daily bread history of rollerblading, reminds me of old times!!!

  11. Smashing Dumplings Says:

I used to get daily bread religiously, after DB died I never really bought any print rollerblading media, pretty sad really but to me the death of DB was the death of rolling print.

I have about 80% of those sequences in my old DB’s I won’t ever throw them babies out

  12. Satan Says:

seen that movie sw before, wasnt that in some advertisement as well or so?

  13. www.myspace.com/djwrekshopmusic Says:

The saddest day for me as a rollerblader was when I found out that DB was gonna shut down. I still have every issue since issue 8. Best magazine ever. Be-mag and One do an excellent job but they are just not the same as DB.

  14. Jack Says:

    I miss daily bread :’(

  15. Mike/rando Says:

Just experienced my life flash before my eyes.

  16. Noah Says:

  17. badazz Says:

them youngun’s won’t be able to appreciate the the impact of this stuff…

that was like hall of fame!

  18. RZA Says:

Smashing Dumplings, ONE mag and Be-Mag are much better than DB ever was. The magazine itself looks better and the quality of photos are much better as well because that’s what counts the most IMO.

ONE magazine is also sold in Barnes and Noble where I’m from so it gets spread to the masses that way. Last time I saw DB in a major bookstore was in 97`

  19. moooo Says:

    i dunno, its a funny concept…
but it doesnt quite work for me… although i can understand u guys wet ur pants when u see these good old days reminders…:D

because db was indeed de best roller mag evor!:P

  20. josee Says:

RZA, ONE mag and Be-Mag are much better than DB ever was?
Ha-Ha. They will never be like that than DB!

  21. subjective Says:

RZA, DB was in most stores till it went out of business in my town, and I never see ONE in any stores around here. So I guess it just depends on your area…

  22. Neil Says:

That was cool! Also have all those mags, will never give them away!

  23. nostalgia sucks Says:

Uhh DB operated with 10x the amount of money that ONE or Be-mag has and still managed to fuck it all up and run themselves into the ground. DB was great at times, but DB also took advantage of a lot of blading talent, kicked them to the curb without paying what was owed, and started the trend of ripping off skateboarding more than anyone. Angie Walton was good at two things: sleeping with everyone in the industry and spending all the money that DB made. Any magazine made today takes 10x the skill level and business savvy to stay alive because it ain’t hard to make a magazine when corporate america is throwing 100k+ in money at you every month. That shit was easy for them and they still fucked it up.

Another thing nobody knows is how Angie Walton stole camera equipment from Wes DRiver and then sued him and Eisinger trying to stop ONE from being made… people who love DB are just peeps that have never worked for DB.

  24. romy dom Says:

too shaky, couldnt even understand the tricks but good idea tho

    pure nolstaglia

  28. laf Says:

that was cool, some nice nostalgia. DB was the best ever, One is pretty similar to be fair

  29. Scott Wilcoxson Says:

Ha,ha, that my friends, was for the people who have most all the DB mags!
Kind of like full recapitulation of rollerblading over the past 12 years. Did anyone catch Feinbergs picknick table launch to grind the top of a swingset!
I love it. I remember first getting that issue and being like WTF when I saw him doing that.

  30. poop noodlez Says:

anyone remember the issue with spizer doing an x-grind on the cover, circa ’98? i lent that issue up to the 50th issue to a friend and her alcoholic dad urinated all over them in a drunken stupor. RIP

  31. poop noodlez Says:

on my second watch, DB photos, especially the older ones, had a real intimate feel to them, perhaps bc the photographer got really close the subject. sometimes
One shots feel like stock photos. Pretty, but lifeless

  32. Zacharias Flynn Says:

    Anyone know the song?

  33. Jack Says:

lol comon be-mag and that are good but they lightweights compared to DB.

  34. Robert Says:

im almost positive this was posted here before.
i could be wrong, but i remember the song
and its some sort of cover of the song young folks (i think thats the name) by peter bjorn and john
