From the golden age before the invasion of the emo faggots. This brings back memories of when skating was real. These days skating is, well in amerika, who can spin the most or who can land the biggest shit. What happened to style? About the time the tight pant emo look came in we lost all creditability. Now sloppy arm waving spin to win crap = pro skate. This video proves that we have gone in the wrong direction.

“unknown” at 6:20 is Jeremy Pennacchini.

    oh my! Julio at 2:05!

Yes because everyone in rollerblading who wears tight pants is now an emo faggot . If we would have stayed in this “golden age” we’d all be straight and pulling mad women. This is a classic video but it only is the tip of progression for someone like Sagona. But he’s too much of a hipster now that franco shade is the hot shit in Urban Outfitters right? People need to quit bitching about the “golden age” and just appreciate the level of skating at that time and how it has influenced now. I’m sure that Jon Elliot could be blamed for all the emo faggs rolling around doing toe rolls. The industry was even worse off when this video came out. It was far from a golden age. This was around the time everyone’s friends quit, and the people who care about rollerblading stuck with it. And what happened to Troy White? or Santiago?

  10. um...... Says:

“And what happened to Troy White? or Santiago?”

they got real jobs that pay them enough money to live on…… no pro can say that today.

  11. carlos Says:

thats all that needs to be said; this is how skating should be

i can’t agree more… and… nice to know, what happens here (in Brazil) happens i other places at same time, or something like this… like, friends quitting cause they have a job, and ways for another directions…

  19. bballog Says:

who has a pro skate that is an arm waving spinner? Last time I checked Broskow does some stylish spins to get his wins.

The top pros in rollerblading are deserving of their skates, and each represent completely different styles. (bailey, shima, sagona, stockwell, farmer, minton, haffey, kelso) Rollerblading is the way it should be. Diversified. Videos like this helped pave that progression. I miss Daily Bread.

  20. Tom Endo Says:

To be honest, I think this video came out at kind of a boring point in rollerblading. Videos were basically dominated by the esco zoo and fp scenes which kind of felt like they were in auto pilot at the time. 1998-1999 was not the greatest year for rollerblading. (I think that’s around when this came out. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.) Don’t get me wrong Volume and Coup de Tat are still classics of the time and hold up really well, but rollerblading was kind of stale from a video perspective until Brain Fear Gone bitch smacked it back into shape.

Shawn Robertson’s first trick in the opener is pretty epic and Santiago and Sagona were both way ahead of their time.

  21. kj Says:

    what happened to Charles Dunkle?!

    Brandon Ballog owned you both.
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some recent clips of Santiago skating a play rail on Youtube. Haha.
And as for Troy White, I have no idea.

  25. rollerblading is gay Says:

i dont mind the tight pants thing. i dont give a fuck about it. but i hate that kids jerk themselves off cause they did a trick while doing the high y (arms all spread out n shit) or waved their arms around like crazy and still think its good style. it isnt.

champion got locked up but got out early. man that was a while ago.

and troy white was a fucking beast. what happened to him?

  26. Wrekshop Ryan Says:
