Violence : Bad Start for the EGP18 Skatepark (Paris)

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

egp18

The Egp 18, new skatepark in Paris – 3200m² (1m is about 3,3 feet) & cost about 4.7 millions of euros was skatable this week although the opening was planned next week.

This was a really nice thing, but about ten Paris 18 locals came last sunday (the skatepark is freely accessible) and a skater was beaten up by those guys. The skater ended his weekend at the hospital, he even got hit several time with a skateboard’s metal trucks, his helmet was broken by the violence of the shock.

No guards reacted when those violent acts happened…

Richard Taylor Memorial Skatepark – Clearing of site and construction beginning!

Richard Taylor Memorial Skatepark

Sämi Raimann, 15.06.2007

Well the long awaited news is out! Next week we will be dismantling the old Knap Skatepark and any money gained from the scrap will be going to the Fund!

To date we have £51,000 in the fund with about £1,500 due to come from various donors – but I’m sure we will be able to raise the necessary £2,500 in time I’m attaching the plan for the skate park for you to display.

This plan costs £60K but as we have capped the fund raising now at £55K the long quarterpipe attached to the midi ramp is the same width as the midi, the spine ramp is smaller and there is a small piece taken off the jump box combination.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council are also putting in £30,000 for the excavation and surfacing works. The Richard Taylor Memorial Fund are only contributing to the equipment costs.

Week commencing 25th of June 2007 the engineers will be on site to begin digging up and then preparing to lay the new surface and then Andy Peerless of Fearless Ramps will be on site around 20th July. The official opening of the Richard Taylor Memorial Skatepark, The Knap, Barry, is scheduled for Sunday 26th August 2007

Shah Alam Extreme Park

from skatemalaysia.com :

I think this is the best skate park ever build in Malaysia next to Kg Batu and Mont Kiara. I mean this is the best ever. Skatemalaysia crew went for a peek today and we thought we were in United States. Very well professional kind of skatepark.

The size of the park is slightly smaller than the concreate park space in Kg Batu but the item here are much more better yet with full of place to skate. They have stair steps, lots of banks and hips, bowl, pool with many different shapes and sizes (some with coping and some are not), funbox, rails, handrails, flatbar rails, curbs, curve ledge, and many more.
