Alex Broskow Wallpaper ; shot by Brandon Smith.

Little known fact: this was a shot we wanted to use for the covers (with the image stretching across the front and back), but logo placement and Alex’s location in the shot related to where the magazine folds made it impossible.

Oh well, your monitor don’t care — post it up!

Photography by Ryan Daily: Interview & Photos (AZRZ)

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Photography by Ryan Daily

AZRZ:How long have you been into photography?

I always fiddled around with cameras as a kid thanks to my parents, but I got into it seriously about 8 years ago right around the time I started skating.

AZRZ:What type of camera/set up do you have?

I use a Nikon d40 because I love the fast flash sync speed it has. I don’t really care for sequence shots so it’s the perfect camera for me.

As for everything else: Nikkor 18-70mm, Nikkor 70-300mm VR, Some shitty brand 135mm prime, Two Vivtar 283’s and a Vivitar 2800, Cheapie eBay slaves, Tripods and yadda yadda yadda.

Thanks Ryan B.

Tracy White’s Blade Collection

Long years as a rollerblader have given Tracy White a respect for the memorabilia surrounding the sport, and he finally let ONE and a select ground of AZ rollers into his secret ‘Blade Museum’ to check out his private stash.

Primarily focusing on projects in which he’d participated like Bauer and 4Dub, there were plenty of other established classics amongst the collection. We snapped these pics to let you get a taste for yourselves.

One: LA All Day 2009, Report & Video

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

LA All Day

The second event of the 2009 LA All Day series went down on Saturday, and it was another great day for blading in sunny Santa Monica.

We’ll start at the end, when Sean Cowen, Ricky Rodriguez, Tony Rivituso and Jeremy Cloe were named the top four for the Elite division. The whole elite division ripped, but Cowen displayed his lengthly line prowess for the win with Rodriguez’s growing list of technical tricks propelling him to second.

Check out these shots of some of the sights around the event, and stay tuned for additional event photos and video coming soon.
