an they will be makin more carbons .

  57. OutsiderLookingOut Says:

Skelmo & everyone else not understanding – READ!! They wont be making any more DESHI carbons – why – because they will be USD carbons.

    Deshi Carbon = No.
    USD Carbon = Yes.

Can your brain wrap itself around that?

  58. Flawed Lives Says:

I do understand what is goin on but theoretically we are still ”losing” a brand name, y’know. one side of this deal is amazing having 1 big strong brand but this now means that USD will probably get rid of there less used skates such as classic thrones and legacies so it will be a massive shake up in the industry but could be good !?! who knows time will tell.
    -peace

  59. Wakos Says:

    what about CH1 skates?
