it’s sad cause I first saw this video after the transition to dvd. Though I have to say that it’s still really dope to watch. The fact that those tricks are still the same ones that win big comps just goes to show how advanced those guys were.

Actually, the reason for which this video was named “Coup de Tat” instead of “Coup d’Etat” has been explained later by Shane Coburn (the USD team manager at this moment ~1999) in an interview.
Initialy, Shane Coburn thought to call it “Coup d’Etat”, but as he’s american, he mispelled the expression, and it was turned into “Coup de Tat” !
The story of the mispelling of this name is just about grammatical mistake!!!

One of the biggest mistakes ever made in rollerblading is to think that Shima part 2 is one of the best sections ever made. Another mistake is to say that Dustins section is one of the best ever made, although it is probably the best section he ever made.

I am not talking about best tricks ever landed but for entertainment, be that music, editing, skate style and just general feel these sections leave that dustin and shima stuff standing.

Kizza… agreed! This is one of my favorite older skate videos. One of my bastard friends stole it from my collection. I’ll donkeypunch their girlfriend if i find out who did it.
