actually, i bought this dvd… i also bought fade nation - it is hard to compare the 2. checkmate is a nice change from the usual videos out today. it is well edited and has a nice flow to the entire dvd. fade nation is the basic skate video while also well edited. i haven’t seen much of the whole freestyle rolling thing - but i am enjoying it - i just enjoy everything skating.

this movie was short? are you seriously retarded? it was almost an hour long, Fade nation was less than 25 minutes. Checkmate was way better than fn (Im not at all saying fade nation sucked, it was good) but checkmate had at least 30 minutes solid of kelso clips, and figuring that everything they do is amazing thats not bad. the only thing that wasnt good about the movie was that people who should have had a section didnt, like FISH! and franco. Checkmate was worth the sean kelso section by itself.

yeah Im not saying fade nation was bad, I liked it, but chris haffeys section was the only thing that stood out at all (obviously its haffey, its bound to be the best section of the year). But I mean, it was like 20 minutes long. thats just annoying.

yeah I mean haffey is a god literally, every trick in his section was a hammer, there were no filler clips, everything was nuts. The disaster soul on that inch high stair ledge is so fucking ridiculous.
