Control Flow : Rolling Video Game WIP

Here is a work-in-progress of Control Flow, a rollerblading Game (thanks taylornelson). Link
So there’s aggressive inline, JGR, and JSRF. but i want a roller game that is about the tricks, about foot placement, about transfers, about style. a game where control is about 2 boots on a grind. a game where the roller community decides on trick names and difficulty. a game where players can host sessions and roll with their friends in other countries. a game that can save time lapse trick sequences….
Well, i have been working as a video game artist for a while now and i have just started working on the game listed above. if i am not the only one interested in such a game, i will seriously step up development.
At this point my plan is to offer the game for free or very cheap ($5). or maybe request donations.

up : Environment collage studies
i plan to focus on smaller scale sessions - the environments i have in mind are more like where most of us roll - parks, alleys, stairways, etc.
I do not intend to simply mimic games that already exist. i want visuals and gameplay to be unique and stylish - prolly in between toon and realism - with tight skater control.
It will be more than a flash game. through my profession, i have access to a wide range of game engines and development tools - not to mention artists, engineers, sound designers, etc. while i alone am spearheading the project, i consult with my peers many times daily.
One reason i posted to this group is to tap into the energy here. shared enthusiasm will help keep me focused. i understand that some of you have doubts, but i have been making other peoples games for 8 years now - it’s time for me to make my own. More…

It’s funny you asked that. You should have known 99.99%of Rollerbladers would give anything for it.
September 26th, 2006 at 2:54 am
I would defintly buy it, no doubt about it!
September 26th, 2006 at 3:38 am
Without a doubt, rollers would cough at least $20 for a new rollerblading game. I’d say to go ahead and start developing/programming because if completed, you’ll have an endless number of people on the waiting list.
September 26th, 2006 at 3:42 am

The guy that is doing this project… I would be interested in possibly putting my graphic design abilities in to maybe design the cover and back… i your interested.

Sounds so good there is almost none rollerblading games out there just aggressive inline and rolling.
I always hoped they would make rolling 2 but its the money that speaks…
5 bucks sounds too good to be true, but its fair!
September 26th, 2006 at 12:24 pm
Make it a bit more expensive, it doesn’t have to be that cheap, otherwise people might think of it as less valuable.
I’m really looking forward to it man!!!!

September 26th, 2006 at 9:01 pm
I’d definetly pay more than $5 for that. If the dude who is producing that is reading this, you should really go through with that. I’d like to see a current rolling game with actual products and stuff. Good luck!
